Quality Inn Mystic, Mystic

I always stay at best western. this is the worst one ever. absolutely filthy carpeting, smelly halls, mold and wilting wall paper in the bathroom and a clot of hair in the tub. the front desk said they could not move us as no other room was available. went to the ground round and it smelled like rotton meat. i would not recommend this place to anyone, no matter the price or the ability to take your dog.

Pros: Nice long indoor pool (great for doing laps). The beds and pillows were very comfortable. Cons: The carpet in the room was disgustingly dirty. Perhaps it best to keep your shoes on until you get in bed. Also, we moved the bed at one point and found food littered about under there. Apparently cleaning under the bed is not a requirement there. The blow dryer in the bathroom didn't provide much in the "blow" department (it barely moved my hair). Last, there is no elevator - so beware if you have problems carrying luggage or walking up stairs.

the hotel staff was great!! the room was clean but the bathroom had some mold above the door. pool was great and i usually do not like indoor pools, it was warm plenty of towels and it was clean. the ground round is attached which was very convient. the breakfast, my kids thought was wonderful and i thought otherwise, consisted of cold cereal, oatmeal, english muffins, donuts and danishes, no rolls or bagels. also there is no elevator, so if you have stairs issues request 1st floor. as far as the location for the aquarium, shopping and seaport it was perfect. i would definietly stay here again!!

The only true thing that they advertise is the fact that they are in a good location. The groundround wouldn't seat my family due to the two year old and baby we had. The staff is rude. The shuttle to the casino is a 3rd seater Dodge Dakota, driven by a crazy women. The rooms are in serious need of upgrading. You do not want to be hungry for the "continental full hot breakfast" that they advertise in every room and on the internet, because the only hot item is the packaged oatmeal. We were throughly disgusted with the cleanliness of the rooms and the entire atmosphere. You can hear everything in the rooms by you..it looks way better on the website then in person!

The location is ideal for visiting the Mystic Aquarium. The staff was very polite and helpful. The price was competitive. The food at the Ground Round was tasteless. The wireless internet connection was very weak. The rooms, while clean, needed updating.

Hi, I stayed at this hotel and it was pretty nice. The staff were very polite. It was comfortable and convenient location to whereever I wanted to go. you must visit the aquarium and mystic village. My husband and kids loved it. The area has places to eat. the groudround was good. I recommend this place to anyone. Im headed again easter weekend. thanks! Carmen, NYC

Although it was obviously a busy time for the hotel, we had to ask twice for a pack-n-play for my daughter. Then had to call back for the bedding for it and then go down to the front desk for a blanket for it because we were never given one. Also, had to ask twice for towels for the pool and noone ever brought them so we ended walking back to our room soaking wet. Playground was okay...swingset/jungle gym cute, but other toys should be thrown out.(i.e. broken toys, bikes that are junky, rusted etc.) The only redeeming quality is the location...very close to Mystic Aquarium. We won't be staying here again...rather pay a little more and have more helpful people.

On an orgainised tour, arrived to no one to take cases. Three wine glasses returned dirty, replaced by dirty ones. Two breakfast mugs return dirty again replace by dirty ones. Torn and soiled base of bed and bathroom floor dirty. Food was very good but staff leave alot to be desired.

Arriving to book in at Best Western, we were told that the king smoking room we had reserved was not available. Reception told us that if we came back much later in the day, they may have found such a room - if someone else did not want it. We could leave our luggage there, but there was nowhere to lock it up and they would take no responsibility for it. This forced us to change our tour plans to ensure that laptop and luggage did not fry in a hot car. The reason they did not have our room? Well, at first Reception told us that Internet bookings did not guarantee that one got what one requested. We had actually booked on the Best Western 1800 number, the one recommended on the Mystic website. This mode of booking also, Reception told us, was not reliable and would not ensure one got the room one wanted. "The only way to get the room you want is to book by phoning the hotel direct," she said. So, be warned.

First off there were dead bugs in our bathroom. Second, there were hairs in our bed and in the bathroom I doubt the sheets were changed. The comforter smelled like urine. The location is great but I would never stay in a Best Western again.
