GREAT VACATION! Cant wait to return!
By Lisa, 02/25/09
I have to say, I tend to read many reviews from multiple websites before traveling to a place I've never been before. I'm glad I didn't let the FEW who had a questionable experience sway me from going to the Turnberry. It was FABULOUS! Everything and more. Very classy, clean, accomodating, well manicured, convenient and overall a place we will return to again and again. The resort lives up to its standards of being world class, the service was impeccable, the room was HUGE (the Fairmont room) and the pool, gardens, spa, grounds and golf course were spectacular. Know before you go, the restaurants are pricey and so are the cocktails, but the choices close and off property are many and the concierge is more than accomodating with your requests for alternative dining. We also requested a room fridge (besides the honor bar you get with the room) and kept provisions, cocktails, etc to have while in our room. Bottom line, you will not be disappointed if you stay here. We will be returning very soon!

Very nice, but.....
By Corinne, 01/04/09
It is absolutely beautiful, but VERY expensive. We did not eat at the hotel once. My fiance did play golf on both courses. Both very spendy. Ask about extra charges that they add for the private beach even though it rained two of the days we were there and we only got to spend one day there. A sandwich will cost you $16. Plus it is not in Miami, but in Aventura and about $120 cab fare to and from South Beach. The Miller course is on somekind of a sewage dump because it smelled SO bad when the wind picked up. Room and landscape was beautiful, and the service was excellent though. And it was cool that they had a shuttle to take people to the mall where you could get great food, and the mall is awsome.

Great Place!.....but bring your wallet!
By ScottL, 09/04/08
The facility, food and personnel are top notch. Really. I picked up the air/car/hotel package on yahoo for a biz trip, mostly because much of Miami frightens me...ha ha. But a burger, fries and beer in the room upon arrival cost me $40. And parking is $30/night, with no self-parking available. And an internet connection is another $13.95/night. Yikes! That was completely undisclosed, and took some 'splainin to the boss..... If top rung is what you're after (and used to paying for), this place is for you. Super nice and helpful staff.

Poor Service but polite
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/15/08
On arrival at the hotel at 730PM from Europe we wanted to have a bath and room service. It took the bags over an hour to make it to our room and room service told us it would take over an hour for a simple order. Our reservation was for a king size bed and no smoking room. They gave us a smoking room with two queen size beds. In the bath there were no face cloths and when I asked they said they were out. The next morning they could not find my car in valet, it took them 20 minutes. No furniture on the patio and pay extra for internet that is not wireless. The desk with the internet connection has no electrical connection to charge the lap top. It is 0 star service hotel with 31/2 star accommodations. I will not stay here again.

Fairmont Turnberry

Amazing room, grounds, pool and, most importantly, SERVICE! The breakfast buffet was certainly a highlight of the trip. The beds were also very comfortable. The staff made us feel welcome and pampered.

The best spa in Miami
By Vanina, 09/24/05
This hotel is neat and classy, but the best experience is really the SPA! Beatiful, great services and awesome staff! Worthy it! If you are young, Aventura is not the best area... but if you come with the family or is just looking to relax and do some shopping (Aventura Mall ios right across the street), Turnberry is the place. The food at the Veranda Restaurant is amazing!

Definatly Golfers Heaven
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/13/05
Turnberry Isle Resort in Aventura, North Miami is a definate in any golfers "must play" locations. The two golf cources are quite challenging, with the famous 18th hole on the South Course a beautifull finish. The Hotel must have one of the most beautifully designed gardens of the Souther States. The fascillities are of exceptional standard and the service is absolutely five star. Beautifull restaurants (three to choose from)and delicious meals top up a fabulous stay at Turnberry.
