Will never stay here Again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/13/09
What a rip off! I am not for sure what year the advertisement photo was taken but the rooms don't look like this. First of all, I called well in advance asking for a room with a whirlpool tub which the person on the phone I spoke with stated I could not book. They told me if one was available when I checked in I could then have it. What are reservations for? I was actually able to get a room with a whirlpool tub but it looked like it had not been cleaned in months. There was black mold around the tub and a disgusting film throughout the tub. I had to clean the tub myself before I was able to set foot in it. There was a leak in the ceiling apparently from the tub above us which came down in our bathroom...good thing we noticed it and no one fell! The wall paper was peeling off the walls and the carpet was filthy. I wondered if anyone even vacuumed the corners of the room. The few dishes that were provided in the cupboards were dirty...GROSS! Our fireplace was broken and was filthy as well. The furniture was dirty and stained. This hotel needs a total renovation. The staff was less than friendly and the lady at the front desk barley spoke English. I was over charged for some refreshments in the tune of $12.00 which we never touched. I tried to speak with the manager but they would not give me his name and stated he was not there. There was no reasoning with the staff about this issue or our dissatisfaction. I don't see how they can charge the prices they do to stay here....be advised DON"T STAY HERE...go to the other nearby hotels!

This hotel should be CONDEMNED.
By Stasi B, 10/22/08
Black mold on ceiling through out the room, food splashed on walls (this was the 1st suite #412). In the 2nd suite (#311) the wallpaper was peeling off the walls. The sheets and towels were frayed and had wear holes in them. Linens did not seem fresh. Mattress on sofa bed was dirty and thin. The only positive thing I can say is that the staff I dealt with were nice.

horrible!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/20/08
Do not stay at this hotel. This is a dishonorable and corrupt hotel. When my husband and I were about to check-out, they tried to bill us $15 for items missing from the mini-bar BEFORE we arrived, as shown on their documentation. The people are the front desk could not understand this concept and were very disrespectful when talking to us. They said that would have to ask the person who was over vending at the hotel. Of course their walkie-talkies were not working and they could not find the person on any of the floors. The manager was not in and would not return until after we left. I were there for a family reunion and every person I spoke with had some problem with checking in or out in terms of how and what they were charged. You only get one key and place is doesn’t look nice at all. Staying there isn’t worth a dime. Save your money and your sanity!

WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/28/08
WHAT A DUMP. The desk people were very rude and not helpful. Our TV remote was missing and after calling the front desk 5 times we gave up...our remote never arrived. We stayed in the "Annex" which is suppose to be the "newer" part of the hotel. The fireplace screen was broken and lying on the floor and every time someone took a shower above us we found water coming from our ceiling on to our bathroom floor. We were never given a reciept when we left "because the computer system was down". Much to our surprise we were charged $8.00 in vending fees for two cans of soda and two waters that we never touched by us. There is no use calling the hotel to complain because they will not adjust your charges. Housekeeping must be pocketing the refreshments instead of cleaning the filty rooms..what a racket. BEWARE..what a rip off!

Wonderful Stay

Our stay at this hotel was great. The Clerks and were very professional, neat, and well spoken. We were checked in our room without delay. I liked that the Hotel was very close to the board walk and casinos. Most of all we really enjoyed the breakfast buffet. The only thing we disliked was there was no air-conditioning in the hallway and the elevators, also the old musty smell needs desperate attention. despite the lack of air-conditioning and the smell, I would definately stay at this hotel again.

BEWARE!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/02/08
My family and I stayed at this hotel for my friends wedding and it was a disaster from the start. We had to switch rooms because the pullout sofabed was in shambles; dirty, foam falling out, and the matress basically fell to the floor. Our next room wasnt any better; it was dirty, and the hairdryer in the bathroom was hanging by the cords and there was a hole in the wall from where it was coming off. The staff was rude, and not helpful at all. They advertise free breakfast buffet for their guests, and when we went down only 2 of us got to eat for free...and they were extremely rude about it. I do not recommend this hotel to ANYONE!

Traveler Beware
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/25/08
This place is falling down around thier feet & they act as if they don't care. We were put in a room next to the maids wash room where the noise from the appliances was more exceptable than those from the trains in the middle of the night or the racing traffic. Best Western, if this hotel represents what you want to be known form then I will only see you in my review mirror. The $155.00 we paid could have been cut in half and still we would have been over charged. Please don't ask for a manager as there was bot one available.

Decent Hotel
By KA7JUN, 04/20/08
The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast included is great, including fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, grits, biscuits and gravy, yogurt and a selection of juices and coffee. Great location to downtown activities.

cheated us !
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/02/08
When my husband and I decided to go to Shreveport for a night for our three year anniversy, we knew we didnt have a ton of money to spend, but wanted a room with a jacuzzi tub. When we contacted Best Western about the room that on the website says they have a whirlpool tub, they were very helpful and told us the suite that was more expensive did have the tub we were asking for. When we checked in, my first impression of the hotel was kind of nice, but shabby and worn out. When we got to the room, we looked in the bathroom and saw a plain shower/tub that looked kind of dirty. So when we called the front desk saying we didnt get a whirlpool tub, they sent a man up to show us how to turn on the faucet and operate the waterworks, like we didnt know how to turn on a shower! When we explained we were supposed to be in a room with a whirlpool tub, the guy said, "I dont know what to tell you, man, all the tubs are like that." So basically we paid overprice for a suite with a plain tub. Next time we'll stay somewhere else!

Once was enough.....
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/02/07
Our tour group spent one night in this hotel on a return trip from Branson, MO. Our major problem was that the lighting in the bath room was not working, and we had a table lamp with the cord running behind the water faucets. Safety hazard? There was only one glass in the room; however, after leaving a message on the housekeeping phone, we never did receive another glass. Room lighting was poor, and there was an accumulation of debris seen behind the bed from lack of vacuuming when the bedding was turned back for sleeping. There was a note seeking patience since they were in a renovating process. However, these problems had nothing to do with renovation.
