Days Inn Orlando Universal, Orlando

I Would give it a negative overall rating if i could!! The rates and Hotel information on door was 4 yrs outdated. Said there was a Denny's on the property on the phone automated service, but it was a indian resturant, O.K. no biggie. But it gets better: the room door did'nt close right, you had to body slam it to close it. You also had to pull it with all of your force to close it from the outside. The room smelled very musty and damp. It didn't have carpeting, but the tiles needed to be mopped.There were very noticable stains on the sheets and we tore the beds apart to make sure there were'nt any bedbugs; luckly there were'nt. There were hairs in the tub as well as it being dirty and the toilet seat looked 20 years old. We went down to the front desk to complain and was told they would tell the maid in the morning; without apology or emotion, like they were used to it. I understand that we came at 10 p.m., but it was still unexcusable and unacceptable. There were crackheads and girls giving $1.00 "massages" next door. It had poorly lit hallways and parking; the only hotel in area that was (there are 4 or 5 hotels in a quad like area next to it this one was the farthest back next to some creepy abandoned buildings.) The "security" were "Off-duty unpaid police officers" but we never saw any. We did see police and security patrols at the nearby hotels from the parking lot of our hotel. We didn't feel safe (and we were 3 adults; 2 of which were male) and was worried that our car would get stolen or worse; so we left after 2 hours, even though we were supposed to stay for 5 days. We were very lucky to get a room at the Best Western litterally next door and had a wonderful experience. I know you get what you pay for but this was ridiculous, as well as being a health and safty issue. We used to love Days Inn, but will never go there again. What a shameless misrepresentation on their webpage, it barely looked like the pictures at all! I found out before we went that Wyndham Resourts had bought Days Inn a couple of years ago and figured that the merger would be a good one. It's a shame, Wyndham Resourts ruined a good company. I will never recommened anyone to ever stay there, not even my worst enemy. You would better off staying in your car if this was the last room available in Orlando!!

I did not like one thing about this place. The staff is rude and we changed rooms everyday because of the roaches and the filth. I wouldn't know if they changed the sheets because we never stayed in a room more than one night. And, I would never eat there. We actually had three rooms within two days. On the 3rd day we switched hotels. There are so many other hotels nearby that are also within walking distance to Universal. Didn't know beforehand because we booked through a travel agency. We prepaid so we couldn't get our money back. This is the worst place I have ever stayed. Those who gave it a good rating is either lying, got paid to write the review, lucked up on some rooms that they must have hidden or didn't stay at the Days Inn Orlando Universal.

We asked front desk to mail post cards (all ready stamped) he kept telling us where to get stamps (didn't speak English). We walked to the hotel next door to get our post cards mailed. Room was dirty, my feet were itching from walking on carpet. People - unfriendly, breakfast horrible and not free (like most days inns). Worst hotel ever!

Nothing. Hotel is very unclean. No enough employers to assist you, when you find someone, they are not friendly or helpfull to you. I stay there for a week, they never clean my room, the only thing they did was change the bed after two days. They have a indian restaurant in the hotel which the food is terrible. The continental breakfast is only until 9:30, you have to eat on stand on your feet because they only have 6 table. The breakfast consists everyday the same thing:coffee( like hot water) very small pancakes ( cold) cereal and milk, and indian potato w/ linguica (terrible) all uncover and you serve yourself. I just had a coffee there one day, the rest I had to pay for coffee in other places, or eat inside Disney parks which are very expensive. I order food from my room from two pizzas places they have near the hotel, very expensive and not good we didn't eat all the food. Plus very far from Disney parks, they have a bus which they tell you comes 12 PM but the bus was always late, end up to the parks very late, and we didn't have time to enjoy or see anything. I took the taxi twice to the parks, I paid 38.00 and 40.00 .Conclusion: this hotel will never see us again.

well i got a very good deal on the room and expected it to be a hole in the wall but when my husband and i got there the location was Great!! and the room was imaculate was very surprised. close to universal and outlets shopping beds were very clean floor was tiled not carpet which i loved rooms were very cooled temp we went in june so that was a plus i am booking for summer 2010 Highly Recommended!!

The room was clean and the staff was VERY helpful and friendly !!! our 5 year old loved the pool. it was clean they even had towels for you at pool side! i had read alot of bad reviews and was a bit scared. but after staying there for 6 days,5 nights all i have to say is, i'm glad we did.

There wasn't much i liked besides the location. I disliked every thing from the smell when I walked in the room to the wall paper hanging off the wall. The beds were small and worn down you could feel the coils when you would lay in it. The bathroom mirror was broken at the bottom and the toliet paper holder metal piece was all rusted. The door handle to the bathroom was about to fall off if you turned the knob to fast. The lamp shades didn't fit the lamps in the room and one had to be shaken to work. The view of my room was to the parking lot so couldn't leave the curtain open during the day or people would stare in. The outdoor walk ways were dirty looking. The lobby was uninviting. It smelled like old food and the people at the front desk were not very friendly or knowledgable about when the shuttle came to the hotel, or other questions you may have about the area. The pool area had 2 ducks swimming in the pool and it seemed to be an everyday thing. The fence surrounding the pool was rusted and very shaky. I was truley unhappy about my stay there because the pictures they show on the computer are not what it looks like at all! Only reason I didn't leave was because I would of lost out on 160 bucks! Definitly not a good hotel.

Reserved a room for 3 nights.... called the hotel for directions... The guy working had no clue what he was talking about. We got there late because we got lost... Checked in, got the room key only to find it was not the room with one queen bed that we had reserved but a room with 2 double beds instead! Bathroom was dirty, the bottom of the shower was BLACK! My boyfriend showered with shoes on.....We checked out and returned home only to realize they charged our credit card 25 dollars more tha what our reservation was suppose to be and then charged a second charge of 42.00. We then tried to call the hotel and figure out what the additional charges were for and the staff..... SHONNA, was outright rude and obnoxious. Turns out even though it is NOT stated on the website ... if you do not check in by 4 p.m. they have the right to cancel your reservation and still charge you for it and also an additional 42.00 fee! We will NEVER spend another penny at this hotel... Don't waste your time or money.. spend a few extra dollars and stay somewhere else... Trust me it will be well worth it...

For those of you expecting the cleanest place on earth, this hotel is clearly not an option. The sheets were not changed every day, and the room's floor and walls are very dirty... The staff is not very helpful, but if you can manage your way through orlando you won`t need them a lot. The location is very good, being very close to Universal Studios theme parks.. Another issue issue is the shuttle they offer, it takes almost an hour to get to disney theme parks, because it stops at a lot of hotels on the way. Overall if you don`t want to spend a lot this hotel is a fair choice
