Hidden fees galore!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/31/09
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. There are a variety of hidden fees that add up. I wasn't informed of these until check out. Repeated e-mails and calls to management regarding these have been blatantly ignored. Some of the fees you can expect include: Parking Key Safe These fees average about $1.50 per day each. That's nearly $5 a day hidden fees. In addition, the hot tub had so much chlorine it burnt our eyes. It also was FREEZING and has NO heater. The Tiki Bar didn't open on time.

I was ready to go home as soon as i got there
By thrillkill9, 07/31/09
Ok here I go, me and my girl friend stayed at the La Playa in Naples for a week, I would never go back again it was like staying in a retirement home. The pool side Tiki bar closed befor sun down. we had to pay for parking and beach towels and chairs and tables that looked very dirty.and old. None of the staff there was friendly, we got a few smiles but yeah they where the fake kind. Oh and lunch was over fifty dollars and tasted like hospital food. Oh and dont leave your light on after sunset because you will get a phone calles to your room to turn your lights out for the turtle season. parking 20$ a day, beach set up 17$ a day, this place was very boring and a rip off. But its ok if your over 70 years of age and love turtles.

FIRST AND LAST TIME !!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/09/09
Ok...where to begin.... we just got back from our vacation and all I have to say is....NEVER AGAIN will I stay at this hotel with my family !!! ...it was the worst hotel ever. Horrible Service. Called when we were on the way to make sure there was a room avail. He said the room we made reservations for was avail. When we got there it was not. Rooms, Beds....YUCK ! Had to call the Maintenance guy for a backed up sink, he came, poured acid into the sink (splashing everything we had sitting by the sink and did not clean anything up), he said he would be back later. Then AC leaked over night and totally soaked the carpet, suitcase and all, again called Maintenance, he took it apart and never came back, (not for sink or moldy) AC !! No fresh towels til late afternoon or none at all ! Called the Service desk a few times for Service, no answer. I was very disappointed !!!!

Would not have my worst enemy stay there.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/23/09
This place was disgusting, walked in to the disgusting old carpet that had not been vaccumed. no blanket on 1 bed, cigarett butt in dirty sheets. sheets full of stains. large hole in the tub, roach in the room. lock to door was broken. Asked to change room and second room was 10 times worse. fridge was rusty,. hair in the bed and all over bathroom. smelled horrible, You would rather sleep on the street that sleep in this hotel. did not stay the night, checked out 30 minutes after check in. Also, my party had 3 rooms and they were all disgusting followed by the next 3 rooms they moved us to. DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!

Unforgettable Vacation!
By Lisa, 12/28/08
My husband and I just returned from La Playa in Daytona and cant say enough about it. For the price, you really get a lot for your money. There were plenty of people there for mid December and we found everything clean and the staff very pleasant and helpful. Yes, parts of the hotel are outdated and need a little TLC, but if you are looking for a clean place to stay with no unpleasant surprises, this is the place to go! With shopping and grocery and restaurants just across the street...you just cant go wrong with this place. I would DEFINITELY go back if I had the opportunity!

The room was not very nice. Our fridge was rusty and there were wires hainging out from the air conditioner. Paint peeling here and there. The carpet was pretty grody. The bathroom needed to be updated a bit. My biggest complaint about the room was the Carpet. I was pretty grossed out about how dirty it was. It was quiet and had a Beautiful view of the beach. Couldn't ask for better on that. We were charged a parking fee but when we were looking thru that book thing in your room it says parking is free so we told them about that and they refunded our money. When we checked in the guy at the front desk said that he would upgrade our room for $10.00 more per night to get us a better view room so we did that. He pocketed the money though so it looked like we still owed that at the end when we paid for everything upfront. So we were out like 70.00 but we put up a stink about it and thankfully we kept the receipt. We were later refunded our money about 2 weeks after our vacation. Not very trust worthy. I think we got a good deal on the price thru our travel agent. We only paid about 60 per night where other I heard of like 100 or more. I would of been really mad if I would of been one of them.

Never ever again and shame on Spinnaker Resorts!
By T S, 07/16/08
This place should not have the title "Resort" in it's name. It's desperately in need of renovation, and it was horrible. We arrived on a Sunday night, after a LONG day of driving from Atlanta and were excited to check in. When we got into the room, the beds looked old and sunken, the sheets looked as though they had been there for a few years, and I really didn't even want to touch them. Then we found out that toilet leaked (being in the car so many hours the first thing you want to do is go to the bathroom), so we called and requested another room. We got another room, it looked the same, but we were so tired, we just decided to go to bed. I needed to check my email first, so I went to plug in my BRAND NEW laptop. Big mistake! As I put the plug in the outlet, it sparked, so I made sure I didn't plug my computer in there and used the battery. I was afraid it would short my laptop, then I would have been really pissed off. Anyway, in the morning, we go to take showers, and after my husband showered, we noticed the water would not drain from the tub. To describe it as gross is an understatement. Needless to say, I made my children wipe themselves clean from the basin and I made the decision to shower at the next hotel we went to. We promptly packed and checked out, although we were supposed to be there for four nights. Not in this lifetime! I'm doubly disappointed because we were sent there by Spinnaker Resorts, and we were supposed to listen to their timeshare presentation. Needless to say, I did not attend a presentation and I informed them that I would not be purchasing anything. This is a really pathetic excuse for a "resort" and I recommend you find someplace better if you are visiting Daytona/Ormond Beach.

Worst Hotel Ever Stayed In
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/09/08
This hotel was nasty, LOUD, and felt unsafe. Booked room for 4 nights and after the first night we asked to either be moved to another room or refund us for the next 3 nights and we would move to another hotel. We were denied both requests. Went to another hotel the last night but still had to pay La Playa for that night also.

CONDEMN IT !
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/08/08
I disliked it as soon as I checked in. The staff at the desk seemed put off that they had to deal with checking us in. We get to our room and no Toilet paper, called the desk...they said "be right up with some"...waited an hour and they never came. We took some rolls off the housekeeping cart that we seen. Had to do this the whole week. They never stocked any toilet paper, coffee, towels, or soap. Each and every day housekeeping would come in and make beds and take the used towels, but NOT replace the towels, coffee, etc. People got drunk and made an uproar right outside our door at 2:00am with security apologizing to us for the disturbance. The room was filthy, and I don't mean a little dirty...IT WAS FILTHY!!! I'm not a clean freak...but I wouldn't have guest come in if I lived there!! IT NEEDED SERIOUS SCRUBBING!!! EWWWWW!! NASTY
