Regency Hotel Miami, Miami

Not only was the staff incredibly rude, but one week after my departure from the "hotel", a balance of $1500 dollars appeared on my credit card!!! DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE!!! Apparently, this is not the first time this has happened here, it is definitely not worth the trouble.

Took 1.5 hours to check in 4 parties- while everyone waited in line, and manager stood by and watched 2 desk clerks do everything at a snail's pace. Restaurant service was equally slow- greeter and 2 waiters chatting, while manager popped in and out. Only 2 customers in restaurant and it took 20 min to take an order. After a long, tiring day of flying, this place is exasperating. The final straw was the morning shuttle driver- he took off at high speed with the van side door open. Passengers had to yell at him to stop and close the door- there were no seat belts, by the way, so this was doubly dangerous. He then proceeded to yell at everyone and literally threw our bags on the airport curb and peeled out in front of another shuttle. Room was clean, but the service is next to non-existent.

This place was horrible. The service was the worst, we had to wait at the airport for the shuttle for an hour, and we got there an hour before check-in time (3:00) and they didn't let us have a room. In fact, we all waited in the lobby until 4:00 to get a room! Unbelievable! The rooms had paper thin walls so you could hear everything. The doors slammed shut and that's all we heard all night. Also, planes are constantly flying over this hotel so it is soooo NOT relaxing. The pool was freezing cold - not even the children in our group would go in. The air conditioner didn't work in our room and we were sweating to death. Not anything to do around the hotel. The staff was rude and barely spoke english. We spent $140/night for this room and it was one of the worst hotels I have ever been too! BEWARE!!!

Most of the staff had a poor command of English. I asked for an ice machine and was almost sent across the street to a gas station because they thought I was asking for an automatic teller machine. The Cuban music at the restaurant next door started at 10 PM or so and didn't quit until after midnight. Not good if you want to catch an early flight.

This hotel is close to the airport and has an impressive marble entry. Those are the good things. They don't have enought staff so if you need a towel or a question answered don't bother calling, the front desk doesn't answer. If you are going on a cruise and trying to get to the port from there, be careful, they promise you a ride and then at the last minute forget to put you on the list. Worst of all we discovered at 10:30 at night that there was only one sheet on the bed. After going down to the front desk AGAIN it takes them a 1/2 hour to get us the second sheet.

Non existent service. Poor quality bath towels, no wash clothes in room despite a request for one, finally one arrived for the two of us on our last night stay there. Inconvenience location, close to freeway but no local transportation nearby. No mention of the free shuttle to the mall. Staffs have poor command of English. Vending machines does not work most of the time. One night we cannot get any bottled water anywhere in the hotel, not at the vending machines, bar or front desk. Both the bedroom floor and the bathroom floor were dirty. There were iron and ironing board in room but no easy access to the outlet which rendered the appliance useless. Advised our travel agent not to book us at this hotel anymore.

The gym they advertise on their website where you can "squeeze in a workout" does not exist even though it is also still listed in their guest information book in the room. Nothing special here. The lobby is the nicest part. When we left early for our early flight we were stuck in the parking lot- no attendant to open the gate. Someone finally noticed and ran out and let us leave.

This place is garbage -- gave me a room with a non-working shower, had to wash my hair in the sink so I wouldn't be late for a business meeting -- then they refused to comp the room. Place is garbage ...stay somewhere else.
