University Inn and Suites, Tallahassee

I don't expect anything fancy when I stay at a motel. But I do expect the room to be COCKROACH free. On my second night at the motel, a 2 1/2 inch cockroach ran across my room. I promptly killed it and packed up my bags. I told the person working at the hotel that I'd pay for the first night, but I wanted a refund for that night because I would NOT be staying there. The person at the front desk couldn't help me, so I called back the next day to speak to a manager. I ended up talking with Gina - apparently not a manger? - who offered me a 50% refund for that night. I told her that wasn't acceptable and I wanted to talk with a manager. She became hostile and told me that the management had told her to deal with me and that IF I INSISTED ON TALKING WITH A MANAGER, SHE WOULD TAKE BACK THE 50% REFUND. How can they not let you talk with a manager!?!? I settled for the 50% because I didn't have any other options. But, I asked for a receipt for just the first night's stay so I could give that to my work for reimbursement since they won't refund me the night I didn't stay there (because they paid for a different room that night). Gina says that she can't do that. I asked if she could write something up by hand - No. I never raised my voice with her or anyone else and was never hostile - and yet she was blatantly hostile toward me - after I was the one with a COCKROACH in my room!!

Since we walked into the door of University hotel we were not happy at all. The room was clean, when we got there. But after that it went down hill, we had to ask for towels the next day, the bathroom had mold in it, we were suppose to have a contiental breafeast there was nothing there at all, lack of parking space. Also no Internet access was there and were told that we should have it in our rooms, we were there for a track meet. Worse of all we paid in cash, but yet they charged my credit card and to this day 3 months later my credit card has not been credited. Not a happy person at all. Due to a number of conversations they said that they were able to credit us back but never have and never got back to use. Not a happy person at all.
