Watergate Hotel, Washington

I HAD THE PLEASURE OF STAYING HERE FOR A WEEK AND GOT TO STAY IN THE TWO BEDROOM PRESIDENTIAL SUITE. OVER LOOKING THE RIVER WAS BEAUTIFUL. IT WAS EXPENSIVE BUT WELL WORTH IT, YOU CAN WALK TO THE THEATRE OF PREFORMING ARTS AND TO GEORGETOWN TRAIN STAION. BEAUTIFUL AREA I WOULD GO AGAIN

Our recent stay at the Watergate was the highlight of our first trip to D.C. The room was an executive suite that was much larger than we had expected. It had a wrap-around balcony and a view of the Potomac that was breathtaking. The room was clean and the furniture had a shabby elegance. I suspect it would have been replaced if the owners of the Watergate weren't still deciding whether to continue as a hotel. The bathroom was a recent upgrade and was quite impressive. The location of this hotel is exceptional. It's in the Foggy Bottom neighborhood and has it's own shopping complex. The proximity to the Kennedy Center and the Mall make it convenient for sightseeing or business travel. The political history, both in the past and in the making are ever present. The second evening we were there, Condaleeza Rice was having dinner with the British Ambassador in the hotel restaurant (Aquarelle). We had the good fortune of having to wait 1/2 an hour with the doorman (Mark - the baby of the group with over 10 years of service) for a tour and his amazing stories brought us back for more when the tour was finished. Excellent staff!!

The hotel was very nice. We forgot to pack dress clothes to be able to eat in the hotel's restaurant. The room service was great, but not many choices for our kids to choose from. The staff was friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

I had a perfectly marvelous time at the Watergate Hotel. The staff was the best,and the food was unbelievable. I arrived a little bit late for the breakfast time, but the staff fed me a beautiful breakfast anyway. My room was kept perfectly. I can not wait until I can return. The Watergate Hotel truly rocks!

For my first visit to DC ... The Watergate made it a plesant one. The customer service is five stars and helps you to go anywhere in DC or Virginia.The hotel is very nice and keeps it roots with more older times which was nice. The con there would be the expensive breakfast but then again anywhere I go the breakfast in the hotel is always expensive. I would GO again.

Spacious well decorated rooms with beautiful bathrooms. Service is sub-par. But if you can get a good price, and do not require more of the hotel than the room itself, this is the one of the most spectacular places to stay in town. More of an apartment than a room.

In addition to being a classy hotel, the Watergate has one of the best locations possible in Washington. It gives one access to the waterfront and one of the most gorgeous areas of the city. In addition, it is just a short walk from the Metro which gives one access to the entire area with all the Metro has to offer. And speaking of short walks, you are just minutes from the Kennedy Center, the Lincoln Memorial, the title basin, etc,etc.

I liked seeing the spot that raised so many mystery and heads when it came to the watergate incident 30 years ago.
