Location is very central to everything
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/22/11
Location is very central to everything. I was treated very well when a loud group occupied the next room. I was given a different room for the night and I greatly appreciated that service. Overlooking the water, seeing the sunrise.

Seedy
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/1/09
We were there for the North Atlantic Blues Festival in July 2009 for three days and paid $200 plus tax per night. The front desk staff is friendly, however, they must be short staffed in the cleaning dept. There was debris on the floor upon arrival and was never vacumned. I found the previous guests' bathroom garbage pail in the bathroom vanity on my last day which was a bit disturbing. The bed was made each day but the garbage pail in the bedroom was never emptied. It is an old and tired place and certainly not worth $200 a night plus tax. For this kind of money, you would think you'ld at least get a hair dryer in your room, an air-conditioner that functioned and a room that smelled fresh. Shame on them for not taking care of the plumbing. Not to be gross, but the toilet had to be flushed NUMEROUS times. Twice, there was a back up splatter in the sink and I don't know what THAT was about. If I paid $69 for the room, I would say I got what I paid for. However, this was not the case, paying the exorbitant rate that I did. I want to add, the light bulbs are very dim and I think it's on purpose, because the walls are grungy and the place overall needs a good "sprucing" up.

Not that pleased
By yahoo contributor, 6/22/09
Our room was on lower level, yes it was a cheaper one but did not even have towel racks let alone a hair dryer. Older towels and blankets were pilled. Beds were hard and squeaky. It was relatively clean and quiet, however, and staff was friendly. Restaurant had great food. If you are looking for cheaper than the rest with convenience to downtown , it was okay.

Another great stay!
By marie t, 8/4/07
We just got back from spending 5 days at the Lobster Festival, and our stay at this hotel was outstanding... yet again. This is the fourth year we've stayed here, and have already made our reservations for 2008! From the managers to the cleaning staff.. everyone is courteous, helpful, friendly, etc... always met by a smiling face when you walked in, and if we needed anything, it was ther in a heartbeat! The view is spectacular from every room, and the breeze on the balcony is refreshing, especially in the warm weather... Looking forward to our stay next year! :)

good place to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/17/07
Very good place to stay for the money. We have stayed at the Navigator several times (5 to 10) and have only been dissappointed once due to the noisey people leaving the lounge, and the elephants walking on the floors above us. It is a great place to stay and explore downtown Rockland, you can walk anywhere from here. Also easy access to the ferry and bus terminal just across the street. We will be back again !!!!

Would Stay Here Again
By bugggs, 4/9/07
We spent over 20 days a month in motels and in this price range, this is one of the better motels we have stayed in. Room was clean and front desk attendant was very friendly. The only complaint is that the walls are a little thin. When in Rockland, we will definitely stay here again.

just right
By Erin, 7/22/06
I love the navigator, I have been staying there for years and find the service fine, and the location can't be beat. It is perfectly located at the beach, shopping areas and resteraunts--all in a short walking distance! I will continue to return to the navigator for the price and location-it can't be beat. The options of regular room, mini suite, or full view and balcony always seem fit my need if I am alone, bringing the kids, or traveling with a group. Very conveinient!

Had no choice
By Mamakin, 7/14/05
The hotel room was very disappointing. The room was filthy and they were annoyed when we asked for bedding for the bed in the couch. We also had to ask for a sheet to put over the couch because it was so nasty. Bathroom was dirty. We had no choice but to stay due to everything being booked. Our balcony was on a roof so there was no view as promised. It smelled bad. There was a cigarette butt on the floor by the bed as well. We traveled so we had to stay. The buffet breakfast was a disappointment as well. They were unprepared, running out of plates then running out of food. All in all we were very disappointed in our room.We booked a year in advance because of the North Atlantic Blues Festival so we were bummed that it was such a nasty room. All hotels were booked.
