Awesome sunsets
By dennis, 12/02/08
we stayed during the thanksgiving week... loved the room that we stayed in and it has all the conveniences like home (washer, dryer, dishwasher, and utensils ) nicely decorated and has a sofa bed in the living room. It is an ocean front one bedroom condo (513) where we relaxed to the sounds of the waves. Enjoyed walking on the beach and swimming in the pool.

Minor disappointment
By Kelcita, 08/18/08
We loved the location and that was the best quality for our choice in accomodations. The room we rented was a one bedroom ocean view (room 208). GREAT view from the bedroom and living room. My only complaint was how rundown it looked inside the room. Housekeeping service was wonderful, but there were obvious plumbing issues in the ceiling of the bathroom. It wasn't as clean as I keep my home and I expect that when I stay elsewhere. Parking was wonderful. VERY short walk to the beach. Most likely will stay elsewhere upon our return, but I would recommend this place anyway.

Will never return Mold in the AC!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/15/08
Thought this place was going to be nice. Checked in and got dreadfully ill from the spider mold in the AC Unit. We rented 312 for 11 days and spent 6.5 of those days in bed sick from what we found out later was mold and mildew in the AC Filter. Staff was unaccomodating and the housemen said that they have been trying to get management to fix the AC problems for years. If you stay here make sure the first thing on your list is to check the AC Filter, I would insist that you do to avoid the horrible vacation experience we had. We had to go to the doctor 2 times costing us an additional $700 on top of lost tour money. The worst place I've ever stayed at bar none and I would not recommend my worst enemy stay at this place.

Stayed for our honeymoon
By mrsNewlyWed, 04/12/08
Fantastic condo setup for an extended visit! We stayed a week and the condo had everything we needed. We went in March during the end of whale watching season - and we were able to see whales from our balcony! The condo was very clean, the washer/dryer had detergent for us, the bed was very comfy. We even had a walk in closet to use. It is about at 10 min drive to Lahaina - which is great in nice weather, a lot to see along the way. The staff was nice and we were able to book activities downstairs. Parking was never a problem, there was a deck and a lot to use. PLUS it had a heated pool - which was a great surprise for us! There were lots of couples and families there when we visited. They have a cabana you can use for birthday parties, etc.

I'll never return
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/25/08
The free parking provided is very limited, you must cut your evening short if you wish to have a parking space for the evening, and no street parking or any other options available. The airconditioning did not cool below 73, carpet were very dirty and cabinets peeling.

Great place!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/14/07
Our stay at the Royal Kahana was great! Very nice, big room with a great ocean view. The room was fully stocked with dishes as well as a washer and dryer. It's a bit more secluded than many places in Lahaina, despite its size. We really appreciated that it wasn't too busy because we were looking more for that type of vacation. It's very convenient to McDonalds and Outback and only a short drive to Lahaina. I would highly recommend the Royal Kahana. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Would love to go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/02/07
I liked the fact that is was away from the hustle bustle, but yet, close enough to Lahaina. Loved the fact that were washers and dryers in the room. Made it very convenient. Next time I would travel with less luggage, knowing I could wash what we bring. The sunsets off the balcony and the whale watching from the balcony was fantastic!! Highly recommend this place.

Royal Kahana: It's What You Make It
By David, 12/07/06
My wife and I stayed here for a week and loved it. But, like staying at all hotels and resorts, your satisfaction depends on what you are looking for. If you want a nice room with a kitchen, beautiful views of both the West Maui Mountains and the ocean, and if you enjoy the going to sleep to the sound of the sea, then this place is perfect. If you want a hotel or resort with 3 fancy restaurants on site, don't come here. If you are specifically looking for a place with a big, wide beach, don't come here. When the tide is up, there is no beach. But all you have to do is move up or down the coast a few miles to find all the beach you want. We have stayed for a week at the Four Seasons at Wailea, and we spent a week at the Ritz Carlton at Kapalua. Both are wonderful and offer the art in the halls, the restaurants, etc. If that's what you want. We enjoyed our stay just as much at the Royal Kahana as much as we enjoyed the 4 Seasons and the Ritz. We don't go to Maui to rate hotels, we go to experience Maui. And have nothing bad to say about the Royal Kahana. You can experience Maui very well with the Royal Kahana as a base.

Paradise
By Steve aka X, 07/07/06
We stayed at the Royal Kahana for our honeymoon in October 2003 and it was the best experience. The rooms were incredible with a kitchen and a washer and dryer right in the room. We had a partial view of the ocean which was nothing short of amazing. The pool was really nice, free parking, you're on the beach, etc. The only slight negative was there was no restaurant or any food on the grounds. But that wasn't really a big deal. You are far enough from the airport that you feel like you are "away" but at the same time you are within a short driving distance from just about anything. We cannot wait to go back someday, it was a vacation of a lifetime!
