Radisson Hotel at Star Plaza, Merrillville

I was amazed at the quality of the meals. Typically conference meals are adequate but this hotel must pay particular attention to how they prepare because everyone I talked with was delighted with the delicious food. I'd also compliment the staff overall. Everyone I cross paths with had a pleasant greeting. I'll go back in a heartbeat.

Our antique car club held it's national convention at the Radisson this past summer with over 1,000 members attending. We had a great experience! The management and convention staff were exceptional, making an overwhelming task very tolerable. The waite and desk staff were courteous, efficient and very attentive. The hotel is beautiful and large enough to accommidate all of our needs, both inside and out. One of the reasons we chose the Radisson was its central location. It is easily accessable by interstates and highways. It's close to shopping and many great resturants and points of interest. The hotel's resturants were very tasty as well. We have already recommended the Radisson in Merrillvllle to other clubs and will continue to do so.

This does not pertain to the hotel but to the Theatre. I and 6 others attended the Cooking Show on Monday night. First of all, it was very, very warm in there and with all those people that was not good. Second, we were in the front row in the balcony and when we walked down our row, the floor was so sticky that it was hard to keep my shoes on. I have never been so disgusted with the filth on that floor. I am not sure as to how sanitary the whole place was.

My Wife and I got married in the area and we had blocked off rooms for our guest. They overbooked and many of our out of town guest we forced to go back home. The next morning when I went to the front desk to see what went wrong they were very rude and couldn't of cared less.

I liked all the hott guys and the pool area was amazing.........it was the best time ever!!!!! The service was great and i really like all the rooms and just stuff like that................

My significant other and I stayed here in November. The front desk staff was friendly and efficient! Man! What a hotel! I got lost. (My bad direction sense-no doubt.) And had to repeatedly ask for directions. The front desk girl gave me a map and drew me a little line that I could follow. I still managed to get lost though. The in-hotel restaurant is wonderful. TJ Malhoney's has wonderful food and excellent service as well. I also noticed their housekeeping does a spectacular job! My only vice was that I left in the morning to go shopping and when I came back, I was informed that my husband had already checked out, even though he was still clearly in the room. The front desk might want to keep better record of who has left the building, just in case there is an emergency.

We did not like this hotel. We held an event here and they apparently overbooked their event space forcing us to hold our event in a smaller area. Customer Service does not exist at this hotel. Waitstaff was rude, dishes were dirty. The hotel is also a smoking facility. We had no idea. You can smoke anywhere inside the building. The weekend we were there - it just seemed to be a big party weekend with lots of drinking and parties in the hotel rooms. Overall - stay somewhere else. The hotel is overpriced and needs a lot of work in customer service.

I checked out the reviews about this hotel before I went to stay there. The service was awesome and the location is great. There was a sign posted at the front desk and I was even given a pamphlet at check-in stating the rules of the hotel. There is a zero tolerance for parties and individuals that get out of hand... as there should be. I go to hotels to get away from craziness and this hotel makes sure there's a soothing environment at all times. This hotel was and always will be one of my favorite places to stay!

Good customer service, clean rooms. Low end restaurant not open at night. Food at both restaurants excellent.

This is a great place to just get away and relax. While the children are enjoyin the 2 pools and arcade,the adults can enjoy the nightly bands during the summer. On saturdays they have a band out by the pool side. Very nice and exceptionaly clean. They also have great package deals for the family.
