Bed Bugs
What a completely horrible experience. We reserved a block of rooms for a traveling student music group and upon check in, it was a complete bust. The front desk clerk lifted his shirt up to show us his new tatoo on his chest, which was not invited, he was totally unprofessional and I don't know how many times I heard him refer to guests as "dude". After check in, I went downstairs to purchase a bottle of water and while in the concession area, he called to me and said "Hey, pass me an iced tea to drink out of the cooler". He was helping a guest when he did this AND I was a guest. All of this rudeness would not have made me take time out of my day to write this, but what happened at 12:30am surely is enough.
I recieved a very upset call from one of the girls rooms. They had discovered bedbugs. Infact, they were crawling on one of the girls. We went on the internet to make sure that was in fact what they were, before getting totally alarmed. After we confirmed they were bed bugs, we pulled back the matress pad and found more. I got all of the girls luggage out of the room and into the hallway and had them start going through all of their belongings to make sure there weren't any in their things. I went downstairs to let the front desk clerk know and to get a new room.
When I told him what happened, he was unphased. He did not apologize a single time and didn't offer a new room, I had to ask for a new room for the girls. He acted like we weren't telling the truth. I went back upstairs and helped the girls look through their things. I was fuming at our treatment. We caught one of the bugs and brought it downstairs to show him we were telling the truth. Still no apology and all he said was "I'll tell maintenance".
The new room had dirt on the pillows and the room smelled of mold.
None of us on this trip need a four star hotel, all we ask for is a clean place to sleep and a somewhat courteous staff. We got none of these things. This was a terrible experience for all of us and hence the complaint.
