Condo units are individually owned...
By Laurie Eyster, 12/22/09
Some people rated it high (4 or 5 stars) and others terrible (1 star) because different units are in different conditions. You'd do well to make sure you know what condition available units are in. When you make a reservation, ask if there is more than one unit available, get the unit numbers, and Google it. For example, Pat Winston's Waikiki Condos has ten units, all of which are clean and updated. Before confirming your reservation, make sure you have the right to inspect the condo before checking in, and if it is in bad shape, can switch to some other unit.

Walking distance to everything!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/18/08
The room was the perfect size. All the guests and front desk people were very nice! Clean pool area with tiki torches and a BBQ that anyone can use. Across from starbucks!! International market place is also almost across the street and many restaurants in the area. I stayed for 16 days and I am coming back for 3 weeks. Good price.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/14/08
We stayed at the Hawaiian king condo for 2 weeks. Our room was recently renovated and was super clean and cozy. We really enjoyed the pool area,we had family BBQ and the kids got to swim in the pool. We picked this condo because the location it is central Waikiki, walking distance to every thing. We will defently be back to stay.

Total horriffic dump
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/9/08
This place is a dump, the neighborhood is shady, most units have those old-style tropical island windows which work like "blinds", you can hear the neighbors, the bar downstairs is disgusting. A filthy place. And not that cheap, either! The hotel around the corner costs only a little more and is cleaner and has room service. Consider staying on the North Shore instead.

Not what they say they are
By JJ, 11/30/07
First they tell you that all their rooms have wireless internet. Well, in the 1 month that we stayed the only spot where you can access wirelessly is by the pool. Which is rather challenging since you have to compete for that space with the other guests. Secondly, their ACs are not big or strong enough to cool our room. Thirdly and most importantly, eventhough we spent a considerable amount of money, time, and effort to clean our room before we check-out they refuse to give back the security deposit. When you request to speak with the manager through phone, the guy on the frontdesk will just turn Mr. Hyde and give you a number that doesnt receive voice messages and just gives you a fax tone...

A Really Excellent Value
By Hula-Penula, 8/11/07
ALOHA! We spent a month here and it was an overal excellent experience... until the day before we left when we had a break-in via the balcony and all of my computer equipment was stolen. Otherwise all staff were friendly and helpful, the apartment was clean and very well-equipped (much better than any hotel room, with plenty of extras). Taking advantage of the parking garage around the corner was an excellent deal (since parking in Waikiki is notoriously horrendous). And you can't beat the location other than being directly on the beach. It is a block from the International Marketplace with FREE nightly entertainment, and there is a myriad of street entertainment going on along the avenues every evening, as well. An especially good value for meals is Perry's Smorgy, just a 2-block stroll from the Hawaiian King. Everything is included buffet-style at a price that would be hard to beat, even on the mainland. If they keep their rates reasonable, I would recommend this place to anyone. MAHALO!!

Clean, comfortable and convenient
By A, 1/20/06
There were 4 of us and we had a super comfortable and clean condo. It was decorated nicely with lots of aloha and almost everything seemed new. We could walk just about everywhere. We rented a car from the Enterprise place across the street for a couple of days so we could spend time on the North and Windward shores. Otherwise we just took a quick walk to the beach or shops -- lots of good restaurants close by, too. We've read some bad reviews of this place and we think there are some units in the building that need serious renovation -- but a lot of the units have already been updated and are really nice. So, we recommend you look carefully at the photos and descriptions.

Great - The Real Hawaiian Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/6/05
The condo we stayed in was great. Comfortable, clean, decorated great! The pool area is always spotless and so inviting after a day at the beach. It has wonderful palms and even a Tiki and torches that are lit at night. A very short walk to the International Market Place and the Beach makes the location perfect. We didn't even have to rent a car! It has a little store right at the bottom of the stairs that has almost everything you need in a hurry. There's a bigger market just a couple blocks up the street. I loved the bar-b-que, the trades blowing through our room, and the general ambiance of old Hawaii. We were on the 5th floor which had a view and was great. I'd go back and stay in a heartbeat and I'd recommend it to anyone who really enjoys Hawaii and doesn't need to sit all day in a stuffy hotel!

Great Time
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/17/05
This condo facility really captures the feelings of Hawaii in the 60's. It is only five stories tall, with good security. The central pool area was definately a meeting place after a day at the beach, and one could hear informal cook outs being planned around the pool. The pool area also has wireless Internet, and a cool tiki that was lit up at night. Being only 1.5 blocks from the beach, the location is great.
