Fairbridge Hotel, Wheeling

I used to stay at this hotel when it was run by a different owner or management company and called The Executive Plaza Hotel & Conference Center. SInce the first of the year it has changed ownership to now be Fair Bridge Inn at the Executive Plaza. The hotel always seemed alittle bit outdated but the service was fantastic. The Front Desk people were kind and courteous, the rooms were clean and the Free Hot Breakfast was the best that I have ever had in a hotel. Now, there seems to be some type of lack of attention to the hotel and property itself. The parking lot is so dark due to about every light fixture does not come on (probably just needs new bulbs), the staff is just down right rude, and they never seem to have any extra towles, soap, shampoo or coffee. The building now seems dirty and just plain awful. The restaurant staff doesnt seem to know about their own food. I had questions about the menu items and no one there could seem to answer my questions, not even the older asian lady (owner, i think) that was sitting in a private room all to herself watching television. The bar manager (who was bartending that day) didn't even know how to make the Mixed drink that I asked for. This used to be one of the better 2 star hotels in the area that had the best rates and the staff used to really seem to care about their guests and they seriously had the best hotel hot breakfast around. Now that they are a Fair Bridge Inn they have that snotty attitude and dont care about anything. The rates have now increased and they took away all of the hotel amenities that they used to give at a cheaper rate. The breakfast is now your boring cold / stale items. I have never stayed at a Fair Bridge hotel before but I sure can tell you that this will be my last. It just looks like I will have to find a new place to stay.

I'm horrified by the lack of confidentiality this establishment provides. This hotel releases guest information and records to the public. Also without permission they send unsolicited mail to your home addresses and they are too unorganized to locate where in their system to remove individuals from their mailing list. Not to mention the stay itself is disturbingly disappointing including the loud odor of marijuana in the hallways of their non-smoking floor. Despite it's name this hotel is NOT respected. Don't go here, please avoid at all costs. Don't let the name, cheap prices and bowling fool you. Maybe this hotel is suitable if you're homeless. Families beware! Mongers I feel sorry for you, no question BEWARE you'll pay a consequence!

Stay far away from this place!! I booked a 21/2 star hotel. Upon my arrival I find out that not only is my hotel not a chain hotel, but an independent hotel that used to be the Best Western Pawlwakee Inn. I checked in and went to my room, and was completely digusted with the room. It smelled like a cheap motel room. The carpet was stained, the bed was hard as a rock, and broke, there were holes in the walls, and water stains as well. The furniture was falling apart, and rust around the doorways. I turned on the faucet to find rust colored water and, there were bugs in the room. When I checked in the lady was very rude, ad when I wanted a King size bed I was charged 15 dollars to upgrade. They put me on the second floor down a long hallway, and they dont have an elevator. The restaurant they claim to have is nothing more than a Bar ... I booked a 21/2 star hotel. I stayed at the hotel for 5 days. The hotel was great , people was nice. The location is near the train station (to go to down town). Also it has two rental car next to the Hotel(Hertz and Entreprise). The room were Clean. The provide shuttle to the Airport and at the train station. The only thing I did not like is the carpet on the Hall is DIRTY. The driver were veryvery HELPFUL. He provided all the information I needed. JIM YOU ARE THE MAN.

The executive plaza hotel was great. Everyone was very nice and extremely helpful. I would definitly stay there again. The restaurant had great food and a beautiful / romantic atmosphere.

I enjoyed my stay! Room was clean, staff very helpful and amenities were very well accepted, expecially the complimentary "hot" spot wireless internet connection. Complimentary breakfast was a bit lacking in preparation (not ready on time, not set up properly)but OK nonetheless. Bed was comfortable and even though adjacent to a small airport I did not realize planes were actively taking off and landing.
