Red Lion Hotel Pocatello, Pocatello

Ths hotel had a great layout, easy to find, get off freeway and no freeway noise. However the Large Pool was only about 65 degrees temp, way too cold to enjoy playing in the water for adults or kids. We found the public hot tub very nice and enjoyable but small enough that it would not accommodate a very large party of people. We left early due to our disappointment in the indoor pool. On the positive side, management was friendly, helpful and gracious. Pools were clean and inviting until entry into sub zero temp water. Food at the Pantry was excellent. Cons, no fridge, no microwave, no tub in bathroom (shower only) Broken chair at desk, Doors opening and closing seemed to have that slamming effect, could raise you out of a dead sleep. Had the pool been a good medium temperature this would definitely be a repeat booking opportunity.

I was charged for making a reservation online and then also charged when I checked in so I had to go through the hassle of getting my money back. Staff is noisy, I could hear them outside my door at 7 am talking loudly.

My reservation was made the same day as several others for a family reunion. Two of our reservations got lost. Thankfully, an early arrival checked on everyone else's reservations and re-made them. For breakfast, on a Saturday morning, with a hotel full of soccor and football players, the cafe only had one waiter. The housekeeping barely kept up with demand for towels for the pool and the rooms. I've used Red Lions several times for business travel but this was by far the worst stay! The only plus was the front desk staff was courteous.

The room was spacious, nice decor BUT no refrigerator for my travel food, no coffee pot, no microwave. The coffee shop staff were nice, the coffee was good but I drank 3 cups waiting for a "quick and easy" piece of cake -- I final gave up on the cake. The staff is noisy -- storage areas are located in the sleeping areas. I work nights and sleep days so overall this place is not designed for me, but okay and affordable, if all a person wants is to drop-and-flop for a few hours. There's no incentive to camp out in the room for any period of time. Pretty place though, but didn't fit my needs.

Did not dislike anything. Chech-in was qhiuck and reserevation info was accurate. Rooms were quiet and very comfortable. Didn't include continental breakfast but price was fair.

We thought it was a great place to stay until it became a Red Lion and the rates went way up. It is in a great location relative to services and I-15.
