Casa Loma Hotel, Panama City Beach

The staff was incompetent, but worst of all~~~one of the maintenence men offered my son (13y/o) & his friend a hit of acid!!!! Thankfully they refused & came straight to me. The motel tried to deny the whole thing, but there was another adult present during the whole incident. I will never stay there again & I suggest that anyone that does keep a close eye on their children & belongings!!! The refrigerator leaked & the staff openly talked about other customers in front of me during check~in.

There are basic things I expect from every hotel I stay in, no matter what the price, and this hotel did not deliver well at all on the basics. First of all, the swimming pool was so hot, it was almost a hot tub. It was not enjoyable at all to use. Also, I asked numerous times for someone to clean my room. Someone finally came around 4pm that day, and because someone was in our room, they could only take out the trash we gave to them, and give us some towels. They didn't even offer to come back later. And the staff was very rude in general. I had booked fro 4 days, but I decided to leave a day early and go down the street to the Days Inn. It provided much friendlier and more helpful service and the pools were very enjoyable. I couldn't get a refund, but I didn't care because I wanted to leave so bad.

The hotel is dated which I expected from the reviews, the bathrooms small and the door did not open all the way. Safe did not work front desk said if we used it the lock smith would run around $400. But it does have a good location on the beach that is the highlight of this hotel. The pool is nice but the water was hot !!! None of the employees were rude everyone seemed pleasant.. We have children im not sure I would take them back here...

OK Look This is not the Hilton and it does not advertise that it is. It is an affordable place to stay on the beach. I stayed here . My room was clean. True it could use some remodeling but it is functionable. I had NO PROBLEMS. NO BUGS NOONE WAS RUDE TO ME. The pool was great. The beach was great ( a little Junegrass but hey it's everywhere.) A sea turtle even came ashore the night we were there and laid her eggs. The EPA was there the next morning and let us watch them take care of the nest and rope it off. They told us they have lots of turtles come ashore in that area of the beach. You want see that at the other end too crowded for them. My point is if you are used to the hilton or that type of room go pay your $300. a night and the Hilton Type places if you just want a CLEAN place to stay for around $100 a night . GO FOR IT

This place is so nasty! We booked online on the way to Panama City for two nights. When we got there and looked at the room, we did not want to stay here. It smelled horrible and there were large roaches in the hallway. We told the manager (the one that really needs to be fired as she has no idea how to treat the public); she was so rude - said it didn't whether we stayed or not, she was charging our credit card. I should have gone with my gut feeling and left anyway - but hated to have to pay for something I did not get. Please believe me when I say "Do not stay here". There are many decent places to stay down the road a few miles. Do not give them your credit card number over the phone as they will not let you cancel once you see the place.

Reviewed comments before going to Florida. Some were good and many were bad. Tried to call many times to ask questions but no one would answer the phone. Family member had already made reservations online so we decided to give this place a chance. We arrived one night earlier and the nightmare began. I am handicap and was put on the 4th floor with no elevator. We did get moved to the third floor and found our room to be dirty and smelled really bad. The sink in the kitchenette would not drain and left dirty water standing. The mattress was black and covered with all kinds of stains. The bed pillows and linens were stained as well. The bed frames were covered in rust and the beds felt like they were fallen down when you sat on them. The bathroom smelled and the toilet did not flush very good. The hotel smelled really bad and was not clean. The pictures of this hotel need to be updated. This hotel needs to be pushed down and re built. We were told by the staff that the hotel was grandfathered in . It must have been built in the stone age days. The Parking was terrible and you could barely get in your vehicle due to all the other cars parked on top of you. Room service consisted of a lady making you bed up and not using clean linen. Half the lights in the room did not work. This was the only Hotel on this road that had a flag saying that they were open. Must be desperate for business! We could deal with some things but the manager MS. Betty was very rude and unprofessional. Her staff was trained well by her because they acted the same way. The only concerned she had was to collect money. She had no respect for the hard working families that were staying there. On our fifth day we decided to go home and asked for a refund for that night and she refused with a attitude. She told us that their bad reviews came from spring break. Dont be fooled the reviews are right. This is a terrible place to stay and the staff could care less about your needs or problems. They are very rude and this hotel should be closed down. I am sure there are safety issues as well as health issues. The last thing she said to me was God Blesses her everyday. As we drove back home I could not help but wonder what God thinks about her being so rude to the hard working people that stay in that terrible place. Be sure you look at the rooms before you give your money. They will not refund your money after you sign on the line. We are not spring break kids and please beware of the reviews you read because this place is a joke!!!! Spend extra money and stay in a clean, safe and healthy environment you and your family deserve it!!!

From the moment we drove into the parking lot, we knew we were doomed. The pictures on the websites do not show the decay this facility has sufferred from years of neglect. When we checked in, our room was dirty. The floors were greasy and gritty. The bathroom was disgusting. We found mold in the shower, shower head, and fixtures. The stove was rusty and in poor condition. The refrigerator was not working properly. When we brought this to management's attention, they were unapologetic. They're response was "It is what it is." We attempted to find a another hotel through the booking agency we used, "BookIt.com," but all hotels were booked solid over the July 4th weekend. We complained to BookIt as well, but have yet to get a response from their Resolutions Department. They don't seem to care either. Casa Loma is billed as an affordable beach hotel. I don't have a problem with less amenities to keep down the price, including charging for ice, daily rentals for beach chairs and umbrellas. But cleanliness, resposiveness and politeness of management , and keeping the facility from falling apart should not be compromised. The bottom line is if a clean room is important to you, don't stay here. If you're looking for a place to crash, get drunk and smoke off your balcony, this is the place for you!

The rooms have a great view on the beach, love that you could walk out to the beach from your room. The pool is warm. The negatives dont expect to get clean in your shower its only a very small trinkle, no water pressure at all, you can hear everytime your neighbor flushes their toilet, the worst part, I left my laptop in the room when I checked out I called that afternoon when I got home and realized that it was still sitting in the hotel room and they said that they were sorry nothing had been place in the lost and found box. I would never stay here again if their staff cant turn in a laptop when they clean the room its not a place that can be trusted....

My stay at Casa Loma was an exceedingly horrendous hotel experience. With the exception of the cleaning staff, whom were very accommodating, the customer service was shockingly terrible. The woman who works at the front desk (who is also the general manager) was unbelievably DISRESPECTFUL and the most UNACCOMIDATING woman I have ever met. When our key did not work (which should have been a trivial issue), she explained that the locks were being re-programmed and that she would be happy to make a new key as soon as they were finished. However, when I asked how long she thought that would be, she rudely snapped back at me, “If you would shut your mouth for a minute, I’ll explain.” I don’t know who she thinks she is, or why she thinks she has the right to discipline her guests, but can somebody teach this lady a thing or two about customer service??

The Casa Loma is a fine establishment. The mini-fridge kept my beer cool, the in room safe kept my belongings secure, and the beds were very comfy. I must report however that the shower singed by ball sack during one of its many bipolar fits of raging heat only to be followed by piercing ice bullets. Ms. Cankles, the pleasant lady at the front desk was a vicious woman who surely has never been loved, for she possesses a hate in her heart for other human beings the likes of which I have never experienced before. To my great displeasure the bathroom smelled like sweaty taint. Overall, I probably would not stay at a government housing project for my spring break again.
