It was PERFECT!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/18/09
The staff was extremely helpful. The hotel was in an amazing location. We were close to EVERYTHING. Anywhere you would like to go is within walking distance, it was amazing for being a first timer in Hawaii too because everything was around us. Beautiful hotel! Me and my husband spent our honeymoon there and the staff left us champagne and chocolate in our room when we arrived, and before we left they gave us another box of chocolates and fruit. Super nice people and were always willing to help! The room was really clean and the housekeeping always brought you anything extra you may need. Another cool thing is the BBQ grill they have near the pool! It was a wonderful honeymoon... Thank you Aqua Bamboo :)

The Best Little Hotel on Oahu
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/28/09
My husband took me to Oahu for our anniversery. I lived on Oahu a while ago and was unsure about the Aqua Hotel. We booked the hotel based on others comments. I am so glad that we did. This is the best little hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Lenor's staff was awesome. She left us a little gift basket after our first day. Fe and Tony who work up front went above and beyond their call of duty. I am thrilled we stayed here and would stay here over and over again. You must try this hotel out. Just a side note... I know the parking is expensive but park on the Ali Wai on the weekends it is free. Aloha to the staff there at Aqua Bamboo- now my husband knows why I love Hawaii so much.

My favorite hotel in Waikiki
By RootHub, 3/30/09
I stay at this fantastic hotel on Kuhio every time I need to stay in Waikiki. I love the vibe as it is an older hotel that had a stylish renovation done a couple years ago. The staff is always full of aloha and the more we stay there the more we become friends. I live in LA and on Big Island and we stayed at the Bamboo on Halloween. Not only did one of the associates of the hotel take pics of us but printed them and saved them for us till we came back a month later!! Wow! There is a great small pool and hot tub, but my favorite thing is the small sauna for two. They have a small spa for massage, the girls loved it!. The bamboo is also a favorite of locals. I have stayed in the basic rooms and suites and they are all great. I do recommend making sure you are on the third floor or higher. If you are looking for a hotel in Waikiki that is calmer than one of the giant resort hotels, but is super nice and is full of aloha, the Aqua Bamboo is the perfect spot for you.

Wonderful 17 days
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/1/09
We liked the location, the price, the congenial staff, the clean, comfortable room with lanais, and poolside Continental breakfast. There were modern appliances in a full kitchen, a flat screen television and internet connection in the room. The hotel is within easy walking distance to the beach, restaurants and shopping. We would recommend this hotel.

What a great place, read on:
By Niko, 12/22/08
This is a great hotel, it isnt one of those huge hotels that you get lost in, it has 12 floors and it is a block away from the Waikiki Beach. The smaller size makes it perfect in the fact that everytime you come back to the hotel they know you and greet you. The rooms are actually really cool. I had the "moderate" room, which is the nice way of saying cheap room, but I was really surprised, nice flat screen, it has a nice kitchenette equipped with everything you need. (stove, microwave, plates, forks, knives, spoons, coffee maker, pots, pans, etc) it is very new with nice modern expresso colored wood. It isn't a normal looking room at all, and it has a nice big balcony. Downstairs in the lobby is really nice looking, they have a breakfast every morning, but it could have more stuff, it has just small muffins, and coffee. I wanted some bagels or cereal. The pool is really nice, and the rates for massage are really good, I payed $65 for a full body massage and foot bath (they just placed my feet in a bowl and dried them off, took about 12 seconds, but nice thought) Wifi worked good in the lobby, but couldnt get my laptop to work in the room, and they didnt offer help. Joy is a nice fresh personality who seems to enjoy taking care of the guests, she went out of her way to make sure people were comfortable. I watched her throw out 4 locals who snuck into the pool and still took care of his bloody leg. ( i wold have just kicked them out), she was really nice. Also (i believe his name is) Anthony took really good care of us, good with suggestions on what to do, and was nice to talk to, very friendly. Actually there was only one shift (2 people) who were not friendly, on my last day I was there, I broke my ankle and tore my ligaments and had to go to the hospital, I hopped into the hotel and asked if they had a ice pak or bag of ice. Knowing I was hurt she said "no, but theres ice on the 8th floor, and you have to find a bag somewhere" I thought that was a little rude, I know joy would have probably carried me up there and helped me out. I also asked for something to do and they didnt offer any suggestions, just said there was a book in the room, and magazines all over the streets, but I like finding out from the locals what to do, not ads that people pay to be in. I didnt get the bad shifts name, but they worked on the evening of Dec. 17th..... I had a really good time at this hotel, it is defvinately worth the money and was taken care of, and they made it a good time. they have a nice pool with a waterfall, although I did notice surfboards along the side of the pool, I dont know if they were for us to use, I wasnt told (i could have saved money renting one), but either way..... this is one hotel I will definately use time and time again. Oh yeah, about the location..... unless you want to be at one of those beachfront hotels, this is the perfect location, it is RIGHT in the middle of the fun of Waikiki beach, all the shopping is outside the doors, all the designer shops are right there (gucci, louie vatton, prada, all those stores), the beach is a block away, theres no better location for a hotel then this one (again, unless you can afford one of the beachfront hotels).

Great Value
By Kurt, 10/14/08
We had a corner room on the eleventh floor. The room was decent, a bit nicer than what I expected. The shower head is a bit low for tall people. We were surprised with a gift - chocolate covered macadamia nuts for the special occasion we were celebrating. We opened the box and ate most of them. The next day a few (harmless) ants found them and were over them. Overall, hotel was okay... but still good for the value. We parked at the neighboring hotel for less.

its decent.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/28/08
bamboo was ok... i mean... first day when we got in there. the room wasn't ready for us... till 3pm.. when we went back we( me and my sister) got an upgrade.. which we where really happy about... when we went up to the room.. it was nice and clean we got a king's bed when i have specified 2 beds.. it wasn't a big deal and i wasn't about to complaint right after getting an upgrade.. the hotel is very decent for the price you pay.. the only bad thing that i didn't quite like is going to the gym that's across the street and not in your own hotel( i thought it says in their web that that was included)another was going to bed at 2am..and streets are still noisy and having to wake up by the noice of the buses and cars again at 5am... the location was super great we were pretty much 2-3 blocks away from the beach and if you where to go diamond head about 10 min bus.. bus stop's right infront of the hotel...(you must visit diamond head makes your stay all worth it)... the continental breakfast that they serve.. hm.. it wasn't that great when they say fresh fruits they're talking about oranges and banana..(i thought like pinapple or papaya or even apple).. when they mean juices they mean one type which is guava.. (what happends to all other types apple orange typical juices?). thhen when it comes to pastry.. well not pastries.. muffins..they should say.. not even bran muffins.. which was fine.. we decided to stay in this hotel cause it include with a kitchen and all the reviews where pretty good.. (believe me.. the hotel's not bad, rooms are decent can't really complain).me and my sister were thinking of cooking ourself half of the time because we thought it would be expensive to eat out.. but.. it works both way.. its the same eating out or eating in.. the price was really high.... we love honolulu waikiki and i'll for sure go back again but this time i'll bring some dry goods with me... (if anyone's going, trust me you might wanna bring dry foods over you'll be happy once you see the prices on their local shop)

What a dump!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/20/08
My wife and I recently stayed at the aqua bamboo for 2 nights on a business trip. It was terrible. We arrived late and were gone most of the following day--which was a good thing. When we checked in I told the counter attendant "just give us a clean, comfortable, quiet room"...the other employee behind the counter just smirked and said "they're all the same". The place is a health hazard in my opinion--the air in our room was so musty I could hardly breathe. There was no bathroom fan to vent moisture--which I guess would explain the musty/mildewy smell. I needed to leave open the door to the balcony to make the air quality more bearable. And for them to say it was renovated in 2005 is frankly a joke. The place is an old, worn out dump. The "parking garage" was scary--wet and hardly any room to turn or park. And as many others who have already written reviews have pointed out--the rooms look nothing like the pictures posted on the web. I'm glad we didn't bring our daughter to this DUMP! Do yourself a favor--spend a few dollars more--and breathe easy.

Great!
By jen, 2/21/08
I stayed at the Aqua Bamboo and Spa in December and have nothing but positive things to say! The hotel is located just a couple of blocks from Waikiki beach the service was EXCELLENT... they definitely have the ALOHA spirit! The rooms were clean and the price I payed to stay was unbeatable! As a travel agent, I have my clients best interest in mind when I do a walk through of a hotel. I would definitley recommend the Aqua Bamboo and Spa to my clients!!!
