Great Independent Property

Classic New England Motel, landscaped grounds, Family owned, VERY CLEAN!!!! They had a nice Continental Breakfast, pool was clean and uncrowded. Owners were knowledgeable about the area and very nice.

like: 1. very clean 2. affordable 3. good location dislike: 1. no waiting area 2. not very friendly hosts 3. they definitely don't want you to check in early 4. no extra pillows 5. a lot of car noise from route 1

I have been here a number of times. Sometimes I have my family (with 2 teenage boys) and other times with my elderly parents. The best thing is that the owners (a young family that grew up in Old Saybrook) are available all night and day. They live in the attached house and know the area. They eat in the local restaurants and shop in local and the outlet stores. I like the fact that I can park the car and go right into the room. I also like the fact that I can either open the windows for fresh air or use the air conditioner.
In addition, they have a microwave and refrigerator (free of extra charges) in most of the rooms-it saves money! Now they have a continental breakfast-which saves my family even more (because the room rates have not risen).
Great location, clean rooms, exceptional pool,cable TV and AAA rated.
