Are you kidding me?
This motel doesn't even deserve a rating! I felt like I stepped back in time in this motel. The staff was absolutely horrible in answering any questions we had. The doors in the bathroom had the wood paneling peeling off of it. There wa mold around the bathroom door jam. The carpet was old enough and had shrunk up enough that it didn't completely cover the floor. I could go on and on. If it were not part of a trip package that I won I would have turned around immediately and left.

We will never go back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/29/08
This establishment was very overpriced. The staff were not helpful and completely ignored our compliants. We were quoted one price and charged double. Yet, no one was willing to assit use with billing or quality concerns. The rooms were old, outdated and the sound quality was terrible. We were charged $220.00 for the Bates Motel!!!!! Please consider going somewhere else!!!!

Worth The Price
By Matthew, 11/12/07
The rooms where a little outdate, but clean and the hotel is a good location to downtown and the fairgrounds/Churchill Downs. You better hurry and stay here because the staff tells me it is being torn down in Dec. 2008. I booked the room on priceline for $45 per night . . .definately worth it.

won't stay again
By Cook, 4/23/07
the next time I am in Louisville I will stay at a Super 8 motel or some where like that. The water in the bathtub ran all the time. The fan in the bathroom had wires hanging out of it. The ice machine keep makeing a loud noise all night. I was also charged $95.00 a day and now seeing this add for $79.00 a day.

Charming, though out-dated
By TinaA, 6/2/06
Although the hotel is a bit out-dated, I have always enjoyed my time there. I must admit, it's been a couple years since my last visit to the property, but I remember the outdoor pool and Snack Shack very fondly. Music and karaoke, and some great food and drink. The fitness area with indoor lap pool are not things you find in your run-on-the-mill hotel, and I enjoyed being able to continue my workouts on the road. The staff in the Health club was always very pleasant and helpful. The families at the hotel really seem to enjoy the facilities as well, and the outdoor pool is always crowded, so get there early. Just seconds away from Six Flags and the KY Fairgrounds, it's definately priced right. Just be careful when you go, because if the Fairgrounds is busy, so will the hotel be. Executive West is nice as well, its sister property. Classier indoor pool, and you can use both facilities. I never had dinner at Executive Inn, but I always loved breakfast and lunch in the Tudor Room (still open?) If you want a new construction, do not stay. It's true this place could use some renovating. But if you're looking for a place with nice people and charm, and you can overlook some minor details, I think this is a great value.

I love the location it is seconds from the airport, a large amusement park and the fairgrounds. I can't say enough good things about the staff there.

I like the place. I was there a long time ago. I enjoyed it. I would've liked it better if they had a hot tub!!!!`

What a dump!
By JRLittlejohn, 7/17/05
This hotel has seen much better days. At first glimpse, the hotel is attractive from a distance, but upon entering the hotel, the facility is obviously run down. The hallways were poorly ventilated and had the smell of smoke and the rooms were musty with soiled carpets and run down furniture. The upkeep is poor at best. The location is not bad and is in close proximity to the airport and the fairgrounds. The food was mediocre. I would definitely recommend steering clear of this hotel. If renovated, this could be a very attractive hotel but renovation is obviously not in the plans. The positive reviews are a surprise as the reviewers are seeing a different facility than I am or may be from the facility itself.

Disappointed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/5/05
Our group booked 60+ rooms for 4 day event at Expo Center. Room transfers were common due to A/C problems, broken plumbing, musty smell, airport noise. Three floor hike to find a working ice machine (elevator was broken). We were trapped there by the early departure penalty "fine print". Never again.

Stay somewhere else!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/27/05
The pictures on the the hotel's website are very misleading. I booked a suite for a family weekend trip. Our room was located on the 5th floor. The elevator did not work! There were no signs to help you navigate thru the hallways. When we finally reached our room and opened the door, I was shocked. There was an old musty smell in the room. The bed was sagging! The furniture was old and beat up. It looked like it had been purchased from a garage sale. Needless to say, it was just horrible! I immediately went downstairs and checked out. The only positive thing I can say about this hotel is the front-desk staff. They were extremely polite!
