It was my worst experience
By Abdallah D, 05/07/09
This was a nightmare, first we requested a harbor view and we were assured not once, but twice that we will get a harbor view….but when we got to the Hotel they said; “Yes you requested it but we didn’t guarantee it for you”…and they gave me a room facing construction. Then the pool was also unavailable because of renovations and they told us that they can send us to another hotel to swim….which was extremely inconvenient.. and we were not notified by this renovation before doing the reservation. They had the coffee machine locked in a closet and we found it the 2’nd day of our stay…and although we repeatedly requested tea bags with the coffee tray….that didn’t happen except in the first day. Over all the experience was bad, bad, bad….. and the management of the hotel were not helpful. I will never stay there or recommend it to any of my friends

Great Location
By TRIP, 07/21/08
We had picked Renaissance Harborplace Hotel, based on location to the harbor and the ballpark, we could walk to both with a stroller. Lots of smiling faces and children during our visit. The shopping inside was a nice touch, We were able to self park and go in and out as many times as we wanted with the car. This was a top nothch hotel. From the hotel you can reach the water taxi, at $9.00 to ride all day it is a must. We will return soon.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/10/08
Our cheerleading team has gone to the Renaissance two years in a row and loved every minute of it!!! Location is the best! Centralized and the service is excellent, the rooms are very clean and everybody is kind and helpful - can't wait to go back next year!!!!!!

Does the good outway the bad?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/13/07
We recently visited the Inner Harbor and stayed at this hotel. We opted for the Aquarium package which included breakfast, valet parking and tickets at the aquarium. A great deal! The buffet breakfast is fantastic! The room was clean, the beds and pillows extremely comfortable and the lotions/ soaps in the bathroom first class. Be warned though, bring your own toilet paper! Cheap 1-ply sandpaper rough toilet paper doesn't cut it with a 4 star hotel. The other complaint is the hallways. No matter what time of day, you will notice trays from guests ordering room service outside their rooms. I complained at least 7 times in 2 days that the hallway was a disgrace. Morning room service trays were left outside rooms from approx. 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. both days. The maids that clean the rooms seem to ignore these items as they are not in the individual rooms. A hotel of this caliber should not need lessons on how to clean the hallways, its' a bad reflection on how clean the room is! I did speak to a front end manager and a room service manager. They both agreed with my observations, were apologetic, and said they need to work harder on this matter. Time will tell. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the Inner Harbor. The attractions are great for the family, the variety of restaurants is incredible, and the local people are extremely friendly. One last note, if you make reservations at one of the local restaurants, many of them offer free shuttles from the hotel. This was a great bonus, as area parking is sparse and no one should ever drink and drive!

A Time To Remember
By Donna, 11/06/07
We went to Baltimore for my step-daughter's birthday. The hotel staff could not have been more accommodating. In fact, we came in one night to find a table with a chocolate birthday cake, silverware, plates and a teddy bear with a lovely note from the hotel staff. The presentation itself was beautiful but the effort and thoughtfulness behind it is what will bring our family back to this hotel anytime I stay in Baltimore. This is the best hotel I've stayed in because of the personalization alone and that's comparing to Ritz Carlton's, Bellagio, Swan & Dolphin .... and many other luxury hotels. The money is worth it and I'm a true believer of getting what you pay for.

Perfect for Vacationing
By Russell M, 08/15/07
My son and I stayed there last week and loved it!! He's only 8 but was very impressed. The staff was great, the beds super, and the closeness to all the harbor and downtown activities cannot be beat.

Beautiful view, wonderful room!
By Richmond Girl, 07/23/07
My friends & I checked into the hotel for a weekend, and we were very pleased with our experience! The beds were incredibly soft & clean, with an absolutely gorgeous view of the bay & Hard Rock Cafe. We joked that the beds were so comfortable that we should just spend the entire weekend ordering room service! Our only complaint with the room was that the toilet kept clogging up (and had been when we checked in), but the maintenance staff were incredibly prompt about coming out--even at 10pm at night! The concierge was incredibly friendly & helpful, especially when we got lost on our way to the hotel. The food inside the hotel is expensive, but with dozens of restaraunts around the hotel, there were many alternatives. It was expensive to park, but it was also handy since we were guaranteed a space b/c it was part of the hotel. We defintately plan on re-visiting the area & I plan on staying in the same hotel! As a matter of fact, I am considering becoming a Marriott's only girl!

Great location, just dont dine there
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/15/07
I enjoyed my stay for the most part but was very dissapointed in the dinning arrangement. The room was luxurious. It was a great location with excellent ammenities, with one exception..... the restaurant situation. They are apparently remodelling their restaurant & are only offering a buffet which is served in their ballroom. The servers were very unprofessional in the morning & could openly be heard complaining about how bad their food & beverage director was. I will definitely stay in the hotel again, but strongly advise against dining in thier restaurant.

Dream Beds will keep us coming back!!
By Allie A, 09/30/06
We have stayed at this hotel twice now and recommended it to our friends coming into town. The beds are like sleeping on a huge cloud and the rooms are spacious and clean. the staff has always been courteous and helpful. Although the price is a bit steep,we believe you get what you pay for..and in this case,it certainly rings true!!
