The Waverton Hotel is located approximately two miles from Oak Brook Center Mall, seven miles from OHare International Airport, and 18 miles from downtown Chicago. Midway Airport is about 18 miles away. This location is also two miles from the Elmhurst Art Museum, four miles from Oak Brook Shopping Center, six miles from the Yorktown Shopping Center and Brookfield Zoo, nine miles from the OHare Expo Center, and 17 miles from Shedd Aquarium. Hotel amenities include the American restaurant, sports bar, and fitness center. The Mayan Adventure Indoor Waterpark has 24,000 square feet of wet and wild fun for all ages, including tube slides and plunge pool, lazy river, water basketball, swirl pool, and vortex pool. The hotel also offers laundry facilities, dry cleaning, and complimentary newspapers, parking and complimentary breakfast on weekdays. All rooms feature high-speed Internet access, cable TV, dataports, irons and ironing boards, air-conditioning, safes, coffeemakers, hairdryers, and clock radios. This hotel will be undergoing major renovations from September 2005 until approximately February 2006. The pool, recreation area, sauna, Jacuzzi, and fitness center will not be available.

Convenient

The rooms are clean, but the beds are horrible. There was a lot of noise in the halls all night long, even though you had to sign a paper saying that curfew was at 11pm, and you would get kicked out if you did not abide. The waterpark was average. They will definitely need to add some attractions to keep people coming back. The water was ice cold. Would probably never go back.

Roach Hotel in Elmhurst

Please do not look at the positive reviews. They are from the employees that work there. This place is so nasty. It did not always be like this. I checked out after I saw the roaches and the exposed electrical outlets, Save you money. The rooms are also nasty. If you dont believe me check it out before you check in. Look at the walls and the curtains in the room.

Disappointed

Before I get into the diapointments of this hotel let me say that the staff was very friendly and helpful. But, by no means is this a 2 1/2 star hotel. The water park and location were the reasons I chose this hotel. Although it was a decent water park for a hotel it was not worth the extra $15 plus tax per person. The online photo's of the room were very misleading. It was very obvious that they used the cheapest materiels available when they remodeled. The photo's on line shown a whirlpool tub in the room however, in actuality it was a pastic tub which the bottom moved up and down while showering and a cheap plastic tub surround lined with dingy caulk. Don't get me wrong the room was clean it was just subpar for the price. I booked the room for two days and I asked if I could cancel the second. They refused because I booked on line. I could have gotten a much nicer hotel just as conviently located to Chicago for less money but, no water park which we only used for 45 minutes anyway.

Good time for all

I just came back after 6 nights at this hotel.My family had alot of fun here. We have 2 kids 13 and 15. They had fun at the waterpark and stayed for hours. The room was always cleaned well and they gave us a cot for free. The only complaint was that at check in they advised us that the fee to enter the waterpark was not included in the $139 per night room fee. Very confusing but, after paying it and enjoying we felt it worth the cost.

Poor security

The security was awful. There were parties in the hallway all night long with yelling, swearing, and fighting. I called to complain 3 times before security looked into it. They let the party continue all night and my 7 year old daughter and I had no sleep. The desk staff and managment in the morning could have cared less. Poor management and poor security. The Waterpark was nice and that staff was helpful and friendly. The rooms are dark, worn and slightly dirty. Will never stay in this hotel again and most likely never another Holiday Inn. I'll stick with hotels chains that are family friendly and care to stay that way.

Indoor Water Park near home.

I reserved two rooms for 5 adults, 1 teenager, and 3 younger children. The hotel overall was clean and the service was good. The staff gave the kids free tokens for the arcade. The beds on the other hand were the worst I have ever slept on! The waterpark is small compared to the wisconsin dells parks and is mainly for children but they have two medium sized slides that kept us adults pretty busy. The tiping bucket in the kiddie pool area was fun and had us all running to it to get drenched. Overall the experience was good and if you have children they will have a good time. Good place to consider for a children's birthday party and you could rent a party room or one of their cabanas.Our room was $139/night which was fine but wouldn't pay more than that. Holiday Inn may want to add a few more attractions to their waterpark to attract more people to their hotel if they want to compete with the dells. Will go back to take my nephews.
