Ranch House Inn and Suites, Winter Haven

Look, a deal is a deal, when you agree on a price for something normally you get it right? Not here, its not a nice place , and the staff is miserable. Cant blame them, the place is a dump, with one room used for internet pictures, probably taken by the drunk maintenance man whos always asking people for ciggarettes, because he has to work for free or be homeless, total lack of respect by the grouchy foriegn man at the desk who couldnt understand anything except the cash in my pocket... When I asked why I couldnt recieve what they call internet he said he didnt know what I was talking about, but the flashing sign said WIFI !!! Asked the desk clerk for a refund and was told theyd be fired if it was given, all this in less than ten mins after arrival. My "room" was supposed to be an "efficiency" with a "kitchen" that consisted of a microwave that was at least ten years old and smelled like it, a fridge that was hot, and the room smelled of mold. Not to mention the rather large brown roach looking bugs under my bed. Forget it, I should have bought a tent with my $60.00 than feed these "people" who obviously only care about owning hotels and ripping us off blind. Never again, going back to Colorado.

We booked this motel off the internet website, Pictures of the motel must have been taken 50 years ago. When we got to florida and checked into the Ranch House motel we were in for a BiG Surpiise. First we we told of a free breakfast at I-Hop on the phone and that did not happen. when we got in the room( HOOKER Paradise) floors were moldy, room really stunk. Beds mattrass was stained and moldy, Sheets were stained . NO WAY were we going to stay there. We went right back to the office to get our money back and they REFUSED A refund. we went to another hotel. DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT STAY THERE What a ___ Hole.

My husband & i were passing thru Winter Haven on business. After a very long drive we stopped into the Ihop to eat & decided to spend the night at The Ranch House Inn & Suites for the night. Just trying to rent a room was a nightmare to begin with. A very large man was in the office & was rude from the word go. I am not sure which smelled worse, the office or the front desk asscociate. We thought surely once we got to room everything would be ok. My mistake!! He put us into a room that the carpet was torn & staines everywhere. I pulled the sheets back & the were also extremely soiled. The room smelled like someone had died!! So he put us into another room which was not much better. We then asked for a refund & was told "No Refunds". Ok so we were stuck. Then we were woke up with a woman & man fighting over drug items right at our door. The cops showed up several times. Strange people kept passing the back window & looking in. I was terrified. We checked out early. Don't waste your money on this place it is a dump.

This motel puts the chains to shame. We were treated like family and the room was as clean as we have ever seen. The owners and help were very courteous and helpful. Hospitality will bring us back again. Thanks again.

Room was clean and comfortable. Staff were very helpful. Decor was a bit outdated but we had a good time and the pool was great. Would be happy to recommend anyone visiting Winter Haven.

Our room was very clean and had lots of space. The pool was very relaxing. The front desk clerk was very accommodating. There was a great friendly atmosphere. We would most definitely stay here again.

My reservation was to stay 4 nights, but I left after 2 because the place was so noisy I couldn't sleep and there were creepy/rowdy people around all night. The owners were rude and refused to give me a refund for the 2 nights I didn't stay there. I had to enter a dispute w/ the credit card company. Additionally the place is an eyesore from the street and the outside. Hopefully it will be torn down to make room for a Fairfield Inn.

when you check in you sign a form that basically says they can kick you out without recourse but you can never leave. three of our group found cockroaches in their rooms. they were able to accommodate two couples with the smae class room. the 3rd couple took a lower class room with no rebate for the downgrade. Do not stay here. there are broken things (toilets, phones, thermostats) in most rooms. the management is dictatorial.

I know the saying "you get what you pay for"... and for $60/night, I expected a little more than what we got. The place looked like something straight out of a horror movie (think: Bates Motel). We got real keys with the paddle on them stating the room number, just like all the victims get in those horrow classics. The lack of technology was not my complaint... infact that wasn't what bothered me at all. Upon entering the room, it smelled like a combination of cigarette smoke (we were told we were getting a nonsmoking room) and death. The window in the bathroom wouldn't lock, so we were afraid that someone would try to climb in during the middle of the night. There was a ceiling tile missing, which lead to a crawl-space above the closet, which was also quite unsettling. The beds had stains on the sheets, forcing us to unhappily sleep on top of the bed spread. Neighbors were noisy drunks, happily sitting on patio furniture drinking beer and being loud into the lae hours of the night. There were no curtains on the windows, and some blinds missing, allowing others to see in. When asked if we could switch rooms, we were told there was none other available in that price range, and that we would have to pay more for another room, and that the room we paid for was non refundable. How anyone in their right mind would be okay with renting a room in that condition for that price has something terribly wrong with them. I couldn't be paid to stay in that dump again!!!!! It was just absolutely disgusting... the kind of place you don't want to touch anything unless you can wash or sanitize your hands immediatly after. If you're looking to relive any horror movie, such as Psycho, Identity or JoyRide, this is the perfect place for you to stay. Personally, I prefer cleanliness, a pleasant smell, courteous staff and personal safety to this hell-hole. If I could rate it 0/5 stars, I would. More power to you if you can stand a place like this, but vacationer be warned! Pay the extra $30 or whateve to stay in some place decent! This is NOT WORTH IT AT ALL!!!!!!!!
