This hotel is the pits!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/4/08
I just came back from a business trip in Angola. The only saving grace to this visit was the positive end result of the business trip. Ramada Inn in Angola was disgusting at best. First, I thought the pictures on the Internet were a bit deceptive. I thought the rooms and exterior of the hotel would be better than I found them to be. Second, the exterior door leading into the hotel would not close completely. Although this is nice to have happen when you are unloading your car and don't have the key card. However, it can become a security issue. Third, the hallways were dimly lit and antiquated looking. The ceiling tiles looked dirty. Fourth, there should be more non-smoking rooms. We do not smoke but settled for a smoking room, as there were not any non-smoking rooms left in the inn. The room and bedding smelled very smoky. Fifth, the odor from the bathroom tap water was horrid. It smelled a little like a mixture of raw eggs and fish. The odor also could be smelled when taking a shower. Sixth, the bathroom itself is very small. Seventh, I found a used Q-Tip on the floor and a hair in the tub/shower combo. This makes me wonder how attentive housekeeping staff is. Eighth, I could not find a telephone directory in the room. Ninth, Way,way overpriced. I have stayed at much cheaper hotels and had a much better experience than at this dump. Please, don't let the photos deceive you, this is a horrible place-I am not a disgruntled Ramada Inn co-worker. I just came back from Angola today. I could not wait to share my experience with you.

ABSOLUTELY HORRID!!
By Gina, 7/12/08
Absolutely HORRID!!!! My family and I had to change rooms 3 TIMES and still was in a disgusting room--The first room had a terrible odor in the room as well as the bedding and a ANT Problem in the restroom-2nd room had sticky carpet in the room and pubic hairs all over the place in the restroom and room phone didn't work-3rd room the restroom had more body hairs all over it, I cleaned it the best that I COULD and then in the middle of the night I went into the restroom and there was a "COCKROACH" I had 2 teenagers that were sleeping and were exhausted from traveling and walking all day and I didn't want to wake them up-I however was up the whole night and the minute they woke up we got out of that place with NO SHOWERS and none of us even brushed our teeth--I spoke to the Manager in the morning who told me that she would have the General Manager contact me and that they would send a gift card. No one has appologized or sent a gift card. That was the worst night of my life. That place is filthy and when I contacted the front desk repeatedly as we had our room changed she refused to give me back our money so we could go elsewhere.

Nice Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/12/08
Good hotel with very nice free breakfast. Also they sell ice cream in the lobby very nice. On-site Bennigans was nice to have also. Location was right off 1-69 easy on and off. Was in town for an overnight conference at the State Park.

Come on now! You call this a hotel?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/2/08
We are having a wonderful time in the worst hotel of the century. We couldn't get into the Potawatami Inn because it was all booked. Well, I ended up finding a Ramada in Angola, only several miles up the road from Pokagon. OH MY GAWD. It is the worst hotel I've ever experienced in my 50 yrs. of life. Someday it will be a joke for us, but right now it saddens me. First of all, the people who worked there were seedy and aloof. The room was dirty and wasn't ready when we arrived. Then, the Continental breakfast that they promised on the internet wasn't to be. They're under construction, which we didn't know, and the place was a mess and in order to go to the lobby, we had to go the long way around to get to it because of the construction. urggg.....Then, the water was well water and brown. The bathrooms were scummy. Our phone didn't work. The toilet ran. The restaurant was very good, though. They had a pool and ping-pong table with one normal paddle and one gnawed up one -- as if a dog chewed on it! We tried to play ping pong but it was difficult. Whenever Ileaned on the table, it would fold up! I complained and later there were a new set of paddles! No new table, though! The foos ball table was out of order and the Jacuzzi hot tub wouldn't work, was cold, scummy and had things floating on it. The pool table didn't have any sticks, but the heated pool was nice! Our rooms weren't cleaned for the next day's stay when we came back from hiking at 5:00pm and we had no cups, towels, and no one had changed our waste baskets. When we pulled into the parking lot, the parking lot hadn't been plowed and there was about 8 inches of snow in the parking spaces. They did give us vouchers to stay for our next time. Yea, right. Sorry....but I don't deserve to stay in a dump like this again. It was kinda like National Lampoon's Vacation to Tobagganing and the "Ramada". Don't stay here, ever!!!!!!!!!!!!

never another ramada
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/29/07
Absoloute disgrace to the name! Room had no heat, barely enough hot water to take a shower and was absoloutely filthy. First night we ate at the restaurant which had one staff member who took your order and tended bar and probably did the cooking. Then to make matters worse I left somthing of value behind and when I tried to get it back I was told that no one had seen it. Tried filing a complaint with corporate and basically was called a liar and then hung up on. Long story short ended vacation early and would gladly take a super 8 any day of the week. It's sad to see the standards these franchises are being held to.

this place is awful
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/12/06
I was initially quoted one rate for a room but when I asked for my AAA discount I was then quoted a much higher rate. All efforts to resolve the matter with management were unsuccessful.

Cool Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/4/06
The Ramada Inn is the ideal place to stay. We stayed there on our way from Fort Wayne to visit our family over Summer Break. It was great for our two kids, Ben(10) and Allie(13). The swimming pool is very nice and has lots of room. Book your next stay at the Ramada. The rooms are wonderful. We got two rooms. They were each very clean, and we loved them.Their decor was much nicer than other hotels. The service is wonderful. They always have your room ready on time. The kids were so glad that the room was ready on time. All the other hotels were always a few hours late. There are so many close resturaunts. It's also great to have a fitness room, and an in hotel resturaunt. Next time stay at the Ramada Inn!

Horrid...
By LMeese, 12/19/05
It was unclean, staff was not helpful, dining services were filthy, overpriced, and generally disgusting. The location was bad, driveway's a bear in the winter. I would have much rather been at the Potawatomi Inn, but alas they were booked. No one was helpful, most of them lazy, and I felt like camping in Decemeber would have been a better alternative. Beds not comfy either, thin walls, beyond dusty...
