NOT Family Friendly
By Lawrence, 10/21/11
If you have more than 2 kids, don't bother trying to stay here! We have 4 kids, ages 2, 5, 8, 14. We were trying to book a Bungalow Suite, which has a king and a sofa bed. They checked to see if a crib and roll away bed would be allowed, but the over 700 sf area, over $300/ night room would not accommodate it. Booking 2 rooms over $400/ night was the next option. They wanted $440 to hold the rooms, but would not guarantee they would be connecting. If we did not cancel before 7 days, we would be charged this amount, even if they could not provide connecting rooms as we requested. No thanks- my kids are small and for over $400/ night we should know we are together! I asked for a supervisor and she did nothing. When describing the resort, they talked about how family friendly they were. What a joke, they won't even let them make reservations!

Looking forward to going back next year!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/25/10
We had an 11th Floor Signature Gulf Room. The bathroom was very nice and we loved the view from our balcony. The pools were awesome and their is a little golf card/tram that takes you back and forth to the Gulf. Food is this establishment is expensive. Next time we will look at saving a few bucks and buying breakfast bars, yogurts, etc to keep in our hotel room. You can rent a refridgerator for $25/stay. We did self parking to save on valet costs. Beautiful, updated hotel room, clean, nice pools, what else can you want?

Would not stay here again!
By Julie Blythe, 8/15/09
First surprise was the set of stairs that you have to go up with your suitcases! Give me a break-a Waldorf Astoria Hotel and you pay how much? to drag your suitcase up the stairs? Or you can drag them out of the enclosed parking lot and pull them up the hill (this is better). Same routine when you then check out-stairs or long walk in the street. Other irritating factors-the main restaurant is sorely understaffed and you have to wait hours for very small portions of expensive food. Also, they were out of many food items. It took us 2 hrs to eat a simple dinner, missed the evening pool hrs. In case you check in late and you want a quick snack, you will find that there are no vending machines and no stocked fridge to buy snacks from. You can only buy limited snacks from the gift shop, when it is open. Bring your own snacks and drinks! They do have an ice machine and ice bucket. Also, don't stay in an upper room in the summer-it is very hot! We had someone come to fix the air and nothing changed. FYI, the hotel is not right on the beach-you must walk or ride a golf cart through a pathway to find a very small beach at the end (not worth it). The pools are nice, but very crowded. The only good part is that hotel is very close to 2 shopping centers that have many good restaurants.

Wonderful..Can't wait to go Back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/13/09
I went to chill out and relax and the Naples Grande Resort was a wonderful place to do it!! All staff very friendly. The walk to the beach is a very nice 15 minute walk or trams are always available and the wait is 5 minutes or less. Nice beachfront grill for lunch and cups of ice water always available. The $20.00 charge for the beach umbrella is well worth it especially if you stay several hours on the beach. Lots of great seashells along the beach. The rooms are very nice and the bathtub....wow......was huge! The restaurants and drinks are a little pricey but the food and service was excellent. A bananna is $2.00 and water is $4.00 ....what are they thinking??? The concerige was very helpful in planning outings, although you had to ask for information, no information or brochures are out to pick up. The spa experience was very nice but a bit too pricey as compared with other spas I have been to. Next time I would rent a car and check out other restaurants nearby, although getting a taxi was no problem. If you are looking for night life, there is none at this hotel except for sitting a the bar chatting with other people.... a piano bar would have been really nice. There is a deli, gift shop, and outdoor bar/grill but they all close at 6:00 p.m. Would have been great if they would stay open for snacks, light eating and getting drinks by the pool in the evening. The Everglades Exercusion Tour and the Trolley Tour found in the brochure were very nice and worth the time and money. Just be sure to check the Trolley schedule and set your watch to Florida time .....close call on missing the trolley while shopping! I would recommend staying at the Naples Grande but next time I might check out a different place just to be different. I think it is more seculded and quieter than some of the other hotels but that is what I went for on this trip. Lots of couples and families......not much for the single person but it still was a great experience!! I am ready for my next trip to Naples!! Pam, Tulsa, OK

gorgeous view
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/13/09
The resort is very beautiful, the pictures on the website is exactley what you get.The clam beach is a short ride away. They pick you up on a little trolley and bring you back.beach is gorgeous.all chairs and umbrellas are extra even though you pay a $20 a day resort fee daily.no coffee in lobby for free just $2 for a small oh yeah wifi is extra to.if you are thirsty they have bottled water in your room for a charge of $5.the food at the pool is good but pricey.overall i really did enjoyed my stay the pool was was wonderful and my son enjoyed the water slide.I would recommend the experience but if your on a budget maybe this isnt the place if dont want breakfast or coffee then go for the luxury.

a 3 star hotel acting like a 5 star
By Jason and ShelleyA, 3/30/08
Lets start positive, the location was great. The pool and access to the beach a plus. The staff and housekeeping was horrible. When we checked in and escorted to our room the room wasn't ready. After a long travel day we wanted to take a nap but instead waited 45 minutes for someone to show up to give us sheets for our bed. The hotel is nice but I won't be back.

very nice
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/21/08
I belive this hotel is very expensive during the winter months but you can get a room pretty cheap in the summer. Everything was so perfect. the staff waits on you hand and foot. But do yourself a favor and dont book your car from the airport through thr hotel. we paid $135.00 for a black towncar to the Ritz, and then discovered Royal Palm Limo while we were there. They had the same Black towncars to the airport for $75.00. unbeliveble. if you are interested the # is 239-293-0632 ask for Greg

Has to be better places for thte $
By Eric, 6/7/07
Positives - Great tennis facilities, excellent food and beverages Negatives Checked us out after day 1 of our 3 night stay. Promised to credit breakfast for our inconvenience - they didn't. Very dimly lit rooms Had to call three times before finally obtaining a copy of our final bill Unless free, would not likely stay here again.
