BEST WESTERN Merry Manor Inn, South Portland

stayed with a group & was happy with this older yet updated south portland hotel. easy access to downtown portland, I95/I295 as well as a local mall with MANY restaurants to choose from (incl 1 local restaurant next door which we never tried). per a prev review, rooms were indeed small but beds were comfortable & ours came w/ a gratis microwave & small fridge. fair exercise room, nice size jacuzzi but no real indoor pool (there is what appears to be a very small indoor pool which i assume is for children based on its diminutive size). gas stations w/ convenience stores are right next door in addition to a 24 hr 7/11. free wireless internet connection is provided but signal faded at the back of the room.

I liked the personnel and service, having stayed there 2 or 3 days a week for an entire year working as a consultant. The pool, whirlpool were fabulous, and close by was Governors next door with great food selections, Tony Romas restaurant just a block or two away, and ready access to Rt 95 and Rt 295 to get to Portland or wherever one was going. There are also some small 7-11 type stores next door as well with gas stations. Location and serivce is everything. In fact because I stayed there so often, if I got in late after the pool closed, they would open it for me to use. I give this motel and its Owners and staff an "outstanding" rating

I was quite pleased with my stay here. Rooms were a bit on the small side, but they were clean. No worries about cleanliness. Nice continental breakfast. Convienent location. I would stay here again.
