certainly not worth the $179 per night
By faye, 11/21/11
By far the worse villa/resort that I have visited and certainly not worth the price. I had a neighbor call to ask me to turn my television down because she could not sleep because of the noise. The walls are thin to say the least. The unit smelled of bug spray and the paper towels under the sink smelled of bug spray. The drain in the tub was SLOW as was the shower head. Who pays for internet service these days and I was offered complimentary internet service only after I complained. The iron overheated and burn the ironing pad. The sink in the bathroom was so low I thought I was in a handicap bathroom. I almost had to stoop to use the sink to wash my face. I am a Marriott Rewards member and I definitely would not be going back to Sawgrass.

The hotel is absolutely wonderful!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/14/11
The parking is the worst. Self parking is a bit of a jog from the main hotel and it is $10.00 a day. The valet parking is the ticket, but, rather expensive (20.00 a day) What I liked the most is how well the hotel accomodates their guests. The activities, restaurants and entertainment in and around the hotel was just perfect. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there. Make sure you pick up a flyer when you check in or at some point. It list the hotel activities as well any discounts or specials they may have. I got one quote over the phone for spa services but when I got to the hotel, the Spa had some services at a special (discounted) rate.

DEFINITELY not a 4-star hotel
By Zippydog, 3/23/11
4 Stars??? No way! I recently stayed at the Sawgrass Marriott for 2 days, and was excited to hear we were staying in a "4 star" hotel. The grounds, main building, lobby, and pub/restaurant were very nice. The 'villa' where I stayed, however, was not so nice... DEFINITELY nothing close to a 4-star rating. I can't speak for the main hotel rooms, but the villas are basically outdated 2-star motel rooms that were WAY overpriced. Here's what I found there that I definitely wouldn't expect in a 4+ star hotel: -outside 'motel-like' room entrances, -no elevator (terrible when you have a lot of gear like I did) -thin walls - could hear people next door talking -outdated interiors (very mid-90s) -shared rear balcony with room next door... wouldn't have been so bad if curtains closed properly -$13/day internet... is it really too much to ask to include internet with the room cost?? -bathroom not very clean - hair in tub -complimentary shampoo appeared to have been previously used -loud AC fan - rattled (luckily this drowned out the sound of the drunk neighbors talking) -slow drain in shower -old tube-type TV (even most motels have upgraded those by now!) -dirty dishes were outside the motel door for my entire stay. Some of those negatives would have been okay in a 2-star motel. I hate to sound snobby... I'll stay in a Motel6 no problem... I just don't want to be promised (and charged for) a 4 star hotel, when I'm actually getting a 2-star motel. My room was almost $200 a night and was nowhere near as nice as rooms that are typically 1/2 that price.

Excellent!
By JamesB, 8/4/10
Great location, with tons of amenities: family pool, adult pool, private beach with pool, Spa with gym, another gym in main building. Restaurants are expensive, but expected. There are several decent restaurants close by, in fact, the Burger King was 6 miles away, but if stay here, you can afford something better than BK or McD. Stayed during last week of my summer vacation, and at $ 109 a night, beats Holiday Inns, Courtyards, etc

"Will not be back"
By Tee, 2/19/09
The facility was listed as a 4 star resort, perhaps ten years ago or maybe the in main building. As we were put in villas quite a distance from the main building & amenities. The carpet had stains, windows had mold, the door safety lock was broken, the air conditioning unit cover was coming off etc... The worst is the fact that construction was in process across the parking lot very noisey and it began early in the morning and throughout the day. I only service this facility was on top of was the maid service as they made in a point to stop by daily. Otherwise I have stayed in better 2 star hotels & would be embarrassed to recommend.

Disappointed in Paradise
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/17/07
The Marriott at Sawgrass is a wonderful location with lots to do. Golf, shop, eat, beach, etc. Unfortunantly, the hotel did not do the things one would expect based upon the price you pay. We were visiting with friends and reserved a suite with an ajoining king room. When we arrived they had one room for one night and one room for four nights. One room was a room with tow doubles and the suite was not on the same floor. When we went up to our suite the room was already occupied. Luckily nobody was in when we walked in. No turn down and they never re-stocked our mini-bar. We got the impression they were more concearned with conventions then four paying guests. We made the best of it and had a wonderful time but the hotel is not what this location should be.

Beach Day
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/17/06
This place was a great way to relax away from my ordinary life. The rooms of course were fabulous equiped with feather covers for the beds. The TV had a nice selection of channels and movies. The bathroom was equiped with hygien materials a sink, bathtub, and toilet. Outside was great including 2 pools that were freezing cold, a minigolf area, playground, and bars. The restaurants were way to expensive so you have to go to eat somewere else but I only found a McDonalds! The beach isn' infront the hotel but you can go to the Cabana Club in a free shuttle to spend the day. This is also a great hotel for buisness having about 20 conferense rooms.
