Could not wait to check out!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/29/11
This it truly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in! the roof was leaking, 5 gallon buckets, catching water were overflowing on to the carpet! we asked to be moved to another room, the second room had a broken bed, but it was made! the third room had a faulty lock on the door you had to slam it for it to lock, the carpet had red stains on it...was it a former crime scene? i would suggest that the owners fire the whole staff, bulldoze the building and start over!

great place
By tim, 9/22/09
this is the best place to hang out its relaxing a little old but has awsome food and beverages. the staff will try to acomidate any thing, in my eyes its a little resort in south bend 1.75 miles away from notre dame. they have a bar , restaurant, free hot breakfast, and shuttles to take you to all the games.

FILTHY!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/25/07
Filthy is the only word that comes to mind! The first impression was the dark, damp, and unclean hallway leading to our room. Then the door did not open properly, and had to be sort of "jimmied" open. The room was disgusting. The white light switches were so dirty that they were turning black, and there was grime and hair on the bathroom floor! It was freezing outside, and felt about the same in our room. I had the heat turned up as high as it would go, and it hardly took the chill out of the air. I would NEVER stay here again! Also, the group I was with had a luncheon there, and it was not much cleaner in that part of the hotel either, and the food was terrible! STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL! Unless of course if you are coming for a big party and don't want to have to worry about staining the carpets after a long night of drinking, as that was already done!

NEVER AGAIN
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/22/07
Our group has been staying at this Quality Inn for several years and we have watched in horror at the deterioration of the facilities from year to year! There is a definite damp and musty feeling and smell to the entire building. The ventilation and interior walls need to be checked for mold- several people in our group with allergies ended up sick. The staff at the front desk gave away rooms in our block despite a contract that guaranteed us those rooms. When questioned about this mistake the staff were rude and unaccommodating. We paid too much for such a filthy hotel.

Never again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/22/07
This is our last stay at Quality Inn, South Bend. An "event week", over-priced and horrible value, our group is finally convinced that NO WAY will we stay here again, for the following reasons: - We all bring fans to cool our rooms. My room never cooled below 72 degrees and averaged 77 degrees the entire week. -Rooms are SO humid and musty. A bath towel will not dry in 24 hours. - Hotel gave away several of our reserved-a-year-in-advance block of rooms. - Carpets are filthy and damp, in rooms and halls. If you have allergies, be assured that mold must be growing everywhere. - No microwaves or refrigerators. - "Free" breakfast, few choices, always the same, no real value. - Rooms are very small. - Prices are going UP for next year, despite all the negative feedback. (On the plus side, maintainance & housekeeping staff friendly and kind.)

Great location, horrible value
By Alice, 7/22/07
PROS: Good location, close to Notre Dame and many sites. Maintenance Staff did attempt to fix problems. CONS: Hotel rooms and commons area are very dirty. Rooms damp and musty. Room would not cool below 74 degrees. Needed to buy fan to manage. Rooms are small. No fridge or microwave. Was there during "event week", overall a horrible value. Several people with our group had their rooms "given away."

Terrible experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/22/07
My room was damp and musty smelling. Everything felt "wet". The carpeting was extremely dirty and the bedding had stains on it. The breakfast selection was minimal. Water was dripping from the ceiling in the dome area. Very poor air circulation in the rooms. Would not recommend to anyone. Very overpriced for what you get. Cleaning crew and general workers were very nice. Management and front desk was not helpful or friendly.

We loved this hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/26/07
My husband and I loved spending New Years Weekend here. The hotel was nice and clean, the room was great!!! The shower is huge and the room had all the ammenities you could ask for, even free wireless internet. The free breakfast served was excellent with alot of choices. And even the room price was great! Actually I booked online and was sceptical because the price was so good, but when we got there and stayed, we couldnt believe it would be that good for that price.. We will stay here again if we ever get back to South Bend. Thanks again, Shannon M.

Family Vacation
By Jenilee, 11/29/06
We travel through South Bend once or twice a year on our way to visit family in Iowa. This is the first time that we stayed at the Quality Inn and we will DEFINATELY stay there again. It is a great value - breakfast, pool, games and kiddie pool. Our girls loved it. It isn't the newest hotel or the cleanest, but the room was clean and the breakfast area was clean and nice. Recommend to any family traveling through South Bend. Not a bad drive to restaurants and shopping either. GREAT STAY@!!
