By Rhuby, 2/2/13
All in all It's a great hotel but if any of you are looking to save some $$ then book it at SweetHotelDeals. N e t They usually have some pretty good deals on there.

Another Perspective
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/6/11
I've stayed at this Westin several times before and didn't hesitate to book again for this trip. I wondered how the hotel had recovered from the tornado a few years ago, and when I looked through reviews I was a little concerned. My post-trip thoughts? My experience this time was every bit as wonderful as my past visits. Exceptional service from a responsive staff , and the Heavenly Bed made my stay refreshing and pleasant. I was in town for a convention, so sleep was limited :), but every night I slept great! I did notice a few things--the room was clean and smelled fresh, but the carpet was showing wear. The beds were great, but there were little details like strings hanging from the comforters (on both beds!), or pillows that were getting lumpy. The bathroom sink worked fine, but one of the handles was 90 degrees twisted from where it should sit. These are things that you shrug and deal with in your own home or a budget establishment, but I expect an upscale hotel to fix them before a guest notices. Final vote--the customer service was first class, but the decor and standards were not what I expect of this facility or the Westin chain. I look forward to staying here again, but if I don't see rehab from the current state of the furnishings then this hotel, although pleasant, will not be worth the upscale prices it charges and I will stay somewhere else.

PAY FOR PARKING! AT THESE PRICES?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/6/11
Exhaust fan not working; Parking was $22.00 for less than 24 hours. Better have a very small car and be able to dodge all the poles.

Terrible service, nasty room, etc.....
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/23/11
This Hotel as a great view and that it. You can go to the top level where the restaurant is an enjoy the view for free!! My husband make a reservation on line for our weeding anniversary. We have stay at Westin Hotel before and we love them. But this one is terrible. The rooms are old and the carpet is nasty and the smell in the room..let me not start on that. So do not think the room is going to look like the pictures on line. The furniture is old, and stain. we will never stay in that one again. The location is terrible and a lot of people that are not staying in the hotel walks in the lobby, loud and poor taste.

What a huge disappointment !
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/13/11
Liked the location and the view - Disliked the state of the room, complete lack of response to our request to put appropriate sheets on the bed - waited over 1.5 hours to get fixed - we discovered that the sheet used to cover the mattress didn't go all the way to the bottom of the end of the mattress (there was about 1 foot of exposed mattress). We called at 11:30pm, and made repeated calls every 30 minutes... we kept being told, yes, someone is right on the way - after 1.5 hours they finally showed up - 1am! we were exhausted and just wanted to sleep.- Completely unacceptable behavior for this type of hotel chain. No one ever apologized, .... the shower head barely put out any water, water pressure very low and touted dual shower head wasn't installed in this room - but the sign in the shower saying, "If you want more pressure use both shower heads".... bathroom was not wiped clean. Room view 60th floor was fantastic, we were facing Centennial park. There were many sirens in the evening which we clearly heard. In the early morning, the maids seem to open and let slam shut the doors on the floor over 25 times, in and out, which didn't allow any morning sleep (after our late night we desperately desired).

Surprised and Scared
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/6/10
I was planning a trip to ATL and just thought I'd do some researching on where I would like to stay, but some the reviews has made me to rethink my decision. Think I will just stop by and say hi I was there.

Would rather sleep on street
By Lady Heather, 9/17/10
The total experience was horrible. Check in was a disaster(firsth they said they lost reservation, they said 100% booked so couldn't help us, then magically found reservation) Charged my friend who made reservation for both rooms. Even after swipping my card. Had to go back to lobby later to settle that (and took days before they took charges off her card) Room was smelly (like mildew). elevators sucked. Then when I get home and check credit card statement, they charged 3 nights stay onto my bill, 3 days after I left the city. Still waiting to remedy that. Couldn'r get azn actual person on the phone. I had to leave a message. Just awful, the whole time.

Great View and Location--worst housekeeping ever!
By Jimmie, 8/11/10
The view and location are fantastic, but it goes down from there. First their housekeepers can't count--would pick up 5 towels and leave 3. We would notice the tidbits on the floor would not be vacuumed up--would have to call for that. The complimentary coffee in the room was rarely available--they managed to screw this up every which way, leave no coffee, or leave only decaf, or leave no creamer, or leave no stir sticks--you have to give them creativity points for managing to come up with every which way to screw this up!!! and this happened daily. Another bone to pick is not having fitted sheets. A hotel of this quality should have fitted sheets. Short of fitted sheets, they should be tucked in, but no! Every night, we got to play housekeeper and tuck in our own sheets or end up with a bed sheet mess by morning--after our 12 day stay--the Westin managed to make our next stay at a Microtel seem like heaven. Oh... remember the earlier comment about how housekeeping couldn't count...the coup de grace was being charged for using the mini fridge when we didn't. It was only $3, but would Westin knock off the charge?--no way. They expect you to pay for their lack of service! I would never recommend this hotel to anyone I like. If only we could get America's enemies to stay here, they would come out with their hands up in surrender.

Horrible
By Toni, 10/8/09
They have no camera's in the parking garage attached & they do not care if something happens to you or your car!! We parked in the Westin's Parkning Garage and someone was able to get in - get to the seventh level - do over $2,000 damage to my car and leave without anyone seeing it. Not even the 15 Valets they had working...hmmmmm. Oh - and don't ask to look on the camera's because they don't have any that work! No wonder this stuff happens. Police think it may have been an inside job, but The Westin doesn't even care to return my phone calls. Be careful - and hope no one gets hurt in that garage because there are no camera's and no one really cares at the hotel. I would never in all my life stay at this hotel again. I can't afford it. My vacation cost me $2,000 more than I planned!

Only thing nice is the view
By Will Ward, 9/20/09
The view is great. That is about the only thing nice I can say about this hotel. Our stay started by being told that valet parking is $26 per night, per car! My wife brought our kids from north Atlanta and I was working in south Atlanta, so we added an additional $52 per night to our stay with valey! The response from the staff when I asked if there was something that could be done: an indifferent 'no' and 'it was on the website'. In the 2 day stay, we didn't run accross one friendly staff member that seemed like they cared if you were there or not. No refrigerator in the room and $14.99, per day, for wi-fi access!! $4.95 for a bottled water! The pool looks nice, indoor, but it is freezing? They installed the very slippery tiles all around the pool so every time our kids got out, they would fall and hurt themselves. We have lived in Atlanta for 12 years and always wanted to stay there. We were very dissappointed.
