A Tiki Bar...need a say more?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/9/11
What I really liked about The Outrigger was just the feeling of relaxation, the rates in October were fabulous because its off season and staff were absolutely wonderful. Friendly and very accomodating with suggestions for places to eat, see, and enjoy besides what they have at the hotel. The rooms are little outdated but if your the kind that doesn't need to stay at a Hyatt or a Hilton, then you'll really enjoy this place. The only slight drawback was the pool gets crowded early but you always have the white sandy beaches to chill out on right outside your door...so go and enjoy.

Away from the hustle & bustle
By Mike, 6/28/09
I've been to Ft Myers Beach twice and both times I've stayed at the Outrigger Beach Resort. I'm not sure how much of a "resort" it is, but it's a great, inexpensive place with an expansive beach and nice rooms. The best thing about the hotel is its location. It's removed from the downtown tourist area and all the trappings of that. There's a fair restaurant across the street and a 7-11 nearby, meaning that you don't really need to leave the area for much of anything.

Had an AWESOME time
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/22/09
We live in Miami and wanted a quick, close get away. We had been to Estero island before but stayed somewhere else and didn't like it. We will definately go back to Outrigger. We had a 4th floor efficiency overlooking the water. It was great to sit on the balcony and watch the rain come in over the Gulf. The efficiency was fully equipped and we certainly took advantage of the refrigerator, microwave and stove. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. There are plenty of activities to do on the island from renting jet ski's, parasailing, motorscooters, restaurants, shops, etc. The best part with this resort was that it wasn't on the busy side of the island but close enough to the action. We are already planning our next trip!!!

We loved the Outrigger
By katodach, 2/17/09
The Outrigger was a great place for vacation. We had a 3rd floor efficiency overlooking the water. The efficiency was fully equipped. The views were great, the room was clean, and the staff was friendly and accomodating. When we go back to Florida, this is the only hotel we will stay at.

Loved it!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/8/08
We were here the first week of April 2008 and can't wait to go back! Everyone was so friendly starting with the reservations clerk. The setting, the beach, the pool, the Tiki Bar and the entertainment were wonderful. They have a deckside cafe with great food at good prices and the wait staff is just as great as the front staff. There is nothing better than stepping out on the patio of a beachfront room in the morning and looking out at the beach. This is a great place to go.

Home Away from Home
By Amy Oquendo, 5/5/08
The beachfront ground floor efficiencies are absolutely fabulous. From sunrise to sunset it is the greatest place to be. The service is great and the cafe is fabulous. We live in Florida and try to visit The Outrigger as often as possible.

Return visitor
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/30/08
Location on the Beach is perfect! Near a great restaurant (Charlies) across the street. Tiki Bar is located poolside so you can enjoy a beverage while kids swim. Beach is deep, white, and clean. Descent restaurant located onsite. Daily hot breakfast buffet or menu ordering. Also nearby is a dinner style movie theatre, an executive golf course with good rates, and a 7-11 for quick stop shopping. It is away from the main part of Fort Myers, which has a lot of smaller shops and plenty of traffic! The hotel is close to Bonita Springs where there is plenty of outlet shopping. A sure yearly retreat for our family!

A friend and I have had our girls trip here the past 2 years, 2007 and 2006! We love this place, we always get the beachfront room on ground level and it is totally worth it! Looking forward to returning
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/2/07
Our stay at Outriggers just ended and we are already talking about returning soon. They have a beautiful beach, feels very private. we watched the sun set as dolphins froliced in the ocean. There were many sand dollars and star fish during low tide - we threw them back into deeper water since they were still alive. A nice clean pool right next to a fully stocked tiki bar. A very good diner with reasonable prices. Everything we wanted was right there. If your staying a while you can buy some supplies at Publix (just up the road a bit) and bring them back to your room. We had a small refrigerator in our room - you may want a microwave too. The room was average with a small TV (the fidge was a pleasant surprise) but we didn't spend too much time there. Water pressure was low in the shower but we got clean. Gas prices are high right on the beach.
