Ocean East Resort Club, Ormond Beach

We recently stayed at Ocean East and were delighted with the accommodations. The rooms weren't huge but the hotel made great use of available space and everything was clean and well maintained. The staff were very friendly. We would recommend the Ocean East to anyone traveling to the Daytona/Ormond Beach area.

I really liked the lacation and the pool was nice. Our stay wasn't as relaxing as it should've been. Roof repairs (actually full destruction of a concrete fixture) that took place right above our 4th story room... directly under the construction. We couldn't hear each other talk. No food in the pool area was also annoying- chips and fruit are always nice to have while you're in the sun. The rooms are great. The view is amazing as well. We decided that we would try another place next year, after going to Ocean East for years.

Not as fancy schmancy as other RCI properties, but right on the ocean, great pool; reasonable and wonderful onsite restaurants, groceries and other essentials a few blocks away, small enough that you're not walking a mile to the common areas from your building. A few activities, an open rec room, and everyone is so nice! Everyone I talked to loved it and had been coming for years.

We went down to Ocean East on the 39th week.Everything was nice and clean,inside and out.The people we met there were the nicest we have encountered on any vacation.Looking forward to going again next year.We liked it so much we bought a condo week.

I like it because it is a great place for children and grown ups. I love the beach area, I love the activities for all ages. It is convenient to eating places and shopping. I feel safe there because of the security. I have never been to a place I enjoyed more. It is always neat and clean. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need and if you do have a problem maintenance is there immediately. Staff is always nice and friendly and accommodating.

THEY NEED NEW CLEANING PEOPLE AND MANAGEMENT. THEY NEED TO KEEP THE FISH POND CLEAN. THEY NEED TO TRAIN DESK PEOPLE WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ALL ABOUT. THEY JUST NEED A COMPLETE OVERHAUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The appearance, maintenance and overall cleanliness of the units has gone down hill. Rooms have a musky smell and carpets are dirty. Air coniditioning unit leaked because filters had not been changed. Mirrors in some units have a blue film on them. Some of the chairs on the deck need replaced. Soap dish in bathtub missing so a pc. of tile (not same color as other tile) put over the hole rather than replace it. One of the sliding doors between bedrooms removed and the quality of workmanship is horrible. With the fees and insurance money that was collected from the storms I do not think the owners are getting what they're paying for.

My husband and I rented a one bdrm condo at Ocean East Resort, Daytona Beach, FL. from 5-7-05 to 5-14-05. We were very unconfortable in our assigned unit. Carpet was very dirty, kitchen floor, bathroom floor and tub had not been cleaned. A very unpleasant odor throughout the condo. We would not stay here again.
