Charming, though out-dated
Although the hotel is a bit out-dated, I have always enjoyed my time there. I must admit, it's been a couple years since my last visit to the property, but I remember the outdoor pool and Snack Shack very fondly. Music and karaoke, and some great food and drink. The fitness area with indoor lap pool are not things you find in your run-on-the-mill hotel, and I enjoyed being able to continue my workouts on the road. The staff in the Health club was always very pleasant and helpful. The families at the hotel really seem to enjoy the facilities as well, and the outdoor pool is always crowded, so get there early. Just seconds away from Six Flags and the KY Fairgrounds, it's definately priced right. Just be careful when you go, because if the Fairgrounds is busy, so will the hotel be. Executive West is nice as well, its sister property. Classier indoor pool, and you can use both facilities. I never had dinner at Executive Inn, but I always loved breakfast and lunch in the Tudor Room (still open?) If you want a new construction, do not stay. It's true this place could use some renovating. But if you're looking for a place with nice people and charm, and you can overlook some minor details, I think this is a great value.
