Seedy
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/01/09
We were there for the North Atlantic Blues Festival in July 2009 for three days and paid $200 plus tax per night. The front desk staff is friendly, however, they must be short staffed in the cleaning dept. There was debris on the floor upon arrival and was never vacumned. I found the previous guests' bathroom garbage pail in the bathroom vanity on my last day which was a bit disturbing. The bed was made each day but the garbage pail in the bedroom was never emptied. It is an old and tired place and certainly not worth $200 a night plus tax. For this kind of money, you would think you'ld at least get a hair dryer in your room, an air-conditioner that functioned and a room that smelled fresh. Shame on them for not taking care of the plumbing. Not to be gross, but the toilet had to be flushed NUMEROUS times. Twice, there was a back up splatter in the sink and I don't know what THAT was about. If I paid $69 for the room, I would say I got what I paid for. However, this was not the case, paying the exorbitant rate that I did. I want to add, the light bulbs are very dim and I think it's on purpose, because the walls are grungy and the place overall needs a good "sprucing" up.

Not that pleased
By yahoo contributor, 06/22/09
Our room was on lower level, yes it was a cheaper one but did not even have towel racks let alone a hair dryer. Older towels and blankets were pilled. Beds were hard and squeaky. It was relatively clean and quiet, however, and staff was friendly. Restaurant had great food. If you are looking for cheaper than the rest with convenience to downtown , it was okay.

Let me Out of here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/16/08
Walls a paper thin. Motel is geared to loud, festival partying. If you want to stay drunk and smoke all night, this is the place for you. the management encourages and defends this activity. If you want to sleep and rest, get outta town.

Another great stay!
By marie t, 08/04/07
We just got back from spending 5 days at the Lobster Festival, and our stay at this hotel was outstanding... yet again. This is the fourth year we've stayed here, and have already made our reservations for 2008! From the managers to the cleaning staff.. everyone is courteous, helpful, friendly, etc... always met by a smiling face when you walked in, and if we needed anything, it was ther in a heartbeat! The view is spectacular from every room, and the breeze on the balcony is refreshing, especially in the warm weather... Looking forward to our stay next year! :)

good place to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/17/07
Very good place to stay for the money. We have stayed at the Navigator several times (5 to 10) and have only been dissappointed once due to the noisey people leaving the lounge, and the elephants walking on the floors above us. It is a great place to stay and explore downtown Rockland, you can walk anywhere from here. Also easy access to the ferry and bus terminal just across the street. We will be back again !!!!

Would Stay Here Again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/09/07
We spent over 20 days a month in motels and in this price range, this is one of the better motels we have stayed in. Room was clean and front desk attendant was very friendly. The only complaint is that the walls are a little thin. When in Rockland, we will definitely stay here again.

just right
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/22/06
I love the navigator, I have been staying there for years and find the service fine, and the location can't be beat. It is perfectly located at the beach, shopping areas and resteraunts--all in a short walking distance! I will continue to return to the navigator for the price and location-it can't be beat. The options of regular room, mini suite, or full view and balcony always seem fit my need if I am alone, bringing the kids, or traveling with a group. Very conveinient!

Ooops I messed up
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/27/05
Just wanted to say that when I wrote the follow-up to the rebuttle the Navigator Inn wrote. I said that I was the only one staying in that room. That was incorrect , what I meant was I was the only one staying in the room that had anything to say on the yahoo opinion site. There were 6 of us in the "suite". The point was that when the people from the Navigator saw a negative opinion they sent back our deposit and told us to find an other hotel rather than try to remedy the problem. They also stated on the Yahoo site that what I said was untrue. (it was true) That was point #1. Point #2 is that out of six people paying for that room I was the only one who said anything on the yahoo site (it asked for an opinion by the way) yet the room was cancelled for all of us. Anyway I just wanted to repair that error. Thanks

A Follow-up
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/03/05
It is too bad that the Navigater Inn asks what we thought about our stay at their hotel. I gave my honest opinion and as a result they cancelled our room for next year. They also wrote on the postings that what I said was not true. They also said that the room was booked by us for the following year. Yes the guy that rented the room did in fact book a room for the next year BUT he requested another room. Also I was only one person who stayed in that room yet the ownwer of the hotel cancelled the room for everyone. I guess they shouldn't have asked for an opinion when they aren't ready to hear it. It was totally unfair for them to cancell the room for the 5 other people in that room when one person gave their opinion. I stick to what I say and disagree with their evaluation. The room we stayed in was not renovated and it was very dirty. Anyway it is okay as we will find a better place to stay but I want people to be aware that if they dare give their honest opinion they risk loosing their room as the people running the hotel do not know how to do business in a fair way. Very unprofessional to cancel a room because one member of a party gives an opinion that was asked for.
