dream getaway
By ,
well wat a fantastic place to stay, right on the main street of waikiki and the best views ever. I cannot say a bad word about this beautiful place, Very clean, friendly and convenient.. Everything was at our fingertips, Loved the shopping especially the ABC stores, all shopping was So cheap compared to australia. im counting down the days when i can go back again, Love the beautiful waikiki beach, the hawaiin luaus and the beautiful dancers, hawaiians are the loveliest people i have ever met. You should be very proud of your island. Mahalo for the best holiday ever. louise, young nsw, australia

I loved it. Our room was great, small fridge and coffee pot, tv was fine, pool was nice and right across the street from the beach. Excellent. I'll book here again!

Great hotel, just renovated, clean
By ,
The Ohana Waikiki Beachcomber was a great hotel. The hotel has recently finished its renovation. Everything was new or renovated. Lobby area was great. Elevators fast. Hallways clean. Rooms clean. In the room everything was new - mattress, furniture, decor, carpet, fresh paint , flat screen tv, granite vanity, just great. Air conditioning was super quiet. Didn’t even know when it came on. Room temperature was easily maintained. Was disappointed with the Jimmy Buffet Restaurant. It just opened up a month earlier. Was at the restaurant both inside, outside, and at pool side. I found poor quality wait staff. I found a few times I had to track down wait staff to help me. One time, I even walked out after several minutes of having received no service, and that was after I had a few wait staff walk right passed me. At pool side, I received this very small plastic drink that cost $9. I have been to Key West and Myrtle Beach and found those restaurants great. Go to the Cheesecake Factory across the street if you want great food, great selection, and great staff. You will need to go early, the lines are long - that it how great it is. I also attended at the hotel Polynesian Magic Show. It was okay. Food was adequate. Show was adequate. It is a magic show with a little hawaiian dancing through in between the acts. In fact, don’t bother going. If you want a better show, go passed the International Market Place to the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani Hotel. It is called “Creations.” It is a great luau, with great buffet food, and a great hawaiian show. You will enjoy it better. And if you need any side trips around town, go to Expedia in the hotel lobby. They have a desk with a very efficient staff. Prices are great too. Also, the hotel bell service was great in getting you a quick taxi, or for getting information. I found the jewelry store prices great. You got the same price that you get at the International Market Place, but you don’t have to haggle for the price (but haggling for the price is fun too). So buy from both places. The hotel gift shop/pantry had reasonable prices if you need drinks/milk/sandwich. Everything is priced higher than on mainland, but the hotel pantry is just as cheap as the grocery store a few blocks away. Beach - you just go across the street to the Cheesecake Factory, and right beside that is the beach access walk. In a very quick walk (length of an average hotel), you are standing on Waikiki Beach. Bottom line- GREAT HOTEL. I even walked by the other hotels I was considering for the same price - Miramar, Ohana West, Ohana East. I KNOW I made the correct decision in selecting the Ohana Waikiki Beachcomber for its cleanliness, price, location, great staff, and just renovated. I would go back tomorrow.

Ok- for the price...
By ,
We came over for a couple of days, during our vacation in Maui. We liked the fact that the hotel was so centrally located in Waikiki....Our room was ok--but, never get stuck on the 2nd floor. We had a lovely view of the roof. Also, I had asked for an early check-in and we were not accomodated. I think once construction is done it will be a lot better. The elevators were super slow...and the pool area is an eyesore.

My Favorite Downtown
By ,
I love this place. I have stayed here four times now and will always stay here when visiting if I can. The location is dynamite for the money. The staff is wonderfully accommodating. The nearby mall is a fun place to shop. The dining within close walking distance is superb. I love it that I can walk to the beach across the street. If I am feeling lazy the pool area is unique and fun. This is a wonderful downtown place to stay! This is the best value in town. It might be the best value in the islands. I am still looking.

Just got home
By ,
I've been to Waikiki many times and decided to take my daughter and granddaughter for a few days of sun and relaxation. I booked the 'partial ocean view' which was just that. You could see just a bit of the ocean when you looked through the buildings in front of the hotel but I didn't expect much in that respect. The hotel is located next to the International Market which is a fun place to go with a grand kid to shop for souvineers. It was an easy walk to the beach from the hotel and to other places. Our first night there was a little strange as when I got into my bed - which did have fresh sheets by the way - it also had someone elses sand between the sheets! They did completely change out everything for us and no futher problems after that. We were disappointed that the cafe has been closed and replaced with coffee and pastries that weren't very good. The other down side was that the swimming pool was closed for maintenance every day we were there from 9am until noon! The internet kiosk in the lobby is not owned nor staffed by the hotel so while I was using it at 20 cents a minute, it froze and continued to run my time and money out. There was no phone to call for assistance in the room so fortunately I had a cell phone with me to call the help line. My suggestion is to use at your own risk. I did get my money reinstated by the kiosk owner so I was able to use the full amount. Overall, it was a nice place to stay but before you book, call and make certain that all amenities are up and running, i.e. pool etc.

A Georgous vacation
By ,
I really liked the beachcomber it was very comforting. It is off of a main drag, right down the street i can walk right into louis vuitton kate spade and other really awesome stores. Also there are some very nice restaurants that are nearby, reasonably priced for hawaii and with an ocean view. The beachcomber is no comparison to the outrigger which was the first thing that caught my eye when i had entered the beach from across the street. The hotel is only walking distance from the beach with a decent price difference (i'd rather walk across the beach than pay an extra $62 or so every night). It is also right next door to the international market which i highly recommend. You can baragain to get things you like. Its good for when u want to bring back souvineirs for your friends and family. And they make amazing pina coladas and other food. Remember no matter where u go in hawaii prices are high so bring plenty of spending money if you want to do activities like snorkeling or any tours of any sort. Diamond head is also recommended with its beautiful views once u get to the top. thank you and enjoy!

Best place ever!
By ,
I loved this hotel. Your right across the street from the beach . Your right above the international market place. Basically your in the heart of town. Restuarants and attractions are everywhere and very convienent to get to. I'm going back to this same hotel again when I go back in a couple of months. You won't be sorry!

A great experience
By ,
The food was wonderful, the dinner shows were amazing, and the hotel was right in the middle of everything! Although, I disliked the rather small room, the small pool, and the stiff beds. The service was good, and it was overall a great experience.
