Doral Golf Resort and Spa, Miami

Just finished a stay for a business function at Doral. I have stayed here before over the years and my opinion is that the management of this place has noticeably deteriorated. First, I must say in general I hate going to business functions at resorts. This stay highlights the many reasons. At one point staying at Doral meant something. Now, its just a very average marriott hotel property geared at vacationers (spa goers and golfers). I did not enjoy my stay. Let me recount the ways: 1) rooms not ready until after 4pm; 2) things spread out; 3) hosted a cocktail reception and the waitress double charged me for the tip; 4) no call back from the manager after 3 attempts to reach him (in a meeting - for four hours??); 5) no bill under the door (a deal breaker for me); 6) spent 15 minutes in check-out line and finally gave up (single desk employee busy talking vacation planning with a guest while 6 of us waited in line; 7) called to get a bill emailed 2 times the same day but it never came; 8) called three days later and the lady told me she could not help - her quote "not sure why they told you they would send you a bill as we are not empowered to do so". Also told me "it takes 5 business days to get an email. You need to get a copy from Marriott business services which is open during normal business hours". So in conclusion, if you are looking for a class place, keep looking. If you get some cut rate golf deal, it might be worth it but recognize what you are getting - Doral by Courtyard.

I would not never stay there again... This was suppose to be a 4 star resort and spa and there is no complimetary anything breakfast $25, $3 sodas.... I mean where is the apprec. Never changed my sheets on the bed the best thing about the resort was the view. I would not recommend the hotel.... Nothing a free not even Water!!! ITS CRAZY!!!!

I stayed at this property and found the facilities tired, old and in desperate need of updating. Carpet in the guest rooms was worn, hallways unkept and public facilities in the conference center/ballroom were dirty. Not what you would expect from a Marriott RESORT!!!

Doral has to be the worst hotel ever! When I checked in, they gave me a room that had not been cleaned yet. I complained to a very rude manager and had to wait 1 hour for my room. I then went to the main restaurant, Windows. The food was terrible. I ordered fish and it came out raw. I lost my appetite after that. I spoke with the manager of the restaurant about it and she was very rude and practiced poor hygene since her breath was atrocious. I think this hotel's problems all stem from the management, since all the staff I encountered were friendly and willing to help but the managers were rude. I would expect more from marriott.

we have been to Doral about 6 times over the last 4 years and have noticed an increasing dislike of the hotel. the grounds, pools and the golf are nice, but the included caddy for the Blue Monster are not necessary if you've been there before. our room in the spa was spacious but the shower was awful and it was not an attractive room. seemed that there are a few varying styles, and #12 is not interesting. the shower was actually a corner tub with a handheld only shower head that came to your waist, so you had to hold it to do anything, sitting or standing. water went everywhere. i complained to a staff member, hopefully they will fix it. overall, after many visits the nickle and dime philosophy is getting too much. all of the "help" you encounter expects a tip. you could go broke just passing out bills. service is declining over these 4 years and prices are rising. don't know how it got a 4 star rating last year. staff in general needs some training in how to be a 4 star hotel. it is such a beautiful place but there are just too many others that do this resort golf better.

The Marriott Doral golf resort is the perfect place to stay for the business traveler. After a long day it was so nice to come back to a hotel that was not the typical hotel. I had a weeks stay last year but did not have the time to golf all though I was able to enjoy a jog around the golf courses every evening. This resort is clean and the rooms are spacious. The pools are nice with plenty of chairs for relaxing after a day of work. This would be a great place to stay and enjoy a few days of golf at one of the beautiful courses and then hit the spa. I didn’t eat at the resort so I can’t review the restaurants but the hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Parking is a bit of a walk but they will assist you with your bags if you request. Marriott Platinum

I am a very frequent traveler both on business and leisure. This is by far the worst hotel ever experienced. I will never stay here again and will tell everyone I know to avoid this hotel at all costs. I was here for a group paying top dollar. Service was horrible. Food was terrible. I could overlook this but the worst part was the billing, which was completely wrong even though we agreed on billing methods. They just charge to your credit card without any regard. Even spoke to the General Manager who told me "since you're not returning anyways, we are not going to do anything about it".

Me and my husband had dinner at windows on the green, Doral's high class restuarant. Our waiter (marcus) was aweful. the food took over 45 minutes and the waiter was nowhere to be found. he approached us before our main coarse had been served to ask if we wanted desert! He then rushed us to leave when we were finished. The only thing worse than the food was the waiter. Don't dine at this restaurant

The hotel is amazing. The spa is clean and friendly. The golf course is beauitiful. Great restaurants. The hotel is a little overpriced but most is worth it.

The service was professional, helpful and friendly but the room was just average and in need of upgrading. The elevator cab in my building looked like it had been remodelled by a weekend handyman and the ride was accompanied by ominous groans and jerks. The entire property looks and feels its age and requires a major capital infusion to compete with the newer resorts.
