The overall atmosphere of Chestnut Mountain is something everyone finds to be a great escape from the daily grind.During summertime, activities include an alpine slide down 2,050 ft. of tailored track to the banks of the Mississippi. The scenic lift whisks you back to the top where, on a clear day, the view is as much the attraction as the ride down. The slide opens Memorial Day Weekend. Spring and Fall hours are weekends only. Children six and under must ride with an adult. Do not resist the temptation to take a 1.5 hour boat cruise on the Mississippi Explorer up the Mississippi. Wildlife viewing, historical vignettes, geological curiosities, and beautiful riverscapes make this one of the area's most compelling side trips.
