DoubleTree by Hilton at the Entrance to Universal Orlando, Orlando

We stayed for two night and did not use housekeeping. We called the careline and requested additional wash cloths and never received them. We discovered roaches in the bathroom. Upon check out we told the front desk representative about the roaches. The representative stated that we should have informed them before our final bill was printed so that we could have been given a discount on our stay.

staff was an uninterested pack of zombies, no ameneties were offered, while less perstigious hotels are offering free breakfast we were thrown one chocolate chip cookie, room was clean but at these prices that should be expected, they tried to charge me for the use of the room safe when no sign was posted for charge of it's use, i'll stay at best westen next time.

First time we stay at this hotel. The room was very spacious, very clean. The hotel personnel was very courteous and we had a great time at the pool. Loved their parking lot too.

If you are looking to get a lil' bang for your buck, this is the place to stay! First of all, find a room deal & snatch it up. We paid $59/night and booked a room w/view of Universal Studios. The kids loved waking up to that each morning. Get a room in the South Tower, since it is the closest to everything w/in the hotel. It also helps to be a Hilton Honors member since you stand in a different line when checking in & out. The staff was courteous, very helpful and they all greeted you! And they did a great job tidying up our room each day! We very seldom eat at hotels, but they do have a Starbucks & a deli that was a bit cheaper than Universal, so you can't go wrong with pizza and sandwiches. Didn't care for the ice cream, so have that at Universal since they have Ben & Jerry's and Dipping Dots there. We did eat at TGI Fridays across the street. It's connected to the Holiday Inn, so we ate there one night & just out of pure exhaustion we did eat at Carnivale, the hotel restaurant. It was not that pricey, pretty average for an entree & the food was excellent! Try their ecofriendly menu, it was superb! We would have spent the same, if we kept our reservation at Wolfgang Puck's restaurant @ Citywalk. And all we did was go through the lobby! Next, unless you like walking, it's relatively cheap to just get a cab or private car (they are available all day long) to & from Universal Studios, about $5 + tip each way. Beats waiting for the shuttle, since there are three add'l hotel stops before you get there. If you want to rent a car, AVIS is in the lobby. Also find a deal beforehand & book your reservation in advance. And they work with you. Luciano really helped us out the day we had inclement weather. It couldn't get any better than this! Great location, very convenient. Saved tons of money and also as Hilton Grand Vacation owner, I did have an option to stay at one of the two locations in Orlando, but opted for this instead! If ever we go back, you can bet your money that we will stay here again!

The room's refrigerator didn't work and the sink in the bathroom wasn't working properly. Both nights there were guests next to me making noise. The staff was apathetic and didn't want to do anything about it!

I was very happy with the service and the cleaniness of the room.. I found the restaurant outrageously expensive for breakfast for two people $35.00 and i do not agree that you should have to pay for parking in their parking lot $12 a day. You get a phone call in the morning to find out it is a timesharing set up in the lobby.... I would say i probably would try another hotel if i went back to fla. the only reason we booked this one it was in the package deal through Southwest Vacations......

The service was great, and the rooms were nice with excellent location for parks. The guest services were excellent in their recommendation of places to eat and called ahead for us. This was the best experience i have had at a hotel at that price. Highly recommended

I thought the hotel was very nice. The rooms were clean, the beds VERY comfortable but the front desk staff was VERY unfriendly.

We stayed at this motel for two nights on a recent trip to Universal. The location was great as we were going to Halloween Horror Night at Universal and we got a cab over for only $5.00. The beds at this hotel were so comfortable we didn't want to get up the next day. All in all we felt this hotel was a great value for the money.

This an old hotel they have tried to remodel. The rooms are just ok, not as good as Hampton Inn, Marriot Inn and Suites that are located near the entrance to Universal. There were spots on carpet, mold in tile in bathroom, 2 inch gap at bottom of door that let in light and the sound of every door that opened or closed on the entire floor. They say they have a casual resturant. Breakfast buffet is $25.00 per person, pancakes are $14.00. Coffee in room is horrible, you have to go downstairs to Starbucks or snack shop. You will be pressured to go on a sales pitch for a Hilton timeshare. Please do not ruin your vacation time by staying in this place. This would be a terrible place for anyone with small children. I would not stay here again if they gave me a room for free.
