Probably will not go back
By ,
Booked two rooms for one night stay. Check in is at 3PM arrived at the hotel at 5 PM mistake number 1 : We went to check in and the room was not ready. They asked us if we could wait. Check out is 12 noon don't understand why it wasn't ready even after two hours after checking time. The service representative was very apologetic hospitable. She tried her best to give us rooms next to each other. She gave us two other rooms a king size room and a double. Which is Great exactly what we was wanting. Big mistake number 2: First walked into the king size room loved the room. no problem. Walked into the double room and unbeknown to us we opened the door and the room was still inhabited with guest still in bed. Not a good situation for them or for us! Very embarrassing to say the least we very quickly left the room and went to the check-in desk again explained the situation we were just in and again the Rep was very apologetic and she gave us some complimentary items for the trouble and gave found us two other rooms. Mistake number three: when we arrived we had five heavy bags with us and instead of pay for valet service we self park saving us $15 dollars or so. We did not find out later that we could have parked on the third floor parking garage where it would have been easier to enter but instead we parked outside. I went inside to see about getting a baggage cart, I found one but was stopped very quickly by the valet he stated that they are are the only ones that can use them and if I would like to use there services I could. I declined and hauled the baggage up myself. I can't really say its their fault but I would think that they would let the guest use them or have extras available. Mistake number four: We found out that if you have a question don't ask the workers the desk clerks don't like that. After asking a question to one of the restaurant crew a bouncer type guy approached us and asked us what we were doing. I explained to him we had a question and he stated we need to talk to the check-in Rep. he was pretty perturbed. I'm glad we only stayed one night and not longer. Beds were very comfortable. Breakfast very expensive. Probably stay somewhere else next time.

not bad
By ,
I really enjoyed my hotel experience at the Hyatt Regency O hare. I treated my girlfriend to a three day weekend in Chicago. I chose this hotel because of the reviews of nice décor, the good service and reasonable price (@ $300 total including parking and breakfast-in-bed). And Hyatt delivered well. The self parking, however, is interesting to figure out as you would have to hike to get to main front entrance from the lot. It is easier to come in thought the back. My experience started at my approach to the front desk, when the attendant came up to us before we got up to the check-in counter. He made the whole check in experience smooth and easy as if he was expecting us. He also used my name throughout the check in process. The lobby is introduced by an elegant glass-like staircase, flanked by an upscale restaurant and a posh bar called the “Red bar”. The décor is chic with a modern theme, as if it was an airport atrium peppered with sleek couches and sitting areas. The king rooms here are the standard-sized, clean, fresh Hyatt room with desk. The bed was cozy. Although this Hyatt is not far from O hare, I didn't notice airplane noise or airport interference at night. I wasn't there during the day. I liked the awaken package breakfast-in-bed. I would submit my breakfast order the night before and room service would deliver the full breakfast. Room service were quick and courteous. The selection was awesome. I had the three-egg-omelet and begin waffle the next morning. The checkout process was easy. Hyatt has the option to do a web checkout. But I chose to checkout at the desk. In my case it was a matter of waiving a breakfast charges and putting the stay on my credit card.

Great place
By ,
Stayed here 4 nights for a sports show and sight seeing. We got a special for the show and paid $89 a night. Very nice and stylish hotel. Rooms were nice, beds were comfy as anything, nice lcd tv, good view. No free breakfast but they had a grea breakfast buffet (18.50 though). We got 30% off all food purchases though with room so it was more like $15. Also had a coffee shop that sold sandwiches and stuff open til 2am. Right across from convention center and the L is near by, short 1/4 mile walk. They need a pool and hot tub though but the fitness center was big and nice. The people were all very helpful and nice. Only thin is that self parking is $20 a night but we got i free with the deal so that was nice. In all, good place and enjoyed it, would satay again.

Great Service
By ,
I have to stay here often for business and there is a lot I like about this hotel. To clear a few things up, they renovated the public ares (not guestrooms) in early 2007. Currently they are renovating the guestrooms. The location is great if your traveling in and out of OHare, but if your looking for access to the city, Hyatt offers multiple locations in Chicago. I have always experienced great service whenever I vist, and I look forward to returning.

Wouldn't go back.
By ,
I stayed here for a few weeks. They boast 60 million in renovations. I don't think a penny of that was put into the rooms. Yeah the lobby is spectacular and that's about it. They have a restaurant on the premises but for someone like me $11 on a bowl of cereal is way too much. Forget about actually eating there. They have no pool, the fitness room includes only a small handful of equipment. The shuttle will only take you to the airport and no where else. The staffing isn't very friendly. My room was clean and always made up. The housekeeping doesn't leave shampoos and soap but maybe twice a week. And the toilets look like something out of a public restroom. Gross! If your looking for somewhere quiet this is NOT the place for you. It constantly has planes going through and there's always business travelers around whom are rather noisy. Im sure there are plenty of other BETTER places to stay in Chicago. Don't waste your money here!

Never Again!
By ,
We stayed at this property from April 10 through April 13, 2008 to attend the International Quilt Festival. When we booked the trip we knew we would be attending a convention at the Stephens Convention Center which is across the street toward the back of the hotel. Since we knew we would be on our feet all day and most likely carrying a lot of packages, we asked them if they offered a shuttle service prior to booking 4 rooms. They said they did, but we never once rode the shuttle as they would not pick us up when we called. Their excuse once was that they don't run the shuttle after 9 p.m. However, they would pick us up if we were going to/coming from O'Hare Airport, but would not drive around the block to pick us up. There were 40 of us waiting for the shuttle on a Friday evening (two people walking with canes) and they would not come. We tried again on Saturday, but since we wanted to leave the Center before the show closed at 7 p.m., they told us we would have to wait until 7 p.m., no exceptions. Yes, we were able to walk, but others in the group were not and had to take a cab. I sent an email to the hotel, but have not received a reply as of yet.

Overnight at Hyatt
By ,
Room was sufficient for an overnight stay while I was in town for a Convention. There was some noise from the outside - airplanes were landing on the side of the hotel where I was located. I had to climb a flight of stairs - no elevator for me. Room service delivered two fantastic meals. The operator for room service listened to my requests and the staff was very prompt with my meals.

Cannot recommend this hotel....
By ,
Unless you are strictly there for a convention next door. This hotel is isolated and you cannot walk anywhere. We stayed in the "executive wing" which is a fancy name for the rooms far away from the main lobby area(s). The in-room coffee maker is a cheap one-cup brewer with the worst/weakest coffee packets ever. No vending machines. A Coke will cost $3 in the gift shop. A plain small coffee at the same shop will cost you $3 . Car park was $28 per night!!!! Huge 30 passenger busses to/from the airport are really a hassle with 20-30 people on/off during the day. I have nothging positive to say about my stay here.
