Never go again!
By Jill, 12/9/09
While the pool area and bar were great the rooms were very small. Which I could still deal with...however. We were there for a wedding and in total had 8 rooms booked. I came in from Michigan and wore only a jean jacket. The weather was nice, we were just there for 3 nights so didn't wear the jacket while I was there. We arrived on a Friday and on Sunday I couldn't find my jacket. I sort of dismissed it and assumed when I started packing the next day I would find it. Well it was not there. I reported it to the front desk and had them ask the housekeeper but of course she had not seen it. It was a Harley Davidson 105th anniversary edition jacket, so was upset that I couldn't find it. Everyone assumed I just left it somewhere, but knew I hadn't. Well soon my sister in a different room found that her Harley hoody was also missing. Not just a coincidence I don't think. So we called the police, who questioned the housekeeper. The manager said they had never had a problem like that before, which I highly doubt. The housekeeper did not speak English but had a translater and of course totally denied seeing either jacket. The smirk on her face as she walked away from the police questioning basically said it all. The hotel offered to turn into their insurance which I am sure would be a waste of time, so we did get them to knock some off our rooms. But that is really not the point. I know not to leave money or jewelry, cameras etc in a room, but always assumed my clothes were safe. Needless to say we will never go back!

Hmm.. book with caution.
By Lovely, 10/1/08
So here is the thing.. the pictures don't exactly give a clear picture of what you are going to get. All of the pictures show superior rooms. We got a deluxe thinking well it's *deluxe.* Go into it knowing deluxe=standard. I will try to be as objective as possible: Pros: A deluxe room is well decorated with modern tasteful decor. No sea shells and whatnot. The carpet and bedding were clean. The bathroom is very tasteful with marble counter tops and great decor. The hotel is easy to find. They use Bath and Body Works soaps and lotions. There is a safe in the bathroom and refrigerator, coffee maker, etc. Cons: When I called to make the reservation the front desk told me that they are in the process of renovation -- so all rooms would be superior -- therefore I booked a deluxe not a superior. Apparently that is happening later this year and *I heard wrong* (which is a theme you will read several times -- I guess I should get that tested). A deluxe is quite standard -- if it wasn't for the decor we could have just stayed at the Days Inn/ Holiday Inn or any other standard hotel. The deluxe room is SMALL. No forreal it is small. There is no flat screen like on the website. The bathroom, while nice is small and narrow. The front desk worker said we had a patio -- we get to our room and there is no patio -- unless the front door walkway is considered a patio. Once again she told me *I heard wrong.* I guess my hubby heard wrong too since he was standing right there. It is more like a motel with outside entrances. There is renovation so there are quite a few trucks and crews milling about. They take away from the "luxury" atmosphere -- but I guess work has to be done sometimes. Our refrigerator won't get "cold" so prepare for that. We just didn't feel like calling maintenance for it. Our room came with one washcloth. After the *third* call someone brought down more. I thought my hubby was going to have a fit at the service. Our safe was already locked so maintenance had to come down.. and then housekeeping had to come back again and bring us an ironing board. All minor things but coming one after the other it was VERY annoying. The price we paid was $119 -- not a lot but it was more of a $79 a night feel. If you are celebrating something special I would make sure you go for a superior room with a balcony that faces the pool or the water (make sure it's not facing the IHOP). We decided to check out early and move to the Reach Resort to have more of the "feel" we were looking for since this is our Babymoon (celebrating the upcoming birth of our first child). I will tell you all about that once our stay is over there.

Unfriendly Front Desk Staff! Nice pool.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/17/07
The hotel itself was attractive. Beautiful pool and landscaping. Our room was nice; the bathroom lacked a working exhaust fan which left us in a sauna after every shower. The front desk staff was another story altogether. The staff was completely unfriendly and indifferent to any simple request made. The front desk staff was not the least bit concerned with providing any sort of positive customer experience whatsoever. Absolutely none! We felt invisible and unwelcome each time we passed the prominent front desk. Simple questions about the hotel were met with a blank stare or an “I don’t know. You will have to ask someone else”. On the other hand, our wait staff was friendly and prompt and our concierge was wonderful.

I would go back for the pool!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/27/07
I stayed here for 4 nights for Thanksgiving. First off the hotel staff at first were noot friendly at check- in but at check-out, they were pretty nice, The people who cleaned the rooms, they were ok. Second is the cafe staff. The cafe food was exellent, they had a Thanksgiving lunch special there. Very Good!!! The cafe staff was very nice too. The rooms were clean, though i found a couple living small bugs but i could live with that. The bathroom was nice and clean, so was the room. But i rate the room as average for looking good. It was clean, but it was your average room. Then luckily we got the spot where you can look out and see the pool. The pool has it's own tiki bar and towel shack. The pool is supposed to be the biggest in Key West. And i would say it is the NICEST!!!! I loved that pool. It was so nice. The atmosphere around the pool was spectacular. Palm trees and pretty everything else. It has a waterfall. The pool was the best part of the hotel. The location of the hotel i would think is pretty good. It is by the beach, but not in the middle of downtown. Overall, i would like to come back to this hotel again. It was nice.

Disappointment
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/9/06
I had read other reviews on other sites, and they sounded like this might really be a nice place. Wrong. We were stuck in the back of the hotel (ground floor), very motel-like accomodation. The pillows were horrible, the sheets were worse, and I had to ask for the housekeeping staff to vacuum our room (which they had not bothered to do in two days)...and on top of that my husband was generously leaving tips for the housekeeping staff, in hopes that we wouldn't have this kind of situation. All in all I would not recommend this hotel. It is far from the main part of Key West, and lacks "attention to detail".

Fun Place
By Skip, 9/14/04
We've stayed a number of places in Key West, and this was our favorite by far. The hotel is located away from the main bustle of Duval street, but not so far that it's a hassle. Then again you can drive all the way around the island in 10 minutes so I guess that doesn't mean too much.

The rooms are nice, the service is good, the pool is the best in Key West, the Tiki bar is relaxed and comfortable, and the restaurant there is good especially for breakfast. Definitely recommended.
