Sea Shell Motel, Naples

I very rarely take the time and effort to write reviews about anything. After reading the previous review, i just had to. I live in NY city. I take the month of December off every year and come to Naples. I have been staying at this Motel for the past 8 years. I have NEVER had a problem with ANYTHING !! To the person who wrote the previous review, this is my response. " This place is not a dump. It is clean and neat. There is a full time girl who keeps the rooms spotless. In all my years coming here, i have never seen a single bed bug, let alone any kind of bug !! The people who run this establishment are all about making your stay perfect. And NO this place should NOT be shut down !! If your looking for a 5 star Hotel, go find one. Naples is loaded with them !! " Now that i got that done, let me tell you what i really think. Naples is a gem of a spot to visit. The Sea Shell Motel is in the perfect spot. A true throw back from the 50's, it makes you feel like your living in the past. The beach is a walk down the street. "1st. Avenue South" beach is a tranquil and private beach. Each block has its own beach and they all have their own personality. I chose this location for my wedding, and it was incredible. Also, going down town is 4 blocks. In December, all the restaurants have specials, and offer 2 entres and a bottle of wine for 30 bucks. Our favorite, hands down, is The Mangrove Cafe. So drinking & driving is a non issue. Every year we make The Sea Shell our home. We are treated like family here. I would never even consider going elsewhere !! I would love to keep writing, but its time to grab some cold beers, and watch yet another PERFECT sunset !!!! If your coming to southwest Florida, look no further than The Sea Shell Motel. You will not be disappointed. I promise......EC

I and my wife run the half marathon in Naples,and stay in Sea Shell Motel. The reservation is OK and the hotel fantastic,no more two blocks the start line the race. Very clean and hospitality great. Thanks Lisa

VERY NICE PLACE,VERY CLEAN , QUIET,CLOSE TO EVERY EXTREMEILY NICE PLACE,GREAT STAFF JUST FANTASTIC FOLKS..,CLEAN,CONVIENT TO EVERTHING IN AREA,BEAUTIFUL GROUNDS AND POOL,EZ PARKING-CANT WAIT TO GO BACK.

I liked the spacious room, cleanliness, location of the motel and the room rates. My only dislike was the hours of checkin/out. A pool was available and my friend from upstate florida and the midwest like to congregate here in late winter/early spring.

my wife and i have stayed twice at the seashell it is in a great location for everything and is a reminder of the 1960s motels you see on old films we way go back

We stayed at the Seashell for a few nights at the end of September. It was quaint but dissapointing overall. We were due to go back after our visit to the Keys, but changed our plans and got a better deal at a different motel up the road. The main problems were due to a lack of maintenance - such as no hot water, ineffective shower, very noisy air-con unit, debris all round the pool and so on. We got no maid service Sunday - just towels dropped on the bed so we had to make up the room and take out the trash ourselves. There's no breakfast, yet for a few bucks more you can get a different motel that provides that free and more besides. The folks were freindly enough, but they are not always there. It would have been nice to have the front desk staffed longer in case of any problems. We didn't bother complaining given that we were on vacation and only there a few nights. Perhaps we should have though.

The husband and wife management team are so helpful and friendly. The pool is a great feature and although it's on the main route 41 it feels secluded. Going back for our 5th visit this time with the new family member. Hopefully she's going to love it too.

Sea Shell is reminder of the days gone by in the hotel industry. It is managed by a young couple who care about your concerns and your needs being met while you stay with them. The hotel has charm from the 50's and 60's and we enjoy the cool way the rooms are set up along with the pool. You can drink your coffee under the covered porch and enjoy the beautiful flowers as you listen to the birds singing in the trees. Very relaxing without paying a bunch of money.
