The Surfside Hotel is located in front of the beach, within walking distance of Daytona Beach Shores, and approximately 11 miles from Daytona Beach International Airport. This location is also five miles from the Angell & Phelps Chocolate Factory and six miles from Daytona Beach City Hall and Daytona Beach Bandshell.Hotel amenities include the swimming pool and sun deck, dining room, cocktail lounge, clothing and sundry shop, lobby fish aquariums, and beach access. The hotel also offers laundry facilities and a game room. All rooms feature cable TV, safes (available at an additional charge of $1.50 per day, payable directly to the hotel), irons and ironing boards, hairdryers, and complimentary high-speed Internet access.Please not that there is a parking fee of $5 per vehicle, per day. i actually thought the staff was a bit rude and the rooms were a bit old but i did like the pool and how close it was to the beach. i would stay again
 
 
 
 
 
Not a place I would stay at again

The room, hallway, and elevators were extremely outdated and in need of repairs. The carpet throughout the hotel was filthy and smelled bad. We wore our flip flops in the room because we were uncomfortable walking around barefooted. I told my wife that I felt like we stepped back into the late 50's or early 60's because the hotel was in such need of updating. It's a shame, because the hotel is in a great location. Lobby was nice. Pool was nice.

Second Visit, just as good as the first

I liked everything about this Hotel, BUT they still have not installed a Hot Tub and the Bar/Pub has limited hours (4PM-10PM). The Bar is open till 10pm but the kitchen closes at 8pm. Ladies night on Thursday is a BLAST, but then it's down hill after that for entertainment. I would stay there again as it's an easy Hotel to navigate even with the slow elevators.
 
 
 
 
 
One word, mold...

This is an older holiday Inn and definately is not your typical Holiday Inn. There was mold in our room, the floors were always damp and sticky. We had a 3 night stay booked there. We left a night early at 11pm because I absolutely could not stand how sickening I felt anymore. Save your money or stay elsewhere. There are PLENTY of better places for the price.

Horrible! Don't Go There!!

After driving 800 miles and 12 hours to get there we were not given the room we were supposed to get. We were given a view of the parking lot instead of the oceanfront room we were promised. The staff was not very accomodating. (They were downright nasty!) We came all that way, and spent all that gas just to end up getting the bait and switch. We had no where to stay and all we got for our time was the run around. Someone needs to fix the problems with that hotel, especially the staff!!!!

great customer service

The room we had reserved was somehow unavailable when we got there. The first night we stayed in a regular room instead of the suite, which wasn't too bad except for the hole in the wall and lack of fridge. We had been prepared to keep some food in the fridge since the room we'd reserved had one. However, the customer service was excellent, and once the room that we'd reserved opened up, we were moved into that. The suite was very nice, with balconies on two sides of the room, complete with kitchen and fridge. The pool was clean and very nice. The hotel was right on the beach. Overall, it's an old hotel and the rooms could use some remodeling, but the staff was attentive and very pleasant and accomodating.

Excellent Service

This hotel is an older Holiday Inn. There are somethings that I would replace at the property, but their staff are very attentive. When you first checkin they make you feel like they are glad you are there. They also have WI-FI which I found very useful. I would stay there again.

* The minute we walked through the door the customer service personnel greeted us with a smile and welcome! How nice this greeting was, especially after a long drive. * The restaurant service was commendable. Our food was delicious, hot, and appealling. * Our rooms were very neat and CLEAN. Our housekeeper definitely knew her job duties well. * The hotel is convientely located. Only feet from the beach. * The swimming pool is also well maintained.

Hotel rating

I liked that the hotel had a restaurant, a bar, a nice pool, in room safes, exercise room, nice lobby, wireless internet, lots of parking and a good location. However the room was only vacuumed once and the door to the very small balcony barely closed.
