Horrible
By Toni, 10/08/09
They have no camera's in the parking garage attached & they do not care if something happens to you or your car!! We parked in the Westin's Parkning Garage and someone was able to get in - get to the seventh level - do over $2,000 damage to my car and leave without anyone seeing it. Not even the 15 Valets they had working...hmmmmm. Oh - and don't ask to look on the camera's because they don't have any that work! No wonder this stuff happens. Police think it may have been an inside job, but The Westin doesn't even care to return my phone calls. Be careful - and hope no one gets hurt in that garage because there are no camera's and no one really cares at the hotel. I would never in all my life stay at this hotel again. I can't afford it. My vacation cost me $2,000 more than I planned!

Only thing nice is the view
By Will, 09/20/09
The view is great. That is about the only thing nice I can say about this hotel. Our stay started by being told that valet parking is $26 per night, per car! My wife brought our kids from north Atlanta and I was working in south Atlanta, so we added an additional $52 per night to our stay with valey! The response from the staff when I asked if there was something that could be done: an indifferent 'no' and 'it was on the website'. In the 2 day stay, we didn't run accross one friendly staff member that seemed like they cared if you were there or not. No refrigerator in the room and $14.99, per day, for wi-fi access!! $4.95 for a bottled water! The pool looks nice, indoor, but it is freezing? They installed the very slippery tiles all around the pool so every time our kids got out, they would fall and hurt themselves. We have lived in Atlanta for 12 years and always wanted to stay there. We were very dissappointed.

It was worth it
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/04/09
We celebrated my husband birthday January of 2008.We stayed at your Hotel and dined at the Sun Dial restaurant. We had the best time. The food was great. And the view from the restaurant was unbelievable. Our room was very clean and very soothing. Thanks you very much! A.F. of Lithonia

Don't Stay Here!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/13/09
For the outrageous price I paid ($195 nightly), there was nothing good about this place but the view from the 53rd floor. No refrigerator, no microwave. Couldn't even use my own dvd player because the hotel blocks that ability on the tv! They didn't even provide a shower cap for my hair!! The furniture is old too.... I'm sending a formal letter to the hotel detailing my complaints. I strongly recommend another place to stay.

Expected More
By Josh, 07/08/09
Lets start with the likes: We liked the View of our hotel and the beds. Everyone mentioned the bathrooms were really small but I thought they were fine. I mean face it, your in a cylinder shaped building. Things cant be that big. I will say the rooms were smaller then I expected. We just booked 12 rooms for a Boys Volleyball event. And if we had the players rooming together they never would of fit two to a bed. They were double size beds at best. And the beds were very short. I guess 6'7 and 6'5 tall kids cant sleep in these rooms. Our room had a smell. We find out that the AC is leaking. And We had them come up and check and they said it was a cooler leak from the people before. We said OK. And then 5 days later ITS STILL SOAKED!! Nice cooler leak? They did say we could move rooms but we just got in from a 4 am flight. I will say the staff was very nice and when we requested things we got them in a timely manner. Everything for room service is about 15 bucks too much.. Cheeseburger for $17.00 Soda $4.00. Parking was $25.00 a night.. And no free internet. I went down printed 18 pages for the tournament schedule and was on for 9 mins. the bill was $25.00 bucks. OUCH! LOCATION OF THIS HOTEL IS EXCELLENT!!!!! The tornado happened what a Year ago? And I still see all sorts of rooms with back tarps and wood as the wall? What the heck? How can they even be allowed to rent these rooms out? We will be back in atlanta next year for another tournament "girls side" I would say based on location I would get this hotel again. Only because its about 2 -3 blocks closer then the hyatt. HOWEVER!! We got the rooms for $111.00 a night plus tax.. So if I came into town and paid the OVERLY priced cost for an old run down hotel. I WOULD OF BEEN PISSED and requested a refund and left. 3 stars at best!!! Its a shame. Ive been to atlanta five times and was so excited to stay at this hotel for the first time.

Needs Renovation
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/12/09
I hate to say it, but the only good thing about this hotel is the view. The furniture is stained, floor is worn, strange smells abound. This hotel is in tremendous need of renovation.

got to do something about the smell
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/08/09
Check in on Saturday first room on the 20th floor the room smelled like a musty basement, staff immediately changed my room still on the 2oth floor .I turned on the air conditioning and a strong smell on mold and mildew ,Maintenance changed the filter that was black when removed but smell did not go away. So I changed rooms again this time up to the 21st floor this room had a false wall poorly attached to the window with ply wood. Apparently the window had been blown out during a storm .but the room had all new furniture. Since the weather was bad I changed rooms again this time to the 58th floor. Finally a good room. The staff was very pleasant and helpful and went out of their way to make all the room changes. The hotel itself is overpriced but it is clean and the beds are very comfy .Restaurants and bars close early due to low occupancy . Food is pricy ,can eat out for a lot less several good restaurants across the street. Internet is very pricy.

Never again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/27/08
Thought we would have a romantic weekend get away with my husband. Started off great BUT worse night of my life. Parties going on our floor, had to call and complain 3 times. Nothing was done. Did not get a wink of sleep. Staff seemed as if I was the problem trying to get a good night sleep. We even checked out early to go home! Next time I want a weekend away with my husband, I'll stay some where else.

Rude staff, dirty hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/14/08
I stayed here for the mart and I never will again. The rate for this event was outrageous for what we got. Smelly rooms and rude staff. I have expressed my displeasure to the AmericasMart management and am encouraging them to not use this hotel for their events in the future,

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/05/08
My wife and a friend stayed with you from July 2nd to the 4th. It was a horrible experience from the minute they drove up to the parking garage. They stopped to ask the guy where the parking was for hotel guests. He said to just park in a very rude tone. Anyway, they ended up parking in an area where they had to pay each time they left and came back. I thought your hotel had a flat all day rate for guests staying there? The garage was poorly lit and very nasty for what is described as a 4-star hotel. The front desk had no information or brochures on what was around the hotel. They had to go to another hotel to get those. The front desk also gave them no information about the hotel (where to find the pool, different restaurants, etc). The room itself was clean but extremely small. Also, my wife requested a refrigerator since she is breastfeeding and needed to keep milk cold overnight. She called several times to the front desk and explained the situation but was repeatedly denied. Your website states that your hotel goes the extra mile to make sure all guests are satisfied. You need to take that statement off your website if you treat all guests this way! I am leaving very bad feedback to your hotel website and the website on which I booked the room. I am never again booking with westin hotels and any other brand related to westin. For what we paid to stay there we could have gotten much better treatment at a holiday inn (and much cheaper). We'll book with them next time. Adam
