4 reviews for Regency Inn and Suites, Addison
i would stay here again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/14/08
I must say that I was a bit leery about staying at this property, after reading some of the other reviews! Several members of our extended family stayed here while attending family functions in Chicago. While the property is showing some signs of age on the outside they underwent a major renovation inside, it is clean and well-kept, with a friendly, attentive staff. The front-desk personnel took a liking to my "active" 8-year-old son, and looked after him as best they could. The pleasant housekeepers expeditiously brought us more towels, and checked in on an elderly aunt who was not feeling well. A maintenance man promptly and pleasantly responded to our room to repair a slow-running sink drain. We were in a room on the third floor with big windows facing an expressway (don’t know the name). I was concerned that the noise level would be high all through the night, but a front-desk clerk reassured me that the I wouldn’t even know and that the sound doesn’t reach the rooms; she was correct! I had a good night’s sleep and woke up refreshed and ready for my cousin’s big day. Our culminating family breakfast at the hotel was quite nice, and the food was tasty. There is a diner adjacent to the hotel that I highly recommend!! In summary, we had a pleasant and cozy stay at a good price. I hope the management and staff keeps this place in good condition for our next visit.

No Shuttle
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/16/07
My friend and I are in college and just do day trips. It was fine for just a roof over your head and late night crashing. The walls were a little thin, I would bring plugs. Unfortunatly, the website promised an airport shuttle service but in fact one did not exisit. The woman at the desk called a cab that only charged $25 but standard rate is about $60. CTA (Chicago Transit Authority bus and train system) service does not run out that far so the only way to get down is to get a cab from the hotel to the airport and take CTA to downtown it's at least going to cost $50 to get to the airport unless you have a car. It's pretty disappointing when you expect to have shuttle service and that being one of the reasons we selected that hotel then come to find out they don't even have one and didn't bother to change the website or Expedia.

Friendliest hotel in the area, I travel alot and meet alot of very bored hotel workers--these people know what hospitality means
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/17/07
Very friendly staff, huge very clean rooms, enjoyed our stay alot. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise and the lobby was always manned--not empty like alot of places.

Do NOT stay here, Please read before booking
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/01/07
The worst hotel I have ever stayed at! Cigarette butts on floor of nonsmoking level, cigarette burns in comforter of nonsmoking room. Wallpaper peeling away from wall in many places. Duct tape holding carpet down in my room. Room was incredibly hot, had to sleep with AC on in the middle of winter. Breakfast was a box of doughnuts or one choice of cold cereal. Over all I did not feel very comfortable sleeping here because of how dirty the hotel seemed to be. Got to hotel after midnight or I probably would not have stayed even one night. Rooms were nice sized if someone would just take the time to fix the hotel up to what standards a hotel should be. Definitely do not consider if you will be traveling with kids, they tend to put things in their mouths, and that seems very dangerous with this hotel.
