a Health risk
By Elle, 3/22/12
I checked in with no problems after purchasing this hotel accommodations from priceline. When I got to the room, I noticed a half full 2 liter sprite bottle on the side of the bed, the arm chairs had deep rooted stains. It made me question the cleanliness of the bedspread. 3hrs later I went to wash my hands when I noticed a roach in my sink.. It was late so I waited till the morning, I woke up, checked emails and noticed a roach crawling on my leg then I went to take a shower and saw on crawling on the wall. I identified to the service desk lady and she was like, "we have some good spray but we will need you to be out of your room from at least 3hrs" I came back and the room was foul smelling and they tried to cover it up with fabreeze. I went to check out but was told I was not getting refunded because of the special rate that I was given: $70 a night is not a special rate for a roach infested hotel! I called priceline and priceline said they need to speak with the manager rosalie. Angel, at the service desk refused to call the manager. So I called the cops to resolve the issue and the cops stated that they can't interfere the way a business chooses to operate. Eventually out of the 4 nights of prepaid hotel, the manager reimbursed me 2 nights. even though I checked out after day 1. I can't believe priceline endorses this hotel!

Worst hotel and manager has major attitude problem
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/28/11
I stayed here temporarily while changing jobs and looking for a new place. I have stayed in many hotels associated with work travel and this is the worst managed hotel I have ever been to. I went there days before check-in, made reservations with a credit card, and was told I could be in the room I looked at, but when I checked in was told by the general manager Rosalie they were booked, the room was taken and I was lucky to get anything at all let alone a non-smoking King bed room. I asked if I could change rooms when one was available and she said "Well, I'd prefer you change on Wednesday (one week from check-in date). I asked why and she said because that is when I get housekeeping. My room did not have enough electrical outlets to run all the lamps and TV w/cable box at the same time, the shower rod and closet shelf were coming out of the wall, the alarm clock didn't work, the WiFi did not reach to my upstairs room, and the desk chair stunk. Every time I went to get extra supplies (esp. towels and coffee for the room) they were out or towels were in the laundry. Other than the "management" the girls at the front desk were courteous... but totally unempowered to do anything but say you have to talk to someone else. When I went to confirm on Monday night that I would be checking out Wednesday morning I found out they had booked me for an extra week, and nobody that night or the next morning was even capable of reversing the charge, I had to talk the operations manager or GM (Rosalie). I am still trying to work this one out. The management needs to be sent to customer service school and employee management training as they are not even capable of keeping the efforts of even a few staff members consistent, they all just kind of do their own thing. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Filled with low-lifes, thugs, and druggies
By Lisa, 4/18/11
With a weekly rate advertised on craigslist. I checked in and found the place to be a flop-house. The management is incompetent and careless. The owner of the hotel is absentee. Somewhere in alabama from what I was told. The alledged high-speed internet DOES NOT work on the second floor. The place looks nice on the outside. But on the inside its falling apart. Avoid this place... The cops are there almost every night.

Very nice hotel
By Jackie, 8/17/10
It is a big hotel, looks very nice. Good and helpful staff. Cheap price for weekly too ($199/1br). Got to love the conference room and banquet room, very spacious, perfect for all meetings and celebration occasions. They are renovating the place, so give them some time.. But overall, very nice experience. The location is not far away from Savannah downtown.. very beautiful. Will come back here next time.

I should have listened to the other reviews!!!!
By Debi, 5/30/09
No security from the doors out side, the halls the I walked down smelled horrible like urine, my room was suppose to be non-smooking, but the bed spread had a burn hole in it, and the pillow case did as well, all night long all I head was the Ice machine outside my room making Ice. And I was charged an extra $15.00 to have a dog, in a hotel that suppose to be pet friendly. Well to me thats not pet friendly. Not worth the money. And let me not for get to mention the WiFi was not working either so I was not able to submit a homework assigment that was due, I am a adult college student. I would never recomend this hotel to anyone, and I will be calling someone about this as well.

Diamond Tours should be ashamed to use this hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/13/08
I am a group leader and booked our Savannah tour thru Diamond Tours 4/7/08 - 4/11/08. this hotel was dirty, mold in rooms, torn and stained furniture in rooms, filty and stained bed linens, broken shower fixtures, broken electrical fixtures, and the list goes on & on.No hot water our last day!The next comment "Stay Away" is from one of our passengers on this tour. The Board of Health should shut this hotel down and I personally will notify the Board of Health to take action!!!

Rooms were filty, breakfast choices were few, no cereal at one seating, no orange juice most of the time, last day of stay no hot water for shower, other than that what can I say.

Quality Still Falls Short
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/9/08
Diamond Tours contracted this hotel for our Savannah trip that ended Friday, March 8, 2008. It's obvious the new owners spent some effort improving the grounds and the lobby, but the rooms were a different story. Poor plumbing fixtures, mold in the showers, filthy corners around the air conditioner (it even had screws and parts from some obvious maintenance work) and the furniture was very old and dirty. They responded to calls for servicing, but the rooms were still not anything I would book if I was scheduling a trip. The continental breakfast area was dismal and the food offering was poor. The young lady who was trying to keep things stocked was wonderfully pleasant, though. The exercise room had no television even though there was a place for one to be installed. Small bottles of water in the vending machine were $1.00 and the most convenient ice machine was not working. I will be contacting Diamond Tours to ask that they reconsider using this facility.

Stay away from here!!!
We had the unfortunate experience of staying in this hotel from 3/14/07-3/19/07. When I called to make the reservations, I was told to present my AAA card upon check in to get that rate. Upon our arrival, I was told that they could not change the rate from which it was booked, and if she cancelled and rebooked the room for the AAA rate, I would lose the room. Finally the manger came and straightened this out, but the girl at the front desk just said "you can tell I am blond". We saved $55 with AAA, we would not have if we were not insistent on them fixing the rates. Our room was not clean upon our arrival, nor was it clean for the first three days. Everyday I went to the front desk, they would give me clean towels and tell me they would clean it tomorrow. Finally, on the third day, the front desk clerk directed me to houskeeping to "take it up with them" as she stated that it was "not" her "job" to make sure that my room was cleaned, her only job was to check guests in and out. There was also another angry gentleman at the desk complaining that his room had not been clean, his room was three down from mine. Then the houskeeping staff proceeded to tell me that they were not going to "kill ourselves" to get to my room (it was on the end of the cleaning schedule)because they had so much work to do. As I walked away, they continued to complain about their workload and that the guests have "nerve" wanting all their rooms cleaned everyday. I told them that my room had not been cleaned anyday and they laughed. I did note that the housekeepers spent the majority of the day talking on their cell phones on the chairs in the lobby, they would make rude comments on the phone about whatever guest walked by at the time and give guests dirty looks. The head housekeeper who eventually cleaned our room stated that the other housekeepers "run their mouths" and are "rude to the guests". She stated that they do not listen to her either. The breakfast consisted of cold eggs that were nuked somewhere and brought in, same for the sausage. There was french toast and waffled there with a toater as well as various pastries. Due to the fact that this was St. Patrick's Day weekend, there were no other rooms available in the area, if there had been, I would have checked out.
