the room was ok. I wouldn't stay here. there was a cockroach on the bed and one on the wall. i wouldn't stay here again.

Great Stay at a Holiday Inn

My husband and I do not stay at a lot of hotels because we camp a lot, but we decided to book a hotel while visiting Washington D.C. We were very happy with our accomodations. The hotel was very clean which is what I am looking for first. We had a ref. and Microwave in our room which made our stay very nice. The mangaer could not be more friendly and helpful with information, and the shuttle back and forth to the Metro was really helpful. The whole staff was helpful and pleasant which we really appreciated as it was our first visit to Washington D.C. I was rather scared to go to Washington at first, but the staff gave us Metro schedules and gave us information that was very helpful. We had a great visit, and they took a lot of the stess out of being in a new city. The Wellses

So-So For The Money

My wife and I stayed at the hotel for a birthday getaway. The service we got from all the staff was excellent. The location is great being next to the mall and several shopping centers. But because our room was not cleaned properly and was dustier and dirtier than most hotels stayed at, we can only give 3-stars and not the 4-stars we would have given had our room been a little cleaner. All said, the Holiday Inn Gaithersburg is a good value for the money.

poor service during check in...no one around. downstairs under construction, messy. Rooms were ok. Price is outragous for the low quality rooms and service.

A pleasant Holiday Inn in a nice location

Pros: Less than half the price of Holiday Inns in Baltimore/Washington. Located right off the 280, a 45-minute drive into downtown Washington. Clean room and comfortable bed. Pleasant bar and lobby area. Newspaper delivered to door. Super friendly front desk staff. Attractive indoor pool and spa with an arcade room. Shopping Centre within walking distance. Cons: Business centre (two computers overlooking the pool area) did not work over the two-day stay. Poorly designed parking lot. Overall, a very enjoyable experience.

Won't go back

I had numerous problems out of the "free" shuttle service to the Metro. I essentially had to beg for it everyday that I used it. More or less they picked us up or dropped us off when it was convient for them. They consistently lied to us about the availability. The room was okay but could not out weigh the poor service.

Great except for one thing ...

The hotel was great for the most part. The fitness center was excellent! The rooms were clean and housekeeping was dutiful and efficient. The Irish pub/sports bar in the basement was also great! Robby the bartender was the best! Internet access was free at this hotel. I was at an "upscale" hotel on business for the first part of my trip and they charged 10 bucks a day for internet access. What a rip-off! The only complaint I have about this hotel is that I was totally ignored at breakfast one morning. Needless to say that was the only morning I went to their restaurant for breakfast as I was so angered about the treatment. Everything else was excellent! Maybe the breakfast staff was having a bad day or something; however they didn't have to ruin my meal and cause me to have a bad morning also. That was the only downer in an otherwise excellent 5 day stay.

Right in the middle of it all!

Convienently located in the heart of gaithersburg, germantown, quince orchard and rockville areas. Highway access within view of the hotel. Fabulous restaurants, shopping and entertainment are less than 5 minutes away. Great value and a friendly staff make this hotel top in my book in the DC metro suburban area.
