Place D Armes Hotel French Quarter, New Orleans

I truly fell in love with this hotel. Very charming comfortable rooms, mine was overlooking the courtyard which is very peaceful. It is located right in the heart of the French Quarter. I walked to everything, one block to Bourbon Street, across from the St. Louis Cathedral, Cafe du Monde, shopping, riverwalk, no need for transportation when staying at the Place D'armes. I should add that I was alone for the first 2 days of my trip and walked back and fourth to my hotel several times druing the evening hours and felt very safe. I met up with friends at a different hotel later on that week and found myself wishing we could have booked the remainder of our stay at Place D'armes. They have a wonderful continental breakfast each morning. 5 stars!!! Make sure to ask for a courtyard room with windows. I had a deluxe room and it was fantastic. Price very reasonable.

This hotel was recommeded by the local tourist information office for an excellent price, however the rooms provided in this price range were similar to hostel/backpackers standard. During our stay, which we cut short and moved on to a better hotel, their seemed to be problems with the air conditioning in several rooms and a leak in others. Won't be going back there and won't take advice from the New Orleans tourest office again.

Perfect location, felt like we were in our own little hideaway. We walked to everything from this location. I felt very safe, the flowers were beautiful, that was one of the things that attracted us to this hotel. I searched on the internet for several months trying to find the perfect spot, it was everything they said it was. My only complaint was one of the parking attendents who was a little rude, when we asked for our truck, we paid to park and i don't think they should question how many times you ask for your auto.

Good location if you don't want to use your car while you stay in the quarter. Ok service. If you are scared of ghosts don't stay here. There was at least one in my room. Other than that, I wish that there had been caffeinated coffee in the room instead of decaf packs.

You don't really go to NOLA to spend your time in a hotel but I have to tell you I wasn't impressed. I had read a bunch of great reviews about this place though came across others that weren't so hot. The place is filthy. The shutter door on the bathroom is covered in dust, stains all over the carpet, and a lumpy bed. There was a two inch gap under the door and beleive me, there are mice all over the place. Don't even think about switching rooms becasuse they won't do it. Great location is about all this place has going for it. Spend a few extra dollars for an updated hotel.

We loved this hotel. Not only was it close to everything we wanted to do and see, it was a great price. The staff was courteous, the rooms were clean, and it was quiet. The pool area and courtyard are very relaxing, even though I felt the courtyard could be better maintained and the bar opened. Great place. LOVED IT!!!!

I came here with some friends in the Summer of 2005- two weeks before Hurricane Katrina. We had a room with double beds on the bottom floor that looked towards the courtyard. We had heard that the hotel was haunted but didn't think anything of it since that's just a NOLA "thing" for tourists, right? So, on the last night of our stay, I was sleeping with a friend in one bed and a friend was sleeping in the other (three of us in the locked room). I woke up in at around 5:00 a.m. because I felt cold and sat up just in time to see the blanket, not the sheet, slide off the foot of the bed. I thought it was strange but I was disoriented from sleep so I just crawled over and pulled the blanket back up. I laid down and held the blanket up over my head (that's how I usually sleep). Just a few moments later, I felt the blanket pulling away. Instinctively, I grabbed the blanket with both of my hands and held it as tight as I could, yanking away from the foot of the bed. There was definitely a force holding and pulling it away, something that was strong that it finally ripped the blanket out of my grip and onto the floor. Then, my friend in my bed woke up and asked me what was happening after witnessing the end of my tug-of-war. We freaked out and ran out of the room and into the courtyard. We only went back into the room a few hours later to pack up and check-out. It was the scariest thing that's happened to me and definitely challenges my skepticism on these "haunted" places. Hotel is wonderful, great charm, I'd be back if I weren't scared to death of weird stuff happening.

It was nice and authenic, but in being old, we had mice in our room and the hotel was very casual about it............. They have many different styles of rooms, We were on the third floor with no window. It is old and filled with the essence of New Orleans.

THIS IS WHERE WE ALWAYS STAY. THE LOCATION IS THE BEST, THE PEOPLE ARE EFFICIENT, AND THE ATMOSPHERE IS WONDERFUL! WE WON'T STAY ANYWHERE ELSE IN NOLA!

This hotel is in an excellent location. Great for couples or honeymooners! Supposely a haunted hotel however we never saw any ghosts. Clean,rooms were average. Courtyard is beautiful. Nice little place.
