I took my mother and son to this paradise!I livedin hawaii for 8 yearsand my son was born there so I know the island very well! this is a great place to stay! make sure that you get an ocean front room,the view is breathtaking!The food was superb the hotel staff were all filled with the "aloha" spirit!this hotel is very clean and did not smell at all bad!The price is great at 115.00a night you can't beat that! I will be returning and staying at this great place! mahalo

A quiet corner of paradise

This hotel is in a quiet town of some 40,000 people on the windward side of the Big Island of Hawaii. The area is filled with tropical beauty,including large banyan trees. The view from the hotel on the ocean side is quite spectacular, especially early in the morning. The weather is excellent during the daylight hours, with usually a light rain in the evening that only lasts a short time. The hotel is well maintained and service is very good. The only problem we ever had was getting a specific type of room (non-smoking,connecting,etc). If you are in the area on a sight-seeing excursion,I would recommend considering the hotel for your stay.

Decent hotel, best location in Hilo

I booked a deluxe room here through their website. For $99 a night, this was a good value for a full service hotel. The lobby and grounds are very nice. Staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and good sized, but kind of outdated. Everything functioned well and the beds were comfortable. Overall we were happy staying here. Hilo was smaller than we expected and finding good eats was a little difficult sometimes. But this was the best location if you are staying there. Great view, free parking, quick drive to waterfalls, shopping and the volcano. The only small complaint we had was that the lobby smelled strongly of the nightly fish buffet every evening. It obviously couldn't be helped, but as vegetarians it was a little hard to take sometimes. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here and would go back if we returned to Hilo.

It was alright.

We didn't mind the hotel, it was on the water although there isn't a beach and there was a swimming pool but no hot tub. The thing that was the worst was that there was no parking. Everything filled up and parking was incredibly hard to find.

The people are very friendly and the wait staff at the restuaruant is also very friendly!!! I would recomend this hotel to anyone!!
