Loud Construction Poor Service
By Lots of Fabric, 7/3/11
Constructing new condos on property and did not notify us when booked. Wrote a complaint letter and never received a reply - poor customer service and over priced.

The most wonderful experience of my life!
By Yahoo User, 3/31/10
Not just because I married an amazing man, but also because The Water's Edge Resort and Spa was simply amazing. From the initial tour of the grounds to the final detail meeting and of course the day of...Cindy Sanchez was amazing! She responded to my excessive emailing and voicemails quickly and was always willing to go the extra mile. Even on the day of, when traffic was a slight issue, she coordinated everything to push our entire wedding back by 30 minutes with just a snap of the fingers! The grounds are amazing, the food was fantastic and the service was excellent! I always dreamed of having my wedding at the Water's Edge and it really was a dream come true!

This place is heaven!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/8/09
Just got back from a 4 day stay at Water's Edge Resort & Spa and couldnt be happier with our experience. Location is great. Grounds are beautful. Indoor/Outdoor (right on the ocean) pools, hot tubs.Private beach, Food was sooo good we ate at the resort twice for dinner. Wonderful! You will not find a cleaner hotel anywhere that's for sure. Staff was very helpful! The only slight negative is that some of the furniture in the rooms are a little bit worn.I All andall in a word our stay was SPECTACULAR!!! Can't wait to go back!!!

won't be back
By tbone, 4/21/09
read reviews after booking for a one night package stay but kept things in perspective regarding rudeness of some personell but found some truth in them. some staff people always find it difficult to admit that they're wrong in the information that they provide to their guests.they use words such as misinformed or it was miscommunications.never for a minute implying that they could be wrong. we came across one person like this and spoke to the manager who was also difficult to admit fault.however he did suggest that he would send over a bottle of wine at our dinner table that evening to smooth things out.however it was only a suggestion since the wine never showed up. the food was excellent and the room was neat and clean.you can probably agree with the negative comments made about the staff in other reviews.

wedding disaster
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/5/08
Ruined my Wedding By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/30/08 I had eaten there on multiple occasions, had asked all the necessary questions, and done all the necessary research, before deciding to have my wedding at Water's Edge BUT... recently on September 13, 2008 I had my wedding there and I would NEVER recommend this establishment to anyone. The customer service was HORRIBLE and the food a DISAPPOINTMENT. I will say that the #1 reason that I chose Water's Edge was for it's grounds ( I wanted to have my ceremony on the lawn over-looking the water); that was one of the only things that was well prepared and beautiful. Just a little background: When you book a wedding at Water's Edge you are given a personal Wedding Planner to help with all the details that involve the venue's services. During the planning, I thought this was an advantage, but found out on the day of the wedding that, I had falsely put faith in a person and company that was completely disorganized and unprofessional. Although this review may depict me as just an angry customer, what my new husband and I really are is heart-broken. After a year of planning, and our families spending an extremely large amount of money, we look back on the day with saddness and disappointment

Good Beach Location BUT...
Good beach location, lots of parking, but otherwise there isn't much going on for this place that makes it special. The lunch at the restaurant was ok- overpriced but hey it's a restaurant at a hotel so that wasn't a surprise.

UNBELIEVABLE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/13/08
the place was unbelievable. i would definately go back to the hotel. the service from the waiter was ok but not the best.the showers were average for the amount of people that use it. people do hog the beachchairs. the pool was clean but there were not too many pleasant attitudes from the hosts of the pool & beach. the food we ordered was good except the pizza. they used green sauce instead of tomato sauce. i ate one slice and didnt want anymore. the elevator smelled like trash. bot the hallway was worse. i would go back bot they MUST upgrade there service and cleanliness.

It's Handy for Us
By s f, 12/17/07
We stay here 1 weekend a year off season because its near relatives. The rooms are nothing special. The hotel is nothing special. I cannot say it is the cleanest hotel ever. But its location is great for us. We do very much enjoy the Sunday brunch which has been voted best in the state a number of times. The food choices are extensive and quite good. We have 2 people with food allergies and the chef is always very helpful showing them what they can eat or making something special. If you are going to be in the area I would recommend the Saybrook Point.

not very kid friendly and know your spanish
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/15/07
In the summer they have a few kids activities but WILL NOT allow kids in swimmies in the pools. The pool lady was rude and is bad for business. Some of the staff spoke no english at all. the grounds were nice and had numerous weddings during the week we stayed. Having a family the pool thing and the lady that ran it really frankly pissed me off and I will not go back there ever again.. Brunch was good and bartender was very nice as well
