Good Location But
By ,
This hotel was Ok, however, it could use some work and perhaps a little more attention to detail. The smoke detectors in our daughters balcony room looked questionable. Halls and elevator could be cleaned. I realize that being the city there is a lot of dirt and grim, but if you own a hotel it is your job to make sure everything is spic and span. The courtyard needed the attention of a gardener. The location is excellent, close to the action but quiet. The staff were nice and friendly. I will probably not stay there again. I think for about the same money I could be just as close and in a better kept hotel or B & B.

love that grim
By ,
This property has great potential but unfortunately the grim is overwhelming. My family thinks the dirt, dust and krud build up has been there so long that they don't see it any longer. It is a shame. Perfectly located, the hotel desperately needs some TLC. The courtyard is shabby, dark, with dead plants everywhere. The hallway carpeting has not been cleaned nor vacumed for what looks like months. They blame the house keeping staff but as owners one would think they would have a bit more pride in their property. They get their money up front so you don't have much choice in staying. We felt they received their $1,000 for the week's lodging and their obligation stopped there. It is the first time ever in all our years of traveling that we was made to feel defensive when we asked to have our rooms cleaned over. This is a perfect example of a hotel brochure that is slick, but the only thing that is slick is the bathroom floor. As a guest, if you keep your eyes straight forward and don't touch anything, you will be fine.

Disgusting Room that made us physically ill!!!
By ,
I was really looking forward to staying at this hotel. All the correspondence I had with the owners leading up to my stay had been very pleasant and they were very accomodating. Once our party arrived, though, everything fell apart. We had two rooms for 3 days. One room had blood all over the comforter. This room stayed moist / damp feeling the entire weekend and everyone staying in it came home sick with chest colds. The second room had a horrible smell like sulfur for 2 out of 3 days and the sink, toilet, and shower were stopped up. We were not comped for our rooms and were not moved as they were at capacity. the rooms were not cleaned while we were there and didn't seem cleaned before we arrived. I would never want anyone to stay here!

Wow what a great place!
By ,
The Staff is top notch, and very eager to help in anyway possible. Will tell you the places to grab good food at reasonable prices. They are also all to happy to point you in the right direction and tell you anything you need to know to get around the town. The Hotel is located in a great area, with great atmosphere. It has its faults, but come on the place is very old. They are working on it all the time and trying to do justice to the old building. Very comfortable place to stay. Affordable! Clean! Quite! And just in general a nice little Gem in just the right location for everything. I will be back!!!

Great place, nice people
By ,
What a great place and inexpensive too! I have stayed here several times over Jazz Fest weekends and it has always been a restful experience! The location is nice because you can walk to Bourbon street one way and the French Market the other way. It is not in a congested area so it is quiet enough to sleep in if you want to. The crossiants with marmalade and the coffee in the mornings is a nice way to start the day! I recommend this place!

Peaceful & Elegant
By ,
What a GREAT location! This charming, old-world hotel's balconies-for-two overlook the convent graveyard across the street. Just far enough off the busy areas for a peaceful sleep, yet no more than a 5-10 minute leisurely walk to the French Market, Bourbon Street or Jackson Square. The staff is laid back and extremely accomodating. The courtyard of the hotel provides a delightful outdoor feel for afternoon reading or just relaxing. Rooms are wonderfully appointed with antique furniture and a warm, romantic feeling.

Will always stay here!

Two block from the French Market, Bourbon Street, and Jackson Square. Close to everything but far enough away to let you sleep if you want to. Wonderful architecture! I have been to New Orleans a few times and will now stay here any time I go back!!!
