Holiday Inn Dover, Dover

I didn't go to the hojo looking for a five star hotel. It wasn't all that and is not the place you should go after a wedding or anything like that. I don't know about other howard johnson's but this location recieves a three star.

We stayed in this hotel with a wedding party. This was a horrible experience, especially for the Bride and Groom. Our room was next to their Honeymoon Suite, and there were COCKROACHES in our room! When we called the front desk about it, they told us that there was nothing that they could do about this and that there were no other rooms available. Then the Jacuzzi in the Honeymoon suite broke and the maintenance guy said that there was nothing wrong with it. The water kept draining from the tub. The bride and I stuck a washcloth around the drain, and that kept the water in, but when we began to fill up the tub, there was black chunky stuff coming from the faucet for the water. No matter how long we ran the water, there was still this black stuff coming out of it. While we were filling working on the tub, there were crickets that came out from underneath the bed and the brides mother came into the room with water beetles that she trapped in her room! This place has a serious pest problem. Meanwhile while all of this was going on with us girls, the groom and my boyfriend came back up with a terrified look on their faces. Apparently, there is a night club attached to the hotel. There are emergency exit doors for the club that enters into the hotel after the receptionist's desk. The doors were somehow opened and there were all of these people running out into the first floor of the hotel. There were also cops there hitting people with night sticks ON THE FIRST FLOOR OF THE HOTEL!!! I know in the hotel room that all of this was happening infront of there was a family with two small children staying in this room! Needless to say that this was an absolutely horrible experience for us and more importantly for the bride and groom who only wanted to celebrate their wedding night!!! I would never suggest staying at this hotel!
