Would Have Been Better Off Sleeping In Our Car
This had to be the worst hotel experience I have had in my entire life-- EVER!! Let me begin by saying we would not have even stayed here had it not been WSU graduation weekend and had all hotels within a 100 mile radius not been booked.
When we arrived, there was a "regular weekly guest" sitting on the staircase smoking a cigarette and talking on her phone, and she would not move out of the way so we could get our bags upstairs. When she finally got off her cell phone and moved, we got into our room. It smelled like stale cigarette smoke and human waste (and that is giving it credit). The TV worked (barely) and possibly the hotel's only redeeming quality was it had wireless internet and a hot shower. Bedtime was when the real fun started. Since we had to be up at 4:30 a.m. to leave for Pullman, we went to bed at around 9 p.m. From that point forward, we did not get even an hour of sleep. First, some more "regulars" were outside talking and laughing outside our room--loudly--most of the night. I'm fairly confident some were also engaged in "deals" of some kind (if you catch my drift). Cars periodically pulled in the parking lot, with motors running, and then pulled out a few minutes later. If that wasn't bad enough, about every 1/2 hour or so, a train rolls through town and it literally sounds like the tracks run through the hotel. At about midnight, the bar next door really gets going, as it lets out its drunk patrons to fight and scream in the street. Things did quiet down (with the exception of the trains) at about 3 a.m., just long enough for us to fall into an exhausted stupor before the alarm went off an hour later.
The bottom line: DO NOT STAY HERE!!! HAD WE KNOWN IT WAS THIS BAD, WE WOULD HAVE ELECTED TO SLEEP IN OUR CAR!
