wife sick needed place to stay
By dasie, 8/9/09
we arrived early, there were races that weekend so the hotel was full.the room wouldnt be ready till noon.so we went to eat and when we returned;they were appolegetic for something that was out of thier control ;we understood why the room wasn't ready but they still gave us an upgrade even though we didn,t ask for one. the owner didnt tell me she was the owner and came out to meet our jack russell "captain jack".I can really say after meeting the owner and finding out through housekeeping who i was speaking with .IT really surprised me how cordial, caring and kind the owner was.what blew my mind was she asked me. when we went to eat while waiting for our room;she was really concerned.I reassured her that jack was left in the car while we left it running and with the a/c on.Couldnt he lock you out she asked.I laughed! she looked concerned that maybe because the room wasn't ready that maybe jack was at risk.I reassured her and told her that we had the remote; that we carry when we leave the car running to keep jack comfortable. She was relieved.I said to her if I left him in the car witout the a/c i'd deserve to be shot."Jokingly".she laughed and said maybe. I've never felt the genuine empathy and concern for our dog as we did here. the room has coffee, fridge with freezer a desk and plenty of jacks to plug too.large clean rooms sheets and comforters smelt so clean.clean bathroom.large areas to walk the animals in the back and side of property.

We will never go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/4/09
When we first got to the room the faucet was running a hot water stream in the tub and it would not shut off. We informed the front desk and were told that the hotel was full and there was nowhere to move us and there wasn't anybody there to fix it. We stayed 2 nights and it ran the whole time. It obviously was not a recent problem since the water stream had warn the pain off of the tub. The floor lamp did not work and the room smelled a little musty. We has a special rate since we were there with a group. When we checked out they charged us a much higher rate and had to argue with the front desk clerk to get it changed. The facitilities in general were not in very good repair. The a/c didn't work in one of the other guests room in our group and it was late July. You could not pay us to stay at that hotel again.

More coffee
By Thunder Cat, 5/24/07
Not a bad place & the price is right. There was no charge for the dog which was great. Beds are very comfortable! My main complaint - no coffee in the room and the lobby coffee is taken up at 09:00. Also, the breakfast buffet ends at 09:00, which I think is an hour too early. A big plus is the area to walk the dog. It's large enough to throw a tennis ball or frisbee and exercise pets. We did have a problem with an intermittent internet connection (wifi) that was very frustrating. All in all, a nice place to stay.

Holiday Inn E-Town, KY
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/12/04
I've stayed in better, and I've stayed in worse. The facility is old and is in need of some refurbishing attention. The rates (during Kentucky Derby weekend) were way out of line for the quality, but there were even Brits staying there along with 70+ KY National Guardsmen who were providing security for the Derby. Of course the rates would be artificially inflated to take advantage of Derby-goers. The biggest positive (and negative at the same time) is its proximity to I-65. It overlooks one of the exits and is convenient if you're looking to jump back on I-65 to go north or south, but noisy for outer ring rooms. There is a nice cluster of restaurants nearby and E-Town has even more dining and shopping available. All-in-all, a pretty basic Holilday Inn.
