Howard Johnson Inn, St. Augustine

this was one of the worst places i stayed in i have coming to st augustine for many years. the rooms where awful, there where ants on the walls and bed,had to change rooms 2 times,the people at the front desk had a bad attitude. i will never stay here again

Staying in a Howard Johnson Inn took me back to travels when I was a child: what fun! I found the bed to be among the more comfortable I've ever stayed in...regretted moving on. The location was excellent. Although this is an older motel, the place was clean, the staff helpful and the rates reasonable. Loved The General and the decor and colors of the motel were "very Florida"

I chose this hotel because I needed a place to stay in a good location that was inexpensive. It was one of the least expensive hotels in the area but I at least expected it to be clean. I didn't need anything fancy on this trip. I would never stay there again or recommend it. The place was filthy, needs updating. I just couldn't believe that a Howard Johnsons could be that bad. How did this place get a star rating?? I guess because you have to give them at least one star to fill out this review.

Location was good. As all these reviews state the service sucks, the place is dirty as hell, and we too had obscene gestures written in soap all over the walls... You would think that they would have this cleaned before renting it out to customers. All I can say is DO NOT STAY HERE! And forget about getting your money back for any inconvenience... They take it and run. Very unfair.

the rooms had ants on the walls and on the sinks. the people woking there are very rude we had 2 different rooms because of the problem with ants. the owners where rude about the 2 complaint saying because we had a dog they would have to do the carpets when we left and did not want to us to go to another room. so we left in the middle of the night i would never go back to that howard johnson again.

when we stayed the bath was nasty hair behind the door tub was growing something. the sleeping area carpet was dirty and door had a crack around it large enough for a snake or small rodent to crawl through.

The location was good, but the beds were mushy. I asked if there might be a room I could switch to with a firmer mattress and the staff said all of the beds were just as soft. My relatives had other rooms and this seemed to be true. Do not stay here if you have back problems. Also all of the pillows were incredibly thin. My cousin piled up sweatshirts under her pillow for comfort. The rooms were dark, too, except for the bathroom mirror/sink area. Breakfast consisted of two kinds of cereal, one or two kinds of fruit, bagels/bread and cream cheese, jelly.

What a great place. Stayed here when my daughter was touring Flagler College and will be back since she has decided to attend. Reminds me of what Florida hotels were like when I was a boy. Our room was very clean, the staff was wonderful and location, location, location. The free breakfast was icing on the cake. For us, this is the only place we will visiting her at Flagler.

This Hotel was Awful! I think it's the worst and dirtiest foul smelling place i have ever stayed in , the only plus to it was the location being close to the tourist attractions other than that it was a terriblw expirience we even checked out early due to our dis-satisfaction and were charged for the complete days of our stay , with this kind of THEFT you would think that the rooms would be at least half decent this place gives the Ramada bad name!

Horrible rooms and service, the bathroom is extremely small and uncomfortable space for privacy, you can barely lock the door, also the bathtub had mildew and the walls were written with obscene messages made with soap, the corners of the tiled floor area were full of hair, the sink was clogged. Even worse the service was horrible, they didn't bring any toilet paper,so we had to keep using tissue paper, also one of the decaf coffee bags were already open and used. We couldn't enjoy the pool and jacuzzi, it was filthy, full of leaves and green water, they never cleaned it for a whole week in such a beautiful weather. I wont recommend this hotel, its a huge disappointment.
