Staff excellent except manager self absorbed and not a ounce of customer service experience! Pools nasty and closed but say kids open but NO WATER! No internet signal above the lobby! Breakfast terrible, carpets dirty need shampooing. NO LAUNDRY SERVICE OR ROOM COFFEE! POLICE HOTSPOT AND HOMELESS! DON"T BE FOOLED BY PHOTOS THIS PLACE FALLING APART LITERALLY BY THE FOUNDATION! OUTSIDE BEFORE POOL WATCH YOUR STEP MASSIVE HOLES THE SIZE OF 2 GRAVES AND CAN SEE CITY WATER PIPIES IN ALL HOLES!

Don't stay here....PLEASE LISTEN!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/03/09
This place was nasty beyond belief!Bad neighborhood.Police cars commonly stopped here.Grounds not well kept.Nasty old wood lattice fence, with lots of unkept, uncut overgrowth around hotel.Lots of trash collected around outside of fence. Not enough parking for the amount of patrons. Some had to park outside of fence,in dirt area.I wouldn't advize THAT!Not secure.Lobby is ONLY place they care if it looks decent!Don't let it fool you.Demand to see a room FIRST!Staff was VERY unprofessional! They joked and giggled with one another while they were supposed to be caring for guests at the desk! It's like they looked down on us,tourists.Do they know tourists are the majority of their bread and butter??!!Halls were disgusting.Carpet was smelly and very stained in areas!Passed by ashtray in hall that had a giant wad of hair overflowing in it.Yuk!!Decor was very outdated in halls and rooms.Ice machines rarely worked.Prepare to search other floors for one that works! There was no ice bucket provided in our room.We went and bought one at a local store. No microwave or even a small frig.Bare complimentary toiletries(including a couple styrofoam cups!).Room was nasty.Carpet was dirty and stinky.Looked like they never do edge vacuming or vacuming behind furtinture, etc.Keep shoes, slippers on if you expect your socks to stay clean!Bed was ok.Not sure about comforter, due to darker color, but sheets looked clean. No yellow pages phone book to order delievery from local restaurants. There was no tv remote in our room.Could not get connection for our laptop.Reception sucks,as others have said.So if you need to use your's,if on business, beware!Fake balcony.Sliding door is difficult to open, due to being old, beat up,and in dire need of repair.Bars and only enough room to barely stand out there to look at scenery,if the door slides open enough!Curtains old and dusty and dirty. Some outlets didn't seem to work.No instructions on phone on how to tell people to call in to you,or how to call out.Not even emergency #'s!Teeny little white apearing bugs crawling all over round table, around tv,and on nightstand, and who knows where else we didn't see!God knows what we brought home! We personally saw broken sheetrock on walls in hall, with exposed wiring.I am surprised Holiday Inn would allow their name on this place.I am embarrassed for them!!!I Since our experience was not good with the room,we didn't dare try the pool or the restaurant!!They say the laundry takes tokens, but had none when I went to ask. So,we had to take our chances and find a local laundromat to wash clothes. It was our 4th trip to Florida, our first time in Miami.Since we were rarely in the room,we decided to just tough it out,and pray no cockroaches hitched a ride back home in our luggage!! I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy!I'd feel guilty!

Average Hotel

This Holiday Inn is a little thread-bare. Its a on the worn side and dated. It is also in the center of a busy traffic pattern. The front desk staff were warm, welcoming and helpful. The hotel was convenient to the stadium and for our purposes that was an asset. The next time we visit Miami, I would prefer to stay closer to the beach, in a less congested area.
